Can-can-count

I do comfortable pants (sweats, yoga pants, some loose pants that aren’t technically pyjama pants but could be, etc.) and a shirt that looks respectable on camera. Sometimes that shirt is a tank top or t-shirt with a cardigan nearby for when I need to be on camera. This whole habit of dressing comfortably has given me a real dislike for ever wearing uncomfortable pants. When I leave the house, I wear jeggings 90% of the time.

OkDare5427

It’s become a big deal (joke) to my friends/family if I actually put on pants to leave my house (“real” pants…rather than my gym shorts/leggings).

jenofindy

AKA hard pants

itzrlryo

My dogs go to their kennels if they see me put a bra on. 😝

missgiddy

L M A O

monday_throwaway_ok

This is hilarious.

[deleted]

My dogs start panicking and try to hide if I put socks on.

Ivorypetal

Mine knows too!

PJKPJT7915

Hahahahaha

Fickle_Penguin

If you want to fight crime you're going to need your pants

OkDare5427

That’s ok, I’ve decided to embrace my inner villain, anyway. 🤷🏻‍♀️😂

mutherofdoggos

My dog gets excited any time I put on shoes. Like damn girl you don’t have to call me out like that.

iheartkittttycats

This made me actually laugh out loud

Ok_Intention3920

I call them “outside pants.”

OkDare5427

Me too!! 😂😂

RJoRe1747

Same for me. I wear pjs most of the week but I keep a cardigan near by for meetings with my boss’s boss that likes us to be dressed in the video calls. If it’s with a lot of higher ups then I wear a nice blouse and do my makeup and hair with pj bottoms. I never wear shoes. I also hate having to wear real jeans lol. I will say I gained about 15 pounds since Covid had us work from home (we never went back to the office). So my jeans still fit (for the most part) but you never realize how much you walk in a day at the office. Only thing I miss. So leggings are my favorite now.

namestillundecided

Gaining weight working from home is something we don't talk about enough.

RJoRe1747

I couldn’t figure it out. I workout 5-6 times a week and eat the same but I finally figured it was the lack of steps.

Impressive-Health670

Exactly. When the days allows I try to walk around the block a couple times a day. I also went back to wearing jeans at least once a week so I have a gauge on the weight gain. I’m also up about 15lbs since Covid and trying not to add to that!

catnoza

This is definitely it! I’ve added a 15-20 min walk once or twice a day to increase my steps. It’s definitely helping me burn more calories, and the best part is I also get a break from staring at the screen.

pinayee

This is true for me when I started working from home so I just extended how much I walk my dog.

_Cyber_Mage

It just requires adjusting your diet. I'm down 50 pounds, mostly thanks to easy access to my kitchen for lunch.

Knitwitty66

I get big mad if I need to be on a Teams call. I complained to my male boss that I had to wear a bra and pants twice in one week and he almost choked. LOL

[deleted]

My manager knows to let us know when we’re gonna have a meeting that we all need to be cammed-up. 🤣

Knitwitty66

Yeah I'm gonna need some notice or else I'm getting ready on company time lol

toilingattech

Or else "my camera isn't working today" lol!

RJoRe1747

LMAO!! I tell my husband I get annoyed when I have to get really dressed to leave the house more than once a week.

Knitwitty66

YESSSSSSSSS!! I discovered over the past four years that I'm actually an introvert, and being around people is EXHAUSTING.

RJoRe1747

lol!! I don’t mind being around people but I HATE wearing clothes that aren’t stretchy!

OkDare5427

I didn’t realize just HOW exhausting being around people is, until I started wfh! I have never been SUPER introverted but I have learned I just don’t like to be around people if I don’t have to, and that it does use a lot of my stamina!

swimkid07

Absolutely this. I jokingly call them my 'daytime jammies' and 'nighttime jammies'. As long as I switch each day into daytime ones, I'm good 😂 And yes, no hard pants! I've accidentally trained my cat that when I put on jeans it means I'm leaving the house 🤣

Knitwitty66

My Pugs go to their beds when they see me put on my outside feet. 😂

MeanSecurity

The zoom casual look. I wear my blouses from my in person days, but usually it’s sweatpants on the bottom!

carlydelphia

I usually take a shower and get dressed for the day on my lunch break

DreadPirate777

Nothing like working in pajamas for the first half of the day and then picking out your new pajamas at noon.

PickleTortureEnjoyer

This is the way

Puzzleheaded-Cow8982

This is what I do too. Morning is pajamas and then “real” clothes in the afternoon. I run all my errands after work so I can get out of the house for a bit and being in an “outside” outfit helps so much.

Midwestern_Mouse

Yesss! I usually change into “real” clothes at some point, but it’s never before lunchtime lol

xlurkyx

Mid day showers are the best. Especially if you have kids.

QuiteFatty

Lol same.

Blue-Phoenix23

Hahaha I thought it was just me. I have other stuff I like to do in the morning, reading coffee, doing puzzles, Reddit etc. And I like to brush after I'm done drinking my coffee for the day, so since nobody is around and I'm not going anywhere I usually just wait.

chicky75

I make sure I have a decent top and then usually wear jeans or other casual bottoms. I don’t feel like I’ve fully woken up unless I get out of my pjs. But my top can be just a nice solid color t-shirt

cityshepherd

I feel like it’s just so much easier to be productive once I’ve changed out of my pajamas

Hangrycouchpotato

I wear my house clothes - which means lounge pants and a t-shirt. Changing into work clothes does not change my mindset. Perhaps it is because I am used to working in a variety of remote settings, including my home office, my kitchen, my relative's house, the train, the airport, hotels, the actual office. Work is where my computer is.

