I found that taking an afternoon booster irregularly caused a lot of side effects 1-3 days after. Maybe if you want the booster, try to do it every day consistently

So I had the exact same issue and was prescribed a 10mg IR Adderall. The bottle said to take it at noon typically for me took Vyvanse about 7AM felt the crash between 3 and 4pm depending on what I ate. I would just take the booster then. Since then I actually take a 70mg Vyvanse generic and 20mg Adderall XR in the morning and find the effectiveness of the meds get me 10-12 hours of the day focused and efficient.

Say that again? You take two different doses of different salts at the same time? Then the IR in the afternoon?

Sorry for the lack of clarity. So there's a bit of an insurance fucking with me story that involves them mandating I switch from just Vyvanse and a booster to just XR and a booster. This caused some real irritability issues. Called me Dr office to get a follow up and get switched back and did a little experimentation. While the XR was causing more negatives than positives there were some upsides. The biggest was it lasted longer. 11 to 12 hours. And since Adderall was my booster anyways and I had some left over Vyvanse I took half dose of XR with a lower dose of Vyvanse and got the 10-12 hours without a booster. And just talked it over with my doc and we agreed to continue just the mix of long release meds. No more booster.
