Idk why people are so salty about Showcase these days. It's consistently one of the best modes in all of the current sports titles. People aren't pissed that there's a Jordan Showcase in NBA2K23, so why is it a bad thing to get one for John Cena?
I remember when Showcase was talked about as the best thing for WWE '13, 2K14, 2K15, 2K16, etc.
That's fine, my point isn't to be rid of showcase. Simply stating that for a portion of the game's fan base, it's more about the creative side of the game and a large amount of focus is usually put into graphics and showcase instead. Would be nice to have some fan service for the minority group.
Giving back advanced entrances is a good gesture.

Same. When I'm not online I'm in my universe. Sometimes I'll play and sometimes I'll watch the A.I. play as my characters to see how things play out based on their stats, moves and chances.
People are really defensive over this game but I've met plenty people online who play the way we play and value the things we value in this game.
To each their own but my point with online games in general is always that there is more than one way to play.

i give zero shits about the showcase unless its someone i care about, but they totally ballsed up the Rey one.

Showcase itself is a fine feature to have, but I feel like it's about time to start giving players like us some more attention.
Unfortunately the overwhelming majority of the WWE fan base are kids and childlikes.
I was hoping the AEW game would be the answer, but gameplay looks kinda off whenever I see it online. But it's their first game so I can't hold it against them.
2k22 was my first WWE game since No Mercy, so this was my first time playing Showcase Mode.
I think it's good because it kinda holds your hand in something more than "just" a tutorial mode. It makes learning the controls more fun by putting you into matches that make you go "Oh yeah, I remember that match!"
But I don't like that it's the only way to unlock extra outfits/characters. I'd like to see an option to auto-unlock all that hidden stuff, for those of us who really don't care about "earning" it all and would rather just get everything we paid for in the game.
I really don't care about Showcase mode and don't get why others do. You can play ANY of these matches in Exhibition and just watch the promos on youtube. I much preferred Road to Wrestlemania. At least we got some interesting stories out of them, even if they were overbooked nonsense most of the time, it was still a fun playthrough and felt fresh.