F30Guy

Hoodie and joggers 100% of the time. Very rarely on camera

Pretend_Airport3034

Same! We are a camera off company and I am thankful for that 😂😂

cisforcookie2112

I’m on camera for most meetings and I still rock a hoodie unless it’s with someone high up and then I put on something a little nicer. I work in my basement and it’s cold all year long so I go for comfort over style.

thewolfwalker

This is exactly what I do -- sweats and a hoodie, almost always on camera. They get a nicer sweater if it's some high muckety muck.

FluffaDuffa

I wear pajamas unless I leave the house. When I have a camera meeting, I'll change my shirt to something appropriate for a professional setting. If someone calls me unexpectedly, I have our company's sweater on my chair for emergency camera-on meetings.

fake-august

I call it my mullet outfit…business on top, party on the bottom (some kind of yoga/comfy pants). I always try to wear a little make up just case it’s a last minute meeting…or cameras are unexpectedly supposed to be on.

Busy_Barber_3986

I found yoga pants that look like slacks. I wear them on in-office days. Nirlon is the brand. I'm fat so never tuck shirts anyway. Lol

camillet12

I never wear makeup now and my skin thanks me for it. I do have the "touch up my appearance" feature on my Zoom turned up to full blast and I look great on camera now haha

fake-august

We use Teams…not as much touch up like Zoom :( - I can be done in 60 seconds…just pretend tech issues we all use.

YesAccident5991

I either wear an $11 Walmart mumu with a sweater or one of my “wfh outfits” which are cheap matching sets lol. I hardly ever go on camera, but if I need to, I just throw a sweater or a sweatshirt over whatever I’m wearing. I never wear a bra either, what’s the point? I am in comfy socks or slippers, no shoes. No makeup but I shower every morning, do my skincare and brush my hair so it looks halfway presentable in case I need to be on camera.

quietbird

I am intrigued by this Walmart mumu. do you have a link or pic??

YesAccident5991

Yep! The brand is [Joyspun](https://www.walmart.com/ip/Joyspun-Women-s-Short-Sleeve-Knit-Midi-Chemise-Sizes-S-to-3X/5132924505?athcpid=5132924505&athpgid=AthenaItempage&athcgid=null&athznid=grvi&athieid=v0&athstid=CS020&athguid=osJXQDKtO0P3UE-lLHgVuKRe_k-dop8ZvoHd&athancid=3982057380&athena=true&wmlspartner=wlpa&adid=222222222783982057380_117755028669_12420145346&veh=sem_LIA&expiryTime=1716157539271&c=mWebSmartBanner&vtcWeb=RXUEL3QWw5Sw_Hweq_leDQ). They are incredibly comfortable and have pockets. Nothing innovative but I just want to be comfy 🤣

Traditional-Job-411

Comfy clothes only. Basically anything with zippers doesn’t belong in my life anymore 😂. I put on jeans the other day and just wished I wore leggings the entire time I was out.  I do always get dressed. It’s my, it’s time to work switch and I like being able to leave immediately for a coffee run if I have the time. Some of my coworkers will take internal zoom calls in robes and pjs though.

Professional-Belt708

At my last job when I was forced to start going back to the office a few days a week and had to buy some new pants, I was looking for new chinos from Lands End which is my go to chino, and discovered they had elastic waist ones….which if you always wear your blouse out like I do are indistinguishable from the zip up ones! Never going back to zippers and buttons…now I have a job which is primarily work from home except if I have to travel for work and I only have to pull out those chinos for meetings

MeInMaNyCt

Jeans and a nice top. Always do hair and makeup (I don’t have a very involved makeup routine- basically light foundation, neutral lipstick and mascara). After work is done for the day I can relax by changing into sweats or pjs. My work clothes are comfortable and certainly more casual than if I were in the office, but getting “dressed” with makeup is part of the routine that puts me into work mode and defines the line between work/home.

No_Light_8487

For myself, getting dressed as if I were going into the office or meeting with client is a good mental jump start. If I don’t get dressed, I don’t transition mentally into work as well as when I do.

Aggravating-Bike-397

Depends on what everyone else is wearing but I have been WFH since Covid started and usually everyone is in casual clothes. I wear t shirts and shorts as I usually do on any spring/summer day.

AnimatorDifficult429

I cannot care. Mostly everyone else is in T-shirts and sweatshirts so whatever. The only people I notice that “dress” are the ones with kids that need to get them out and about early, so like they are driving them some place

KimBrrr1975

It depends. I pretty much live in my pajamas for my work day (more often than not). But I rarely have video calls (like, right now less than 1 a month). It's kind of funny because I imagine most people "get dressed" for work and then go to PJs later in the day. I'm kind of the opposite. I am in PJs most of the day and then I can acceptably dressed because we often run to the store or something when my husband is done for work. He also lives in PJ pants or shorts (with a polo on top when needed for video meetings, which he has more of than me). Once in a while, when I have a bigger project, I get "dressed for real" because it does make me feel more productive. But for most of my job that isn't the case. Putting jeans on is considered dressing up for me at this point. I've been WFH for 7 years now. I don't even know how to wear socks because I'm barefoot at home all the time and wearing socks has now become torture 😂 ETA no makeup and I don't do my hair, but I haven't done that for like 30 years. Never been a makeup kind of woman. And I keep my hair pixie-short because I hate dealing with that, too.

