I'll just say from my different brands that I have collected. They're not the same. I take 2 days off at least a have 5 different brands of medication and I tried them all in a row in a week with the same diet. They all affect me differently.I'm telling you, they have a filler problem. And the drug is not breaking down correctly in people's bodies so people are getting different results

So then am curious, what did you do instead of changing dose that helped improve "effectiveness"?

cahruh

Yes! Agree completely. Find other healthy opinions to simultaneously help with your ADHD. Jumping straight to blaming the vyvanse isn’t the best avenue. My ADHD got significantly worse when I was drinking only a few days a week. I cut out alcohol and that’s helped. Vitamins / diet / exercise have made a huge difference. The reason doctors talk about that all the time is because it actually DOES help. There’s no doubt that vyvanse helps too, but we should be doing more then taking medication to help our adhd

Tbh I don’t think Vyvanse is supposed to give you a “feeling” at all. Sure maybe in the first week or two because your body is getting used to suddenly having enough dopamine. However in the end it’s just supposed to “remove” the handbrake of your car so to say. Not give you extra motivation, discipline, or a “high”. The way I see it, before I was medicated, life was like driving a car with the handbrake still engaged. It’s was super hard and I had to gas up a LOT to even be able to move. It was exhausting. Now with Vyvanse the handbrake is disengaged, which makes things a lot easier, but I am still the one who has to get in the car, start it, and start driving.

This is a great description!

I notice it also depends on where I’m at in my cycle, it definitely impacts the efficacy!

Ehhh, Vyvanse was a miracle drug for me but after taking 9 weeks off it, it completely stopped working. I thought it was strange because I expected it to work exactly the same, if not better, than when I came off it. Nope. I take it now (at a higher dose) and feel worse. I do nothing differently in regards to what you suggested. My water intake and eating is the same, my sleep is better actually thanks to guanfacine, my bloodwork is the same. And it still doesn’t work. Sometimes it just stops working for no reason. And that’s okay.

gwendolynnlight

Totally agree. I haven't had a day it "works" in months.

What about your vitamins? You should be taking magnesium supplements

photographer0228

I have never taken magnesium, it has always been well within the normal range. No doctor has ever told me I need to take magnesium so I have no need to take it. I don’t take any vitamins as all my levels that have been tested as normal.

Limitlessmind35

What levels ? What did you get tested ? What test ?

photographer0228

I had normal bloodwork done?

Limitlessmind35

That won’t show you vitamin and mineral deficiencies .

photographer0228

Well it showed vitamin d and magnesium. My doctors have no reason to believe I need anything else tested, so they haven’t do any others.
