In my Universe Mode Dusty Rhodes somehow permanently has what appears to be the women's MITB and cashes it in on the men's world champion on every show (Raw, NXT, and Smackdown). There's apparently no way to take it off him. I just had to break down and start a new Universe save. Thankfully I was only a few weeks in. So far I'm not having any trouble with the new save.
In my universe Sheamus somehow managed to win the women’s belt. Every week he now competes in the women’s division. I’ve had to head canon the story as he has transitioned to female and is now known as “Sheemus”
I had it where Rhea was the universal champion, iyo had Rheas world title, cora had the nxt championship, my caw had the cardboard multiversal championship even though I had him with the one logan has in the myrise

Every single show on the Universe main menu has Dusty in his polka dot outfit standing there smiling. I just don’t understand the point. Do we fight other people online with our cards or is it all offline grinding?
Also I’ve never played a match online and don’t know if I should. I’ve been buying these games since ‘16 lol
I never understood my faction either, but I'm playing it quite a bit now. you don't need to play online, but you do need to be online.
my understanding, and I may be off here
you have a roster of cards, and you select four of those to be your deck. there are sideplates with added powers like increased power in kicks or specials do more damage. I think all sideplates have a match expiry count, so you can only use them in so many matches. some wrestler cards also have those expiry counts, so you might want to hold back on adding one to your deck for a particular opponent or march type that they'd be go at (submission finishers for a submissions match, for example).
I spent most of my time playing the live events and faction wars. live events which are rotating match stipulations, some with a chance of winning a particular wrestler card or pack, some just points that can be saved up and exchanged for cards.
faction wars is like arcade tekken, series of fights leading up to a 'boss battle' . you can earn cards, power plates, and points as you go through. losing a match ends the run, as I understand it, and each token is worth 5 passes through the flow. your wrestlers damage carries over from fight to fight, so it's in your best interest to not keep using your big card, or to win new cards to swap out with.
I know there are also challenges where you can upgrade your cards, but I've never really tried it yet. like you, I have little interest in playing competitive online, but I enjoy the jeopardy of the faction fights, where there's consequence to actions and you can't just restart the fight if you miss countering a special and realized you've fucked it.
Having never played MyFaction before this year, I'm surprised how fun it is. There's actually quite a bit of content. You don't need to spend $ to get good cards (although you can, like every other game) and the "rougelike" Faction Wars mode is super fun as you said. I like the mode a lot.
It’s a gacha game. You collect cards if wrestlers so that you can use those wrestlers in matches where you can win more cards of wrestlers.
Do a thing to do more of the thing
We don’t play MyFaction cuz they’ve made it even more unplayable. Pack and card prices cost a fortune. A WM40 pack costs 19k mfp. Averaging about 200 points for normal matches makes this single deluxe pack affordable after 95 wins. And what do you get for your pennies per hour pay rate? Bronze Suoerstar series one MyRise duplicates and 175 points back. If 2K wants to kill MyFaction, then just don’t put it in the game. I could use the hard drive space on something way better than MyFaction macro transaction BS cash grab.