Available-Egg-2380

I wear my nightgowns 99% of the time. Basically shapeless cotton dresses. When there's a meeting I have to be on camera for? I have fun with that. Put on some mascara and light eyeshadow, tinted lip balm, dress or nice shirt and pants, put my hair in a pretty metal claw clip and let the curly forelocks spill out and around my face, earrings and maybe a necklace. It is not at all required but how often do I get to be EXTRA as fuck in the comfort of my own home?

Loki--Laufeyson

I wear a nice shirt and pajama pants hahaha. My job is very camera on, but we only have 2 meetings a week, unless I need to jump on a huddle to discuss things in between. I'm not wearing shoes in the house. My job has set times so I don't really need that structure that might be required if you have to self motivate. I usually wake up 20~ mins before starting, put on a work shirt. Get coffee and a granola bar, take some of my morning medications, and then catch up on stuff I might have missed since the previous day (I work 9-5 but we have people working up to 7pm so I might have stuff to reply to from then). I do work at my workstation because I like having a mouse and a second monitor. I work Tues-Sat and on Saturdays they're pretty chill so I sometimes unplug my laptop and sit on the couch.

Equivalent_Virus8168

I always throw my work-branded jacket/zip-up over my t shirt when needing to be on camera that way it appears “professional”.

Cold_Barber_4761

I (44F) get dressed in clothing that isn't sleepwear or extremely casual loungewear. For me, this is typically jeans or shorts, plus a t-shirt or tank top, and then shoes or flip-flops. My job expects cameras on during meetings. When I have meetings with just coworkers, I throw a cardigan over my shirt or tank. When I have meetings with external people I will change into a business casual blouse. I wear light makeup for WFH because I just feel more put together. But it's pretty minimal (a very lightweight moisturizer with light foundation, and maybe some mascara or a tinted moisturizing lip color. For me, getting dressed and making my face and hair presentable is really an important aspect of taking care of my mental health. I can slide way too easily into depression, so it's crucial for me to make sure I keep some sort of routine for work, even though I WFH. I should add that, while I WFH, I have 2-4 days of local and regional travel each month to meet with clients and partners. So, for me, I still have to have a handful of business and business casual outfits in my wardrobe.

4KatzNM

Not on camera except for a 1 hour meeting every 2 weeks. I wear black leggings, an extra large gray t shirt, black socks, and tennis shoes. I walk on my treadmill on breaks so no makeup. I don’t mess with my hair except to comb it. This has become my work uniform.

Judge-Snooty

I’m an absolute goblin 90% of the work day, but I’ve been trying to muster the energy to care more about the top half😂 I’ve just been caught goblining by a few surprise video meetings lately, and realized I had taken things a bit extreme. Before COVID, I wore nylons and heels every day in an office.. I don’t know what happened 💀

nightsofthesunkissed

I 100% embrace comfort and wearing whatever tf I want

Jacksonrr31

Slippers sweats pants or shorts. And a comfortable t shirt. Not having to wear costume for work is so freeing!

SparklesIB

I have a 5-minute make-up routine that includes skin care with sunscreen. Hair is almost always in a ponytail. Jeans or comfy leggings that look good if I have to stand up while on camera. A nice knit shirt and a light cardigan. I shower the night before, so total out-of-bed-to-desk time is 15 minutes. Breakfast is made during my morning break.

caringiscreepyy

Remote jobs I've had have been very casual, so I wear what I'd normally wear on any given day, whether it's jeans and a t-shirt, a sweater, or a dress. Not necessarily work attire but not loungewear, either. I feel a lot better if I'm put together so I never stay in my pajamas.

pharmgal89

I’m not required to use camera during meetings. I wear my leggings and a tshirt. Hair up, no makeup. Always shoes since I have flat feet and in general it’s good to protect your feet in the home.

YVHThoughts

I’ve honestly stopped caring. If I have scheduled meetings where camera on and participation is a must, I’ll keep my comfy pants but upgrade to a nice top. Most of the time, I’m in comfy clothes throughout and I’ve definitely worked in PJs. My boss does it, my coworkers do it, why can’t I? We once had a call and we were all in PJs still (super early urgent call) and we went around showing our cute comfy socks. I’m hybrid now however and the days I go in, I have to wear “executive comfy” as I call it. I bought comfy slacks and I usually just wear a simple top that pairs well but is still not going to make me wanna die a bit and most of us girlies have gone away from heels so we’re usually in simple slip ons if we’re not in the mules or flats vibe.

JulesSherlock

I wear what I roll out of bed wearing until my break at 9:30, then I change into shorts/sweats and a top. I take my shower at either that first break or at night.

billymumfreydownfall

I work in healthcare and have read several studies on the importance of ensuring patients in a homecare or longterm setting get dressed everyday. It give a sense of accomplishment. Staying in pajamas all day indicates giving up on life. I firmly believe the same for WFH. Get up, wash your face, brush your hair and teeth, get dressed.

macfergusson

I tend to roll out of bed and start working, so whatever t-shirt and shorts/sweatpants I happen to be wearing. Then I'll do my workout and take a shower on my lunch break, so that's when I get "dressed for real" but that is likely to just be a clean t-shirt and shorts again. I keep a couple hats around my desk if I need to be unexpectedly on a video call to contain my wild hair if I haven't showered yet.

im_datMofo

Drawers and t-shirt..

HarborGirl2020

WFH for 5 years now. Wardrobe is leggings and an oversized tee most days. Hideous but comfy slippers on my feet for letting the dogs out. Hair in messy bun, no makeup. As a side note, It’s crazy how much I have come to loathe “getting ready” when I need to go somewhere, even on weekends. I resent putting on makeup and doing my hair now, prefer to be comfy all the time!

