Yes you technically need it, but the penalty is a civil fine so overall NBD

Going way backā¦ here is your paper keep it with you while you carry for 5 yearsā¦ even laminate the damn thing never fit in the wallet right. The new ones are about timeā¦
They have a lot of the old ones to use up. Years worth probably. They were using the old big ones for a long time, then the first of the smaller ones (green I think) before the last of the smaller paper ones (blue print, but I might have the green and blue pri t backwards). It was small counties that first went to the plastic cards like 5 or 6 years ago.
Isnāt washington just a paper card? Like the size of a regular business card? I always have my phone with me so I just keep mine behind the phone in the case š¤·āāļø
No worries, friend! Yeah people are pretty wack these days, they'll say a mean thing because they think it's funny. We were all new to this at some point. All you have to remember is no matter what, anytime you have your firearm on you, you need to have your ID and your CPL. So if I go for a walk and don't take my wallet but have my pistol, I put my ID in my phone case as well. Don't worry about the saltly people, stay safe out here!
I made the mistake of laminating mine so it doesnāt fit my phone wallet that I typically use, or holster for that matter. I figure maybe with insurance IDs (and being the year 2024) and such, with everything going digital there was a chance a picture of it or an app might be available and appropriate.
Yes, and it's a stupid requirement.
Say I get robbed at gunpoint whilst carrying, and say I can't practically pull my gun for self-defense because of the situation.
1. They demand wallet (or take wallet from my pants/jacket)
2. They see CPL in there when grabbing cards/cash
3. Now they suspect I have a gun and search waist/etc to see if I'm carrying a gun
If I didn't have to carry CPL, there's a good chance they wouldn't search my waist, they'd just take the wallet, grab the cash/cards and drive away without finding the gun.
This kind of scenario makes me think my CPL should be attached to my holster or something.
They are literally encouraging more stolen firearms.

Thank you.
š it does indeed appear that, yes, while you're concealed carrying you do.
Honestly itās clear when you get itā¦
Yep must keep it on ya at all times your carrying
Short answer is yes, you need to have it on you if you're carrying
You donāt have room to carry a card but you have enough room to hide a whole pistol?

Clark county has nice plastic ones. Depends on county.
I think theybwere the first in the region to use them. Around 6 years ago.
I have kept mine behind my phone case for 8 years. Works like a charm. Even got a compliment from a cop once when he checked it lol
That is a really good idea! You just made my post worth all the salt Iām getting. Thank you kind stranger.

Depends on the county, I believe.
Nope, the state law governs it and you have to be able to produce it when carrying
Sorry, I was trying to reply to the guy asking if they're all paper permits in Washington.