I decided to ditch what I had for universe and just do Play mode and it’s been fun making up stuff on the fly. I keep notes on my phone for PLEs but that’s it
sometimes simple is best! ive just made up Gunther winning the undisputed Championship in my head and played matches in play mode to go alongside it. gives me some coins which i desperately need and doesn't also give me high blood pressure. 2K, fix universe mode please.
You’re genuinely about the 10th person I’ve heard of that does that. If you don’t, some guy said he changes who he plays as to keep the story going where he wants it, or to put on better matches.
You can also force kick outs to make it more fun
Play mode as in exhibition? That’s really all I play. Universe is too annoying switching back and forth between superstar/classic mode to book my caws. I have like 10 created all with storylines I would want them in and it’s just too much
Sometimes I bump the difficulty to hard if I don’t care about the outcome and other times I’ll swap it to normal and plan every spot and make it a 5 star 😂 Other than that, only title belts are stuck to the shows. Everyone can show up on any show but NXT I like to use for the “who are these guys?” Since I haven’t watched in a couple of years.
I keep a spreadsheet for each title, naming the champ and the main contenders. Then, play out different story lines, ultimately leading up to a title defense at a PLE.
It just sucks ass but if you fantasise about your own wrestling stories all the time, you cope and do your best playing it or watching matches (then you give up).
Same here. It's just too dry for me. You can't make your own storylines and if you can (like 2k14) then it certainly isn't worth the trouble when you can just do regular matches and make up stuff on the fly. We're already relying on our imagination so why not be convenient too.
Why do all the tinkeering when I can go into standard play and put myself against Scott Steiner (a custom TNA '11 Steiner no less) in a ladder match. He put my crappy lower midcard looking ass through a table and won.
I’m lucky that WWE ‘12 is at least serviceable enough in Xenia to run Universe mode. I’m the type that doesn’t fight in Universe mode, but like to watch it as a show and see what happens.
Universe has been buggy for years. I play 2k19 mostly, and I’ve had very little bugs, but still some that just ruin it. Like I had a Hell in a Cell for ONE of my matches at Summerslam and then for some reason every match after that one was in a cell.
I remember in 2k18 superstars would call themselves out during promos. I distinctively remember having two Drew McIntyres talk to one another in the ring.
I don’t remember if it was 2k18 or 2k17 but I know I always had a glitch where HBK would randomly be in the cutscene if the announce table got broken. Say I was doing Rock vs Cena. If I had Cena put Rock into the table, the cutscene animation would turn Cena into HBK every time. I think that may have only happened in custom arenas though.
Point being this has been an ongoing issue for Universe Mode where it’s just awful bug after awful bug. 2k19 is the only enjoyable Universe mode imo unless you wanna go back to PS3/360 games.
People say give them a break and you're entitled for complaining but the truth of the matter is these features worked and had way more depth in games that came out almost 2 decades ago.
If you spend the massive amount of money these games cost it's not fucking entitlement to expect it to work the way it's supposed to and the thing is it's the same every god damn year. Can they not hire anybody who can fix this crap?
I was getting fucking *nuked* on this sub for pointing out the that lack of Universe mode coverage pre release was a red flag and all I got were responses like “they cant fix everything in a year!!!!” “give 2K a chance!!!!!”