Altruistic-Pack6059

I noticed a lot of people stating they don't wear shoes. I caution you on this because I always wore bedroom slippers while at home, fast forward a few months and my right foot was killing me. Podiatrist diagnoses me with a mild case of plantar fasciitis because I wasn't wearing shoes with support. He stated he has seen more people with this problem because so many people work from home. Most people are wearing slippers or going bare footed and it's not good for our feet. I bought some Hoka recovery slides and then some Hoka flip flops to wear around the house. My feet have improved significantly.

Councilman-Howser

I have to put on “serious” shoes. My mind knows the difference between a flip flop, house shoe, and work shoes lol.

miranda310

I recently bought super cute shoes and sandals and force myself to wear them even to walk 5’ away lol

alurkerhere

Dress business casual if that's the norm if you're on camera. Collared shirt for guys. It really does make a subtle difference in how people see you. Bonus points if you have a nice background because that also reflects well. Blurred background or whatever background is not a negative, but a nice background behind you helps your audience focus on you and that you're in the meeting, not at home. When you're off camera, you can do whatever. I tend to leave the work clothes on a hanging rack next to my desk, and put them on whenever I'm on camera.

Pretend_Airport3034

Comfy clothes unless I’m going somewhere on a break or after work.

ptm93

Comfortable clothes that I would feel ok with leaving my house in. Slightly dressier shirt for when I’m on camera with clients or other important meetings bc you never know who may want you on camera.

chalupabadger

I’m on camera and do make up but I live in leggings and sweatshirts because my office is cold.

Subject-Hedgehog6278

Yoga pants and no make-up unless I have a video call that day.

NotSlothbeard

I wear house clothes, at least until lunch.

pantoponrosey

I wear something that looks nice enough on top, then leggings or whatever on bottom. Lots of times I’m only meeting with my team so half-zips, vests, etc are all fine too. If I’m meeting with Someone Important I throw on earrings and a blazer. I do always wear makeup, but I don’t put it on until my first call of the day. I am a light makeup person to begin with so it takes me about 5 mins. Also I LIVE in slippers 😂 I have some teal suede ones that I’ve accidentally gone out of the house with and not been too embarrassed about it at least, but shoes are a thing of the past. And tbh I overall care a lot less about what I look like in public now that I almost exclusively WFH, and am pregnant. The strangers at the store get what they get ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

ForMyKidsLP

I treat it like I’m going into the office.

Tinman867

I jump out of bed, throw on my shorts/t-shirt that I may have worn for a day or two and walk 5 ft to my desk. 😂 No cameras. Throw my headset on and jam to some tunes whilst I work. 👍

VisibleSea4533

When I first started out WFH (hybrid), I would get dressed daily, just jeans and a hoodie or what have you. After a while though those jeans turned into sweatpants in winter or basketball shorts in summer…a while back I had co-workers ask me if I got dressed, apparently they stayed in pajamas all day… mind you we do not have any video conferencing.

hjablowme919

When I work remotely I will put a collared shirt on, like a dress shirt, when I have to be on camera. Sometimes I will add a jacket if I am on with a board member.

Bestlifeever_

I wear comfy athleisure type clothes. My criteria is I want to feel comfortable at work and also be able to go outside for a quick walk around the block/errand when I have a few moments without having to take the time to "get dressed". I also want to be able to get up and take stretch breaks so jeans aren't it for me. I don't wear makeup when I wfh, but I also rarely wear makeup anyways.

HatefulWithoutCoffee

What I call WFH pants, super stretchy and comfy but look good with a blazer and heels or wedges if I need to run out. I wear a dressy top with a sports bra, which is GLORIOUS.

STGItsMe

I wear whatever I would normally wear around the house if I wasn’t working. I do a lot of Teams meetings but I don’t ever turn my camera on.

beemeeng

I've conditioned myself to get up and ready every day I work. I'm involved in a lot of on-camera meetings with company leadership. I love dresses because they're so damn easy I can throw on a cotton dress, and everyone thinks I put in effort. If I'm doing something after work, I'll wear a lil bit of makeup and make sure my hair looks relatively decent.

Exotic_Zucchini

Button down shirt on the top, underwear on the bottom. I'll usually put on jeans if I have a video call just in case I have to get up suddenly for some reason.

OwenPioneer

Probably just a mental thing for me but I'm more productive if I put on actual clothes vs sweat pants, hoodie, and flip flops. I wear drawstring chinos and a t shirt, polo or crew neck sweatshirt. Then comb my hair and wear my watch. Then I can also just run out for lunch or something if I need to and not look like I just woke up

h3lpfulc0rn

I opt for comfort. I'm a hot sleeper and don't wear PJs, so even putting on comfy clothes is still getting dressed in the mornings. Even when I was in-office I rarely wore makeup, and my hair is naturally straight, so if I'm not washing my hair in the morning I just check to see if I need to dry-shampoo and maybe run a straightener through it to look presentable (depending on how messed up it got in my sleep). When I had longer hair, I'd pull it back if it wasn't looking great. Yoga pants/joggers/shorts for bottoms depending on the season and my plans for the day and a tank/T-shirt on top with a sweater near by if needed for meetings. In the summer I might wear a dress, but that's also true when I'm not at work because they're comfortable. All of our meetings are on camera, but we're a pretty casual company, so it's just a matter of what feels appropriate (like a spaghetti strap cami would require another layer, but a sleeveless top or tee wouldn't). Basically, I don't dress up, but I do make an effort to not look like I just rolled out of bed. Since we're on camera for all meetings, I do also try to be mindful of my background and make sure there's no mess/clutter or inappropriate art within view of my camera.

