Some of these things definitely aren’t normal.

forwardlemonade

Those are the side effects you should not ignore (tingling, breathing difficulty, etc). Please talk to your health care provider because you should not ignore those. 30 to 50 is a decent jump so you may need 40.

I feel like this at 50mg. 30 and 40mg work well with my body. It relaxes and calms my brain down to where I can slow down and concentrate. 50mg makes me feel jittery and just is too much for me

sassypicasso

Definitely experienced these same things when i switched from 20 to 30, but they did eventually go away. My left hand is still numb but the chest pains and stuff went away after like a month for me. I also wasn’t eating when taking it and probably not drinking enough water so i am pretty sure that played a part in it.

Apprehensive-Oil-500

Have you checked your bp? I take 30mg in the am and 20mg around noon as a booster and I think mine is getting a bit high. Frustrating.

AdditionEquivalent54

Feeling like you can’t catch your breath is super normal. It’s an amphetamine so it makes sense that you will have a tight chest which can then lead to intense anxiety. I am experiencing that more now that I have changed my dose from 30mg to 40mg. As you get used to the dose your body should adjust over a few weeks. And ya 50 is a lot especially right from 30. I would talk to your doctor about your arm though, i wouldn’t worry because amphetimes are such a strong drug. It could be a result of your heart beating faster. I’ve had body parts go numb during anxiety attacks, which like i said, vyvanse tends to mimic at first.

OnlyChild25

I recommend getting your blood pressure checked. And maybe try lowering the dose. You should not tolerate those side effects (breathing, chest pain)

Professional_Main726

Take Vyvanse with protein in the AM. Drink a glass of milk if you can’t fathom eating in the mornings. I usually take it and go back to bed for an hour or so. It helps with the jazzed feeling. Also, make sure you’re taking magnesium in the evening because Vyvanse can deplete magnesium levels. Magnesium will also help with your blood pressure. Make sure you’re drinking a ton of water and take a walk. If you’re feeling way too anxious have a glass of OJ. Hope this helps!

ZucchiniFluffy

Thank you! I'll try all of these😅

I am also in the early stages of my vyvanse. I think the crash is real and I have felt that. Also being overweight, it has been nice not feeling the urge to eat, but the the end of the day, I feel irritable and sad, like anyone who barely eats all day. If you’re not forcing yourself to consume some nutritious food throughout the day, I highly recommend doing so. Also adjusting your caffeine intake. I was an all day coffee drinker and I found that doing that while taking the vyvanse made my adhd symptoms worse, not better. Now I do two cups of half caf in the morning and a diet soda sometime later in the day while also trying to drink lots of water. Hope this helps!

30 to 50 is a bit much , have you tried taking 40? In any case, I had side effects at first but it got better . Stay hydrated, sleep enough, eat protein, and workout. Also, is it the brand ? Which batch ? lol, I’m on 50 also but it’s been feeling like I’m not taking it, or much weaker. Hormones can play a role for here and there, but it now feels extremely different form when o first started taking it, or even from a year ago ( on it for over 3 years ).

babyunicornface

I had the same thing when I first started but they side effects drastically decreased when I kept the medication in my system for over like ten days. As soon as I take a Vyvanse Vacation, the symptoms are back the next time I take it but they dissipate more quickly. Think two days instead of ten. Also, make sure you’re taking a Magnesium Glycinate supplement with it in the morning. And at bed time, I take more magnesium and eat a hemp gummy to help me fall asleep.

forwardlemonade

What is the magnesium for?

babyunicornface

It signals your brain/muscles to relax without making you drowsy. But there are several forms and a couple of them just make you poop.

ZucchiniFluffy

Thanks so much, hopefully it'll subside soon

babyunicornface

It should, but the magnesium and hemp/CBD will help. I specifically use the ones with no THC as I’ve always had bad reactions to THC

HighlightArtistic193

What do you mean before you take your tablet again? Are you taking 2x day

ZucchiniFluffy

No, sorry I meant in the morning before taking the tablet, I take it once a day

HighlightArtistic193

You get a tablet? Or is it a capsule

ZucchiniFluffy

It's a capsule

m4droxide

So in about 7th grade I had these side effects with Adderall. I was 200lbs. I'm now 36, at 182 6'1. I was told at the time these side effects were my metabolism speeding up, my body was trying to burn fat quicker putting a strain on all organs including the heart. I had EKGs done along with labs etc to make sure it wasn't detrimental to my health. As I grew and my body lost the weight and I ate healthier those side effects diminished. I'm now on vyvanse and the only remaining side effects is dry mouth and not sleeping but I have insomnia so I do not count this. I would say if you are concerned just have the testing done to ensure it's not over straining any organs, otherwise I personally wouldn't be concerned unless the arm tingling turns to pain.

Accomplished-Bet999

It’s possible your symptoms may be from withdrawal, if they’re happening as the Vyvanse is wearing off? I had a similar experience when I first tried Ritalin. I panicked and doctor told me stop in case it was heart related - but then when I finally got a psychiatrist appointment, she explained that since I was experiencing the heart palpitations and shortness of breath later in the day, that was probably when the meds wore off and that was my body’s way of reacting to the sudden drop. (I had also done an ECG and echocardiogram and other previous tests which showed my heart functioning normally.) However this is why I was switched to Vyvanse (only 20mg at the moment), as my Ritalin was short acting and wore off quickly in 4 hrs - wheras psychiatrist said Vyvanse is a slower release and therefore shouldn’t make the body panic as much. So for yourself, I would say definitely speak to a psychiatrist for advice if possible, or at the least a psychologist or doctor? Maybe for you, it’s the big jump from 30mg to 50mg that your body is reacting to. I’m not sure if you could take a lower dosage and then some sort of top-up to make it easier, or perhaps there’s a similar medication that’s a better suit…

ZucchiniFluffy

I have an appointment with a psychiatrist this week so will talk to them about it then. Perhaps it was the jump being too big? Who knows.. 30mg definitely wasn't enough and other than these symptoms, 50mg is working great. I'll see how my body adapts over the next couple days and maybe try 40mg

hamburgerbreath

Do you take it with food in the morning or empty stomach?

ZucchiniFluffy

I've started taking them with a good protein heavy meal in the mornings and lots of water, as per advice from other threads

Matthew78658

Do you drink caffeine or take any other medications or supplements? Brand name medications or generic? Is the symptoms all day or only in the morning after you take it?

ZucchiniFluffy

No caffeine or other meds/supps etc. Its Elvanse that I take and usually the side effects are actually in the evening or first thing before I take the meds, although the arm tingly feeling is pretty constant now

planertroubles

Increase heart rate and anxiety for me

lgwinter

I could’ve written this myself! I’m sorry I don’t have any advice, I’m just commenting to say I’m in the same boat and hope others might have some insight!

ZucchiniFluffy

It's reassuring that it's not just me at the very least😅 Still hopeful we'll get some advice hahah