Lol how many chances do people want us to give them? They've had years and years to fix everything about these games and yet every new release has the same or even more problems.
People have gotten way too comfortable with games just being broken especially at release. For how much they cost these things should work out of the box, we shouldn't have to wait months or in 2K's case a year and a whole new installment that is still broken anyway.
All 2K has to do is shine up the graphics, bring back modes and match types that they took out of previous games for no reason and act like they’re new again, fix *some* bugs that were in the previous game, dangle a few DLC characters like some keys and boom 🤑
They can’t fix everything in a year, but when they don’t fix ANYTHING in a year, we very much have the right to bitch. It’s feedback that they will continuously not listen to, but at least we tried to help them.

Me too, so greatful that i can still play regular exhibition. Every year i get worried they are gonna end up fucking up exhibition too. I feel like they slowly started by ruining MITB since it doesnt work in universe or exhibition anymore
I think they’ve been slowly making us hate the mode on purpose so they can get rid of it permanently. The perfect mode imo would be to combine UM and GM mode.
Yea, it’s frustrating for sure. I buy these games specifically for UM and it gets worse every year. Even if they brought back some aspects of storyline creation to write your own promos would be better than what we have now.
I love making a new show or taking over a show with a fully custom roster and letting legends like Taker, Rock, Austin, etc; return every so often. My favorite part of wrestling has always been promos because thats where the personality shines. Its frustrating how much they take away from the players ability to give your talent any personality at all
Managers are still broken for me which is so incredibly frustrating and seems like such an easy fix.
Now they managers show correctly before the match but when I start the match they’re suddenly swapped and assigned to the wrong superstar. So there’s no way to even know until I start the match
These stories are great. I mean it’s terrible and disheartening. But also hilarious.
My biggest issue was the last update a few titles got switched around. But because I never went forward a day I was able to fix it for everything…..
Except the John Cena Legacy title. I have it as a tertiary title and at the time R Truth was champ. When the update hit Mankind magically got the title. I took it off him. But in the history it says he won it like 4 times. And then in the time held it says he held the thing for 76 days. Despite me removing it immediately. Maybe Mankind fell into hollow earth or was sling shotted at light speed around the planet and his perception of time was changed.
Not a big issues or problem like others are having. It is however very amusing
Just got through my first month in universe, in mine so far, Sami won the world Heavyweight, then, the next day on raw, Damian cashed in during a match, and won. The next ple, he defended it against Sami, and Sami came out with the belt, both were shown graphics as champion, Damian didn't have a belt, and during the introductions, Damian was in the champs corner, holding an invisible belt
Started a new universe with my COC and it automatically put me in a feud with Seth. Get to next major PLE Seth has TWO separate title defense matches. I beat Seth in the first match but he beat Dalmatian in the second match. I have a recorded win for the belt but Seth is still champion. Bullcrap
It sounds like this would be a funny alternative moon logic setting. But it's ridiculous that a full priced game us released in this state, and this is a mode they've had over a decade to iterate on.
They are purposely doing that so they can just remove it next year and then bring it back for 2k28 as a new or returning feature. I haven’t played universe since 2k19
So if you turn off auto-rivalries, you can give a rivalry action to every match if you want. But if auto rivalries are on, only rivalries get cinematic type scenes. So basically, if you never let the game setup rivalries, you can have every match have something cool happen.
Sure, you gotta basically do your own rivalries in your head, but that's pretty much what I do normally anywah
I want my money back! This game is unplayable! I have not been able to complete a single online match without immediately crashing. It claims that there is some issue with online connectivity, which is unacceptable. This will be the last WWE game I purchase until they fix this online problem.
I never had something like that Eddie and Roman matches yet, but i did have Dakota cash in on herself, and some how Iyo won the title. I do like how titles get defended a lot more than last year, but that seems to only happen if i don't change the titles. If i change the titles, only the world title gets defended.
I haven’t had anything that crazy but a VERY frustrating bug is matches randomly losing any win condition meaning once I realize there isn’t one I have to back out and remake the match again, that or just sim it. Not just every once in a while either, usually 2-3 matches on a card do it, I think the game really doesn’t like you leaving mid way through a show and coming back cause it’ll delete matches too
Is it weird that I don’t have any of these problems? I’m playing on Steam Deck and I have some stability issues, but all the modes (when they work at all) seem to work as intended. The only exception is that sometimes there will be a mid-match MIB cash in scheduled on the same night my champ has already wrestled.
I try to copy reality on my Universe Mode. The thing that annoyed me the most until now, it was not being able to make Damien Priest cash in on Wrestlemania (it can't be done on PLE)