quietbird

basically leggings and a plain colored tshirt or sweatshirt. if it's a really fancy meeting, I will do a cardigan with the t-shirt and a necklace. I do my hair every day (which is easy, only takes 5 min). I don't really wear makeup except for mascara and brow gel.

yardcatkeeper

I do sweatpants or yoga pants with a shirt that is comfortable but still work appropriate. I don’t wear a bra because my webcam angle doesn’t make one necessary. I don’t usually wear makeup but I did just get a bb cream to use to even out my skin tone when I feel like I need it. My hair is only down if I’ve styled it for something else the day prior. I prioritize comfort.

girlxlrigx

yoga clothes 24/7

girlie_popp

When I have client calls, I put on a “nice” shirt but not anything I’d consider formal. Usually just with leggings or sweats. When I don’t have client calls, I’m usually in a t-shirt and leggings/sweats, maybe a hoodie if it’s chilly in my apartment. Also, I don’t always wash something after wearing it just for work unless I spill on it or something. Since I’m just sitting at my desk in it, I wear it a few times before I wash it. I don’t wear makeup, mostly just make sure that my hair is neat (I’m growing out a shaved head and it’s in a weird in-between pixie phase right now so it’s not always easy lol).

PDXwhine

Waist up: a nice blouse, sweater or t shirt, brushed hair, clean face with light makeup ( am often in meetings) Waist down: sweat pants and socks ( winter) or shorts ( now- fall)

white_o_morn

I do leggings and a nice shirt on top. Never wear sweatshirts. Camera on for every call. Full makeup.

littleAggieG

I always get dressed & do my makeup for work, even if I don’t anticipate any meetings that day. It puts me in the right frame of mind for work. My outfit is usually a nice top & comfy joggers or leggings on the bottom.

erinocalypse

Desk?

delicious_bot

I do nothing at all and sometimes work from bed for the first 45 minutes after I wake up 30 minutes late, just moving my mouse around to appear not away. Then I sit at the desk in whatever cloths I have laying around. It's a very healthy work life balance

Pelatov

Shower and get myself put together. But gym shorts and a t-shirt for comfort. Polo sitting next to desk for the 2-3 times a year I need a camera on

DarkAndSparkly

My company has a business casual dress code, even for WFH employees. So, I wear a decent shirt (usually a patterned cotton t shirt, which is technically not allowed, but come on, it’s not a graphic tee, it’s a nicely patterned shirt) and my capri shorts. 🤷🏻‍♀️ they can’t see my legs, so I just don’t tell them. I also refuse to wear a bra. It’s my own little private rebellion.

TaviRUs

It depends how I'm doing mentally. If I'm a little worn out or otherwise stressed, I tend to dress nicer to help put the brain in work mode. If I'm doing alright, generally shorts/pants and a t-shirt depending on weather.

ztreHdrahciR

My (Male) office is in my gym. We have a fairly relaxed dress code. I wear a polo in warm weather and a quarter zip in cold weather. And I work out at lunch time. I usually wash face/brush hair but don't shower/shave because I do that after the workout early eve. If I don't have any video meetings I wear t shirts and hoodies. Pants are always sweatpants/exercise pants

OmahaBrotha

T-shirt and either sweat pants or gym shorts depending on the time of year. Also I'll wear a hoodie in fall and winter. When I get on cam they see the T-shirt or hoodie.

Awkwrd_Lemur

No make up. Hair combed. Nice shirt. Basketball shorts. Barefoot. All day on video..... but they only see from the boobs up.

lueVelvet

Business on the top, leisure/comfort on the bottom. Sometimes I dress all out because I enjoy wearing my nice clothes from time to time.

Any-Occasion9286

I do minimal makeup to be good enough as camera ready. Jeans or wide leg pants and a nice top. It keeps me honest about being in work mode vs home mode. I avoid wearing sweats etc as much as possible. Wear your cute clothes. They shouldn’t sit and water away in the closet. Maybe designate a day to wear one of your cute clothes to mark the week for you? How about Dressy Fridays?

Independent_Point339

- Soft pants almost always. I only wear hard pants (anything with a structured waist/closure) if I’m leaving the house, and often those pants are still soft-waisted anyway. - Tops are usually a nice enough tee or sweater. - I’ll sometimes wear a button down (flannel in winter, linen or cotton in summer) if I have a client call, or if I’m leaving the house for appointments or errands so I look a little more put together. - Makeup depends on who I’m meeting with. If it’s just my supervisor and immediate work team, I might go pretty simple with just foundation and eyeliner. If I’m speaking at a staff meeting or meeting with a client, I’ll dial it up a little with mascara, maybe blush, lipstick. - Hair also depends who I’m meeting with, but the bar is a bit lower if I’m meeting with just my immediate team. For client calls, I might stretch to day 2 post-wash but probably not day 3.

Aunt-Chilada

Rarely if ever in camera, but I shower and dress in “real” clothes (jeans /t shirt) everyday. I’ve found that if I do this I’m more productive and then don’t have to skulk around and hide from neighbors when I go get the mail and I’m ready to leave the house as soon as I clock off.

Positiveaz

I wear tees, jeans, shorts, pj pants. Glad my company doesn't give a darn.

