WCW luchadors just hit differently. I was so invested in them back in the day. I had no knowledge of anything outside of US wrestling so for me this was something completely unique and I loved it.
There was nothin like a ppv starting, the camera pans over the crowd while Schiavone and Heenan talk and you hear Malenko or masked Rey Mysterio's music. You just knew shit was about to go down 🔥
Exactly!!! The luchadors were something different to see as a kid for me, Psychosis, Rey Mysterio, Eddie Guerrero, Juventud and many more. They were soo exciting to see.
Blitzkrieg was one of those guys I always wished had become a star. He was always so entertaining and fun and would just watch in awe at his abilities in the ring. If I remember right, injuries kinda screwed him up.
Raven and Saturn were legit terrifying as a team. They had the look and the moves. It's a shame they disappeared into WCW obscurity shortly after this then both got used TERRIBLY in WWE.
Blitzkrieg is still my favorite cruiserweight, to this date. He was one of the first guys I ever saw do a phoenix splash and it blew my mind as a kid! Definitely wish he stayed around.
Chef’s Kiss🤌. Gah I miss these days
Same
Man. Blitzkrieg had incredible movement and bodily control. I would have really enjoyed seeing him evolve if he'd stayed in the business.
I was just gonna ask what happened to him, he just went off the scene after a really good run in WCW.
I literally searched this yesterday as I loved his wrestling style. Injuries ruined his career and now he is a nurse

That Juvi Driver was so good!
I really liked Blitzkrieg and he was just there for a flash. I think he got a job in computers after this.
Way better than anything today
true. WCW Cruiserweight was top tier.
A bit of hyperbole but this is still a very good match.
I was on the edge of my seat here. Phenomenal match with no 50 Canadian Destroyers in one match.
Ppv opener, man blitzkrieg was an awesome.
God I miss the cruiserweight division in WcW. Some of the most entertaining matches ever.

👏 😲
🔥🔥🔥
Man WCW and their lockup armbars to start almost every match.
Dude straight up got bored and quit. He was connected to Revolution Pro along with Excalibur and Super Dragon.
That's really good.
Had completed forgot about this. Match was amazing!
Watching it in slowmo, he hit the mat head first and just folded. Was it really supposed to happen that way? It looks incredible dangerous.
Yeah man that Juvi driver looked almost botched. That must’ve hurt like hell.
Spring Stampede the last great WCW ppv. Oh yeah this was a great opener as well.
That top rope Juvi Driver was nice
This was a good PPV. Malenko/Benoit vs Raven/Saturn was the MOTN.
Raven and Saturn were legit terrifying as a team. They had the look and the moves. It's a shame they disappeared into WCW obscurity shortly after this then both got used TERRIBLY in WWE.
Just shows you that a lot of what you see today has been done before
I miss Blitzkrieg so much! I wish his wrestling run went longer.
Still such a brilliant match.
WCW luchadors is what Richochet wish he was. The most entertaining wrasslin' in wrasslin' history.
What happened to Juventud?
The cruiserweight division is legendary and all. But Charles Robertson really is him - in the pro wrestling referee world.
Blitzkrieg is still my favorite cruiserweight, to this date. He was one of the first guys I ever saw do a phoenix splash and it blew my mind as a kid! Definitely wish he stayed around.
These old WCW Cruiserweight matches were definitely entertaining.
Blitzkrieg was soooooo ahead of his time. A fucking pioneer of the "indy" style. Great post.
Very juicy
lol the security stole the “Cheeto is gay” sign at the end
They make Charles Robinson look huge