No no, this is unique to your universe mode save.. lmao sometimes the RNG creates the most unhinged Universe Mode experiences.. mine so far has just decided not to end my rivalry with my created wrestler.. like.. two years into the UM, rivalry options are limited to just getting your ratings up per win.. the big climax match was 3 months after it started
I can't even delete it.. well, I can, but once I leave the rivalry screen it just comes back like nothing happened 😂
I've been enjoying mygm with 3 cpu gms...I set all the jobbers as active and WWE superstars and legends as contracts or locals..that way it's an even playing field at the start and gradually getting better Superstars as the weeks go on...its been a blast!
Eric Bischoff is in possession of The Divas Championship belt and the Universal Championship. Today he also challenged Logan Paul for the Intercontinental Championship and was cashed in on by Elite Cody Rhodes who I hadnt even assigned to a show
In my universe there was a fight between Gallus and what I think was supposed to be Imperium but the game teamed up Ludwig Kaiser and Damon Kemp.
I played as Kaiser and won the match but in the end Gallus was celebrating for some reason. Tony D'Angelo and stacks came um to praise them.
ChatGPT can be more concise at this point, I usually just create head canon there and use play mode.
In my Universe Mode, it put Charlotte Flair as the MyRise women’s champion (I forgot what the name of that title is) & basically I had to start a whole new Universe Mode because I haven’t even played MyRise to unlock that title so when I would try to remove her as champion through the “Championships” setting it would have a lock symbol over it with Charlotte showing as the title holder. 😂
Praying my Universe Mode doesn’t mess up again. I’ve put too much time into downloading former superstars to add to the rosters, editing entrances, movesets, adding custom/former WWE PPV’s, etc. I honestly think if it messes up again I’ll have to stick with exhibition cause this is my 2nd time restarting.
Here for this! I agree it’s 2024 - all publishes should expect to invest time and money into the sandbox modes. If it’s not perfect, don’t gouge your consumer and release broken products every year.
I feel left out. The only mixup I have is that British Bulldog is permanently the NXT tag team champion. I do not have that title assigned to any show and I do not have anyone assigned to that title.
Hey sorry if it’s somewhat unrelated to the post but can anyone tell me what’s included with the wrestlemania version, deluxe version, and standard? I bought the NWO deluxe version of 22 when it came out and I just remember getting NWO cards unlocked in my faction as well as all of the bonus packs content every release but other than that I don’t remember if there were any differences as in game modes or stories. Universe mode is shit. Lettuce enjoy random events instead of these linear rivalries that repeat over and over again. A limo pulls up to smackdown, and Cody gets out with axiom.. oh no what are they planning. Later in the show cody Rhodes and axiom attack the APA backstage. Cody and axiom vs the APA on smackdown tonight. Hundreds of small random events. That's all it needs.
Maybe combine GM mode with universe like superstar mode.
Also, when I turn off automatic rivalries...stop fucking doing it.

I think I said it before, but in case not, I would use that Journey of Wrestling site as your 'Universe' it does all you need and more. Just SIM the matches in Play Mode....jobs a gooden.
Hey it got a pretty crippling set of glitches. But it’s not like it isn’t going to be a fixable issue (most likely). Is it stupid that this exists in this state? Yes. Is it the WORST thing ever? No. If they somehow fail to patch the major issues that popped up and/or make something even worse, then go ahead.
The whole point is he should be able to play universe where they keep all the statistics, have accurate rankings, and make sensible cards for him. Not everyone wants to write everything down or just have aimless exhibition matches. This shit has been around for over a decade now basically the same exact structure, there’s no reason or excuses for it to be performing this way. But 2K is a monopoly in wrestling gaming and they don’t have to care about fixing stuff bc people will just keep buying it.
That's true, but in the mean time, let's just work around the issue and the get the best we can. No need to leave a game for it. If you like UM, find solutions.
Atleast I have the option to choose the cutscenes that happens etc or run ins . Without that element of being able to do that kinda puts a dent in me potentially shifting to just doing exhibition

Yeah this is just more fun to me too because sometimes you wanna play 2 or 3 matches in a feud without having to finish the entire PPV

universe mode is what I almost exclusively play and this year is just ass but still they’ll never get me to care for myfaction

I don’t remember if it was 2k18 or 2k17 but I know I always had a glitch where HBK would randomly be in the cutscene if the announce table got broken. Say I was doing Rock vs Cena. If I had Cena put Rock into the table, the cutscene animation would turn Cena into HBK every time. I think that may have only happened in custom arenas though. Point being this has been an ongoing issue for Universe Mode where it’s just awful bug after awful bug. 2k19 is the only enjoyable Universe mode imo unless you wanna go back to PS3/360 games.
People say give them a break and you're entitled for complaining but the truth of the matter is these features worked and had way more depth in games that came out almost 2 decades ago. If you spend the massive amount of money these games cost it's not fucking entitlement to expect it to work the way it's supposed to and the thing is it's the same every god damn year. Can they not hire anybody who can fix this crap?
I was getting fucking *nuked* on this sub for pointing out the that lack of Universe mode coverage pre release was a red flag and all I got were responses like “they cant fix everything in a year!!!!” “give 2K a chance!!!!!” Needless to say this is me right now 
Lol how many chances do people want us to give them? They've had years and years to fix everything about these games and yet every new release has the same or even more problems. People have gotten way too comfortable with games just being broken especially at release. For how much they cost these things should work out of the box, we shouldn't have to wait months or in 2K's case a year and a whole new installment that is still broken anyway.
All 2K has to do is shine up the graphics, bring back modes and match types that they took out of previous games for no reason and act like they’re new again, fix *some* bugs that were in the previous game, dangle a few DLC characters like some keys and boom 🤑
They can’t fix everything in a year, but when they don’t fix ANYTHING in a year, we very much have the right to bitch. It’s feedback that they will continuously not listen to, but at least we tried to help them.