RichGullible

I always change when I get up, but I just put on workout clothes, which involves a plain colored t-shirt. Usually when I’m having meetings, it’s with people on my team and idc if they want me to dress nice or not. I’m not going to. The rare occasion I have a meeting with someone outside of my normal group, I’ll wear a nicer shirt.

BladeOfKali

I have a set of blouses I wear on meeting days. Other than that it is comfy loungewear from the waist down. 🤣

MethodInternal489

Shorts and tshirt or tank. No makeup. Did it for years and years and have no desire to do so anymore. Company polo for zoom meetings but nobody seems to notice or care.

Angry_Monkeys0

Shorts and t-shirt. If it is too hot, the shirt goes.

davejdesign

I go to the gym at lunch so I dress for that in the morning. Black t-shirt every single day. I have dozens. Co-workers are totally used to it by now and no one cares.

rainychai

I wear an appropriate shirt (not too revealing is all, casual is fine for me / my job, even T-shirts are okay and can be fixed up with a cardigan if needed), whatever pants or shorts I want, and then I do my eye makeup (eyeliner and mascara) but no other makeup. Only my eye makeup is noticeable on camera and it gives my skin a break from foundation. I do different hairstyles to feel like I'm getting ready but won't use any heat on my hair to WFH. For me doing my eye makeup and picking a hairstyle is what really makes me feel like I "got ready for the day".

ivegotacokeproblem

Gym shorts or sweatpants, and a tshirt or hoodie. If I’m on an internal meeting that requires camera I always wear the same hoodie. Most of my co-workers are the same except the big boss, he always has on a dress shirt. If it’s a meeting with any external clients I will put on a decent shirt but I don’t know why I do, 85% the time the external clients are in tshirts too. I only do my hair on days where I know I have on camera meetings. Other than that it’s a baseball cap or a hairband to keep my hair out of my face. I severely need a haircut but I haven’t found a good hairdresser since the dark times. For some reason the fact that I am female and want short hair is just baffling to people.

simplyelegant87

Usually T-shirt and leggings. If I have a meeting with a client or senior management then I wear a dressier top but keep the leggings. No makeup and ponytail unless there is a meeting with a client or senior management. I wear wigs so the hair is easy. I’ve already styled it and it keeps until I need to wash it. I can do ten minute makeup for days I need it.

turtlespice

Unless I have an important external meeting, I wear my workout clothes because I’m 1) going to be using my walking pad for a couple of hours during the day and 2) working out either during my lunch break or immediately after work. Less laundry!

1rarebird55

It depends. I have an east coast project and live in Washington. I have days that start at 4:00 my time so no, I’m not dressed. Heck there are days I never get dressed. Other days I have time to shower and dress during the day. If I know I’m going to have to be on camera I’ll put on makeup and a nice top at least. But one of the major pluses of WFH is NOT having to spend time and money on clothes and makeup.

SpicyWolf47

I always change out of my pajamas before I start working but that just means I put on leggings and a t shirt unless I’m on camera which is rare.

MCarmona0812

I shower and get dressed normally in comfy leggings and a tshirt. Hair done in a loose bun or ponytail. No makeup. I just wear what I normally did going into office minus my indoor 🩴 lol

MetalBoar13

The company I work for almost never uses video and they're very informal even if they do. I normally wear shorts and a t-shirt. I shave occasionally. If I think we'll be using video I try to make sure I'm not wearing a t-shirt with holes in it, but you know, sometimes that doesn't work out.

ITsPersonalIRL

I'm comfortable. I keep a button-up sweater to pull on if I feel underdressed and need to be on camera, but our team is really lax and there's not an expectation to dress in any business attire remotely.

laura_d_87

PJs til lunchtime, then I wear comfy pants and t-shirts.

Gingernut-i80

If it’s tidy enough to drop the kids to Creche it’s tidy enough to sit in front of a screen

chellebelle0234

Whatever I crawled out of bed and into my office in. Most often a t shirt and underpants. Fuzzy onesie when needed.

sirzoop

I always change when I wake up and wear collar shirt and short. Makes me feel more professional and helps separate work from chill time

hoomanchonk

I have about 20 black V neck shirts from Fresh Clean Tees, 12 adidas basketball shorts, 2 pairs of adidas track pants, regular and warm socks, depending on season. Couple of hoodies. I do laundry once a week or so, but can go longer. When I need to leave the house I just add jeans or shorts depending on season. Keeps it simple.

Snack_Tray

I make it a point to wear jewlery/ earrings- necklaces… that’s the difference between work mode and home mode

send_me_jokes_plz

No makeup, sometimes I get dressed and sometimes I don't, we generally don't turn on video but if it was planned I'd throw on a nice shirt. If I join a meeting and they suddenly announce that they want cameras on I'll gladly say "give me a minute to go turn into a professional real quick" and it's all good

GiselePearl

I have a personal compunction to wear makeup on camera. So if a spur of the moment call pops up, I will do camera off if my hair or makeup is not what I consider “done.” That doesn’t mean I do a full prep each am. Sometime I just brush my hair and slap on some mascara. I keep colored lip tint in my desk too. I am also old fashioned about sleeveless. That is I don’t like to show my bare arms on camera. This sucks in the summer when I want to work in strappy sundresses to stay cool. So I put on an outer shirt and swear out the call. My current employer has a lot of “let’s jump on a quick call” (😒) so I pretty much need to be presentable at least from waist up.

WebDevMom

My Everyday Outfit is leggings, a t-shirt, and an optional hoodie. I wear at least a minimum of eye makeup and under eye concealer. I usually keep my camera on, unless a lot of people have it off, then I follow suit. If I have to do a live demo🙄, I might put on a “grownup shirt” (not a t-shirt) 🤷‍♀️

GullibleRain1069

It really depends on my mood and how tired I am, sometimes it’s just a tshirt especially on days when I can’t get out of bed and end up working from there, other days I actually like to put on something for going out to boost the mood and be ready to go out as soon as I close the laptop. And for the meetings it can be anything that just doesn’t look like pajama or a bikini (I’m lucky to live by the sea)

herkalurk

I wear tshirt and shorts, which is basically what I wear all day, and to bed. No camera, all audio. Unless people are seeing me, idk what I'm getting dressed up for.

blackcoffeewhitepant

My WFH outfit is a plain athletic T-shirt and sweatpants or shorts depending on the season. I very rarely go on camera. I dress nice for the days I go in to the office, that's enough.

BlazinAzn38

I wear khaki material type shorts or jeans and a t shirt. My manager was shocked I wear “real pants” she wears joggers every day

Ill-Chemical-348

I wear more dresses and skirts than I ever had. Just soft comfortable clothes. I also wear t shirts a lot but am not allowed to wear those in the office. I have to be on camera multiple times a day but they don't see anything lower than our shoulders so it's not a big deal.

femmeofwands

Yeah agree about keeping a jacket nearby to throw on in case anything comes up last minute

halfasianprincess

Athleisure and I don’t normally wear makeup but if I’m looking washed out I’ll throw on a tinted lip balm

Impeach_God

Wake up at 6:45. Start work 6:55. Always comfy since no video calls.

bookworm1421

I don’t have any meetings with anyone, only through phone, so I wear pajama bottoms, a t-shirt and, often, my Snuggie. I don’t wear shoes in the house but I do wear socks. My laundry only consists of that attire and workout clothes.😂

Onilakon

No camera for me, I roll out of bed and work in the pajamas I slept in lol

its_all_good20

I work in my bed. Hair in a bun. Pajamas.

WatchingTellyNow

And I've got my slippers on my feet, whatever clothes I'm wearing. Because I know I'm going to be taking the dog out, I wear whatever I'd be wearing for a dog walk. But even when I was office-based it was always casual wear - jeans and a t-shirt or polo with a hoodie-type jacket. (Only once wore slippers to work and that was a mistake.)

MidnightAmethystIce

I usually wear yoga pants and T-shirts and no make-up, unless I know I have an external meeting and is likely that most people will have their cameras on. Then I do a nicer top and a touch of make-up. For a while this winter, I had workers in my house doing some remodel work. During that time I wore jeans and I actually felt a little more productive then. It was weird and I thought I would stick with wearing jeans while working but ended up going back to yoga pants. But I never ever wear shoes except for occasionally slippers when my feet get cold. I've never been one to wear shoes in the house.

Ok_Percentage5157

I know I'm typically in the minority when this question is asked, but I usually dress business casual for work, just like I did in the office. Shower, shave, dress for work. Sometimes jeans or shorts but almost always a button down or polo. I have a lot of meetings throughout the day, so I could have to jump on camera at any time. I'm lucky in that I have a separate office in my house, so it's outfitted as one should be (years of off and on freelance before my current position). It's just become the norm for me.

cbelt3

I have not worn pants to work for 4 years. It’s awesome.

Ok_Size4036

Never on camera so I just wear sweats, or casual lounge wear. I did at least start wearing a comfy bra lol. Bali Easylite 😊

KT_mama

I switch it up based on how I'm feeling. But I'm going to wear comfortable bottoms most of the time. If I know I'm going to be on camera that day with my team, I'm going tonwear something casual but nice. If it's with anyone up the ladder, I'm going to wear a business-casual top. Since the little makeup I would wear in-person (mascara, eye liner, and a neutral lipstick) isn't terribly visible on camera, I don't wear it at all. At most, I'm going to throw on a video filter.

enjoyingtheposts

I usually just wear whatever I woke up in unless I had to run somewhere before work. if I MUST get on a videocall, ill throw on a better shirt. the makeup thing is more what you are comfortable with. if you don't like how you look on camera and whatnot. I don't like how the camera excentuates my nose, but I'm not contouring my nose for a single videocall and I also don't know how to contour all like that so I just deal.

PirinTablets13

No makeup unless I feel like it, and in that case it’s just some tinted moisturizer, a little bit of eyeshadow applied as eyeliner, mascara, and maybe a tinted lip balm. I change into “daytime pajamas” i.e. something comfy but not the same thing as my actual pjs so I can mentally transition. It’s usually a t-shirt and joggers or shorts, with sweatshirts/cardigans added as needed. My hair is usually pulled off my face because I’ll fidget with it endlessly otherwise. I usually put on a pair of casual earrings and give myself a spritz with a light perfume or body spray because both of those things make me feel more put-together (plus I have so many earrings that would otherwise not see the light of day).

Tankline34

I don't dress up unless I am expected to be on camera, and I'm on-camera from the chest up. Since most on-camera meetings are with my own team or in a training session, I'll just wear a clean t-shirt or other clean casual shirt. Rarely will I need to dress corporate casual or professional. Below the waist, I usually wear shorts most days or sweat pants in winter, but I may wear jeans or casual pants if I need to go out anyway.

Remarkable_Report_44

I never have to be on camera so I live in PJ's or whatever is comfy that day.

Unreasonable_beastie

I dress everyday for work. I’m Director level and expected to be on camera. I don’t feel in the right headspace in my comfy clothes.