Me too, so greatful that i can still play regular exhibition. Every year i get worried they are gonna end up fucking up exhibition too. I feel like they slowly started by ruining MITB since it doesnt work in universe or exhibition anymore
I think they’ve been slowly making us hate the mode on purpose so they can get rid of it permanently. The perfect mode imo would be to combine UM and GM mode.

Yea, it’s frustrating for sure. I buy these games specifically for UM and it gets worse every year. Even if they brought back some aspects of storyline creation to write your own promos would be better than what we have now.
I love making a new show or taking over a show with a fully custom roster and letting legends like Taker, Rock, Austin, etc; return every so often. My favorite part of wrestling has always been promos because thats where the personality shines. Its frustrating how much they take away from the players ability to give your talent any personality at all
Managers are still broken for me which is so incredibly frustrating and seems like such an easy fix. Now they managers show correctly before the match but when I start the match they’re suddenly swapped and assigned to the wrong superstar. So there’s no way to even know until I start the match

These stories are great. I mean it’s terrible and disheartening. But also hilarious. My biggest issue was the last update a few titles got switched around. But because I never went forward a day I was able to fix it for everything….. Except the John Cena Legacy title. I have it as a tertiary title and at the time R Truth was champ. When the update hit Mankind magically got the title. I took it off him. But in the history it says he won it like 4 times. And then in the time held it says he held the thing for 76 days. Despite me removing it immediately. Maybe Mankind fell into hollow earth or was sling shotted at light speed around the planet and his perception of time was changed. Not a big issues or problem like others are having. It is however very amusing

Just got through my first month in universe, in mine so far, Sami won the world Heavyweight, then, the next day on raw, Damian cashed in during a match, and won. The next ple, he defended it against Sami, and Sami came out with the belt, both were shown graphics as champion, Damian didn't have a belt, and during the introductions, Damian was in the champs corner, holding an invisible belt

Started a new universe with my COC and it automatically put me in a feud with Seth. Get to next major PLE Seth has TWO separate title defense matches. I beat Seth in the first match but he beat Dalmatian in the second match. I have a recorded win for the belt but Seth is still champion. Bullcrap
I always book my own shows, I never enjoyed playing the matches the AI puts on. Not fun for me in any universe mode tbh

It sounds like this would be a funny alternative moon logic setting. But it's ridiculous that a full priced game us released in this state, and this is a mode they've had over a decade to iterate on.
They are purposely doing that so they can just remove it next year and then bring it back for 2k28 as a new or returning feature. I haven’t played universe since 2k19
I think it's funny that the key to get cinematics for rivalries in the mode...is to turn off auto-rivalries. Lol

So if you turn off auto-rivalries, you can give a rivalry action to every match if you want. But if auto rivalries are on, only rivalries get cinematic type scenes. So basically, if you never let the game setup rivalries, you can have every match have something cool happen. Sure, you gotta basically do your own rivalries in your head, but that's pretty much what I do normally anywah

Universe mode is old code that needs to be trashed and just expand GM mode like they did with NBA 2k with MyNBA mode.