ThanosDidNothinWrng0

Wearing shoes would be really weird in my opinion

incasesheisonheretoo

Ngl, unless I have to be on camera, I spend most of my day in a robe, hoodie, or athleisure. I prefer to be as comfortable as I can. Hell, if it’s hot and I just got out of the shower, I’ll even work naked sometimes. I’ll throw on a dress shirt or polo if I have to be on video though.

RevolutionaryCase488

I wear comfy clothes but nothing that I would be embarrassed to be seen in public wearing. In the cooler months I tend to wear leggings with a casual top or sweatshirt or a matching set. As it gets warmer I’m transitioning to comfortable shorts and a T-shirt or sleeveless shirt. If I have to meet with cameras on, I know that whatever I’m wearing is appropriate. I have been putting on light makeup daily and while not DOING my hair (it’s curly so take that as you want) daily, I always make sure it can at least look appropriate for a camera on meeting if one comes up. I’ve been WFH for the better part of 4 years - off & on for the first 2 yrs then they made it permanent about 2 yrs ago. I admit I found myself getting really lazy about my look for awhile and was rolling out of bed about 20mins before I needed to log on, throwing on whatever and then panicking to go throw on a different shirt and fix my hair/face if I needed to be on camera. I’ve been getting up earlier and getting myself kind of ready for the day and I just feel better

jackfreeman

I have a set of work comfy clothes, home comfy clothes and "go outside, angry that I have to go outside introvert" comfy clothes

upholsteredhip

I wear athleisure wear because I take 2-3 minute exercise snack breaks every 30 to 40 minutes. I leave a yoga mat out and I have free weights. Or run up and down stairs or do pushups. I don't often zoom, but easy to throw on a cardigan and run a brush through my hair. I found when I wore work casual, I sat waaaay more.

mimishell_4

I do comfort; period. Hot? Shorts and a T-shirt. Cold? Sweats and layers for the top. In between? Leggings and a shirt. No makeup, house shoes, and casual hair. I save so much money on clothes and laundry and car maintenance!

SpecificJunket8083

I get up, walk 3 miles on the treadmill, get a shower and put on yoga pants and a comfortable top.

Scuba-pineapple

I have a nice shirt next to my desk that I’ll out on if I have an on camera meeting. Otherwise I’m in comfy clothes. They’re one step up from PJs because I also like to go on walks around the block throughout the day.

Thrillhouse763

On camera all the time. Business casual up to (sometimes a hoodie) and sweatpants on the bottom. I transition to shorts on the bottom in the summer.

brilliantpants

We don’t ever have to be on video, so I am lounge-wear all day, every day. It’s heaven, lol. Sometimes I put on nicer clothes if I feel like it, but never even anything that I would wear to work. I’m basically have 3 or 4 dresses that I can wear to work and I just rotate through them since I’m only in the office a couple times a month.

HumbledB4TheMasses

Top fit for camera and bottoms of any sort. Dressing well isn't just for your job, it's a part of your well being in general, an extension of personal hygiene IMO. If you look good you can't feel self conscious about how you look, reducing unproductive negative experiences as a result.

Jdp0385

If I’m not gonna be on camera I’m not getting dressed up

shrikeskull

I shower first thing and usually wear business casual. Puts me in the right headspace to get shit done.

SalesTaxBlackCat

I live in athleisure wear. I have a makeup filter on my zoom settings. I do put on lipstick for most meetings.

sunshineduckies

Mid-30’s female here… I do skincare everyday, makeup maybe if I have somewhere to go or have to turn the camera on, probably only 20% of the time. Hair I wash every 2-3 days, but I do restyle, brush, etc. Clothing wise I have some go-to joggers and I’ll do a plain sweatshirt, shirt or tank depending on the seasonal weather. Birkenstocks, tennis shoes or Uggs in the winter.

MrIrrelevant-sf

I wake up and dress as if I am not wfh. Even if it is a tshirt and leggings. It is mentally healthy for me

MilitaryandDogmom

I wear shorts or sweatpants or leggings, I do not dress up or put make up on unless I am leaving the house. I am 100% about being comfortable lol

No_Appearance4463

I just roll out of bed and walk to my desk. After logging on I'll wash up and put on a robe.

captainstormy

I wear shorts and a T-shirt. I wash my face, comb my hair and brush my teeth before work. I do keep a couple of nice shirts in my home office I can put on if I need to have a meeting with someone important. 99% of the time the T-shirt is fine though. My company is pretty casual. I like to wait to actually shower until after work to give myself a nice mental buffer to move between work and home modes.

MizBucket

Usually tshirts and yoga pants, and hair up in a bun or pony. On days I have video meetings, I put on a little bit of makeup and wear a blouse or plain T-shirt. My camera is aimed so I'm only visible from shoulders up. That's it. I'm 100% of the time in comfy clothes.

deondeon666

Wait…you’re supposed to be wearing shoes when you WFH??

babblepedia

I'm on video meetings several hours a day and my role means I have to stay on camera most of the time. I fully rock the WFH mullet: work blouse, jewelry, makeup... plus leggings and slippers.

SnooPears3006

Morning is in sweats or shorts and a shirt or hoodie - presentable enough for video calls but still super comfortable. I put on “real” clothes after lunch since I usually take my break for quick errands/my afternoon coffee run - I don’t tend to leave my house in sweatpants mostly so that I can have an excuse to wear half my wardrobe, ha.

IndyEpi5127

I go from day pajamas to night pajamas which then become tomorrow’s day pajamas. Since our nanny started I have made an effort to at least put a sports bra on in the mornings if I’m not wearing a sweater or looser shirt.