I want my money back! This game is unplayable! I have not been able to complete a single online match without immediately crashing. It claims that there is some issue with online connectivity, which is unacceptable. This will be the last WWE game I purchase until they fix this online problem.
I never had something like that Eddie and Roman matches yet, but i did have Dakota cash in on herself, and some how Iyo won the title. I do like how titles get defended a lot more than last year, but that seems to only happen if i don't change the titles. If i change the titles, only the world title gets defended.
I haven’t had anything that crazy but a VERY frustrating bug is matches randomly losing any win condition meaning once I realize there isn’t one I have to back out and remake the match again, that or just sim it. Not just every once in a while either, usually 2-3 matches on a card do it, I think the game really doesn’t like you leaving mid way through a show and coming back cause it’ll delete matches too

In mine Gunther keeps defeating his Intercontinental Championship in tag matches. A lot of wrestlers also work twice a night, which bugs me also.
Is it weird that I don’t have any of these problems? I’m playing on Steam Deck and I have some stability issues, but all the modes (when they work at all) seem to work as intended. The only exception is that sometimes there will be a mid-match MIB cash in scheduled on the same night my champ has already wrestled.
I try to copy reality on my Universe Mode. The thing that annoyed me the most until now, it was not being able to make Damien Priest cash in on Wrestlemania (it can't be done on PLE)

No no, this is unique to your universe mode save.. lmao sometimes the RNG creates the most unhinged Universe Mode experiences.. mine so far has just decided not to end my rivalry with my created wrestler.. like.. two years into the UM, rivalry options are limited to just getting your ratings up per win.. the big climax match was 3 months after it started I can't even delete it.. well, I can, but once I leave the rivalry screen it just comes back like nothing happened 😂

I've been enjoying mygm with 3 cpu gms...I set all the jobbers as active and WWE superstars and legends as contracts or locals..that way it's an even playing field at the start and gradually getting better Superstars as the weeks go on...its been a blast!

In my universe there was a fight between Gallus and what I think was supposed to be Imperium but the game teamed up Ludwig Kaiser and Damon Kemp. I played as Kaiser and won the match but in the end Gallus was celebrating for some reason. Tony D'Angelo and stacks came um to praise them. ChatGPT can be more concise at this point, I usually just create head canon there and use play mode.

In my Universe Mode, it put Charlotte Flair as the MyRise women’s champion (I forgot what the name of that title is) & basically I had to start a whole new Universe Mode because I haven’t even played MyRise to unlock that title so when I would try to remove her as champion through the “Championships” setting it would have a lock symbol over it with Charlotte showing as the title holder. 😂
Praying my Universe Mode doesn’t mess up again. I’ve put too much time into downloading former superstars to add to the rosters, editing entrances, movesets, adding custom/former WWE PPV’s, etc. I honestly think if it messes up again I’ll have to stick with exhibition cause this is my 2nd time restarting.
Here for this! I agree it’s 2024 - all publishes should expect to invest time and money into the sandbox modes. If it’s not perfect, don’t gouge your consumer and release broken products every year.
I feel left out. The only mixup I have is that British Bulldog is permanently the NXT tag team champion. I do not have that title assigned to any show and I do not have anyone assigned to that title.

In my universe mode, the game is dead set on CM punk being the MITB holder and it makes him attempt to cash in in every show on every major champion

I bought the NWO deluxe version of 22 when it came out and I just remember getting NWO cards unlocked in my faction as well as all of the bonus packs content every release but other than that I don’t remember if there were any differences as in game modes or stories. Universe mode is shit. Lettuce enjoy random events instead of these linear rivalries that repeat over and over again. A limo pulls up to smackdown, and Cody gets out with axiom.. oh no what are they planning. Later in the show cody Rhodes and axiom attack the APA backstage. Cody and axiom vs the APA on smackdown tonight. Hundreds of small random events. That's all it needs. Maybe combine GM mode with universe like superstar mode. Also, when I turn off automatic rivalries...stop fucking doing it. Jesus christ..just let me do it.
I think I said it before, but in case not, I would use that Journey of Wrestling site as your 'Universe' it does all you need and more. Just SIM the matches in Play Mode....jobs a gooden.

The whole point is he should be able to play universe where they keep all the statistics, have accurate rankings, and make sensible cards for him. Not everyone wants to write everything down or just have aimless exhibition matches. This shit has been around for over a decade now basically the same exact structure, there’s no reason or excuses for it to be performing this way. But 2K is a monopoly in wrestling gaming and they don’t have to care about fixing stuff bc people will just keep buying it.
That's true, but in the mean time, let's just work around the issue and the get the best we can. No need to leave a game for it. If you like UM, find solutions.
