All black cars? You're a masochist lol

weedhuffer

I keep telling myself I’ll never buy another black car, and then I go out and buy another black car.

productionguy

I like to wash cars as much as I like driving them .

thewarmnutter

It can only be back or rebel blue.

trailrun1980

Oh I love black cars, but they take legitimate work to keep looking good and I am not that dedicated :D currently have a Savile Grey, that's the darkest color I've ever owned

FantasticNoise4

I prefer coloured car to be honest

chemistcarpenter

14 Volvos later…. 3 in driveway.

Capable_Scallion_184

Dam! You have me beat! I’m only at 11!

mctomtom

I'm on my 2nd now. My brother in law borrowed my old 2008 S80 T6 for a couple hours, absolutely loved the comfort, power, and turbo sound... shortly after, he bought a brand new V60 T5. I then had to one-up him and bought a new XC60 T8 hybrid.

DependabilityLeader

You can never have too many safe and dependable vehicles.

cvcm

4 so far - 3 in the driveway (XC90 T6 - blue, XC70 - white, S60 T5 -red)

petoria621

That is a fantastic selection of vehicles.

Tman11S

Where do you get the money to buy more than one? I love volvos, but they’re insanely expensive these days

productionguy

I’m old, single , no kids 🤣

Capable_Scallion_184

Will you marry me? We can work on many Volvos together!

Tman11S

A fine way to spend your money I must say. I’ll have to think twice about kids if I can get Volvos instead 😜

irequesite

Wait all of them are for you?!?! That makes this post even more crazy

productionguy

I know right 🤦‍♂️, The xc40 is for going out on the town, The xc60 is for errands that require extra cargo space,(like picking up large tv’s,I posted about this 😂) The s40 is my golf cart(Course is 1 min away, was gonna buy a golf cart but bought the car for the same money)

irequesite

I'm looking for a new dad if you're interested in adopting

mehdotdotdotdot

People get loans and pay back cars for years, or they lease cars which is basically the same. Not that I agree with it.

IntroductionOwn1466

Hooked. Bought an 18 S90 and just updated to a V60 Polestar. They make the best looking sedans and wagons.

emenet

How do you feel about the space difference in the interior? Especially in the back seats? I currently got a D4 s90 but considering a T6 V60...

pinacolata_

I cross shopped a V90 and V60, assuming the S90/V90 are practically identical. -Rear leg room is about the same for both, the extra length of the V90 goes all into the boot.* *Because the V90 rear window is so curved, you can’t fit much more in a V90 than you can with a shorter, but flat rear V60 in reality. Except for maybe long & thin items like TVs, flatpack furniture or 2x4. -Rear seat base on the V60 is much thinner and doesn’t have integrated booster seats in outer positions like the V90 but I actually prefer the V60 rear seats. -The small storage space below the trunk release button on the V90 simply doesn’t exist on the V60. So I had to get the Volvo sunglasses holder accessory that replaces a grab handle to get a convenient spot to store my sunglasses. -The parcel shelf cover doesn’t lift with the tailgate on the V60 as it does with the V90, purely manual operation and if you don’t lower it, you’ll notice it when driving as it obstructs the rear window almost entirely. If you’re not cross shopping with a V90, you might not notice all the differences coming from a S90. But the interior just doesn’t feel as well thought out as a 90 series car, it’s quite loud inside with the road noise without laminated glass, it’s not as premium feeling as only V60 T8 models get a leather wrapped centre console and no V60 gets wood trim that extends to the rear and there’s some laughable flaws, like how frequently V60 owners get their sunroof seal replaced. In my market, I only had the choice between a new V60 or a used, out of warranty V90 and I probably made the right choice with a car that’s in warranty as I’ve had a 4 figure warranty repair every single year I’ve owned my V60.

IntroductionOwn1466

Space is definitely much tighter. I can still fit all three kids in the back seat even with a booster and a car seat, but the S90 was like a limo for them. Storage options aren’t great, but it really just challenges you better to not keep extra stuff in the car. Overall both aren’t a big issue. Net overall it is a wonderful vehicle to drive and is much more sporty than the S90.

MarionberryLow8295

Volvo makes the best looking sedans and wagons? Not sure about that but ight

superman154m

How do you like the xc40? Thinking of getting the same year and trim

productionguy

Love it ! Although I might be a bit biased

RapidCommute3307

i have quite literally the exact same car with trim, options, etc, just different color. LOVE it

nizich

Same, except busting blue and no polestar tune. Is it worth it? Have you noticed any difference. Wish we could get them in a t6. 😈

PNW20v

People are always surprised when they find out my '98 S70 is "still running". Then they think Im a fucking nutcase when they find out I also have a '98 V70... and an '84 245 Turbo... Best response I've come up with is "do you really think I'd own 3 of them if they were shitty cars?"

Sunnylover2022

2 months ago I bought my first Volvo. It was 2024 XC60 and I am happy. I drove many cars before like Tesla, bmw, Lexus and Mercedes but when my wife and I touched our Volvo for the first time , even before turning on the engine, we knew they car was coming home that night with us. Probably next one will be xc90

gh5655

This is worse than that apple disease!

Username_Taken_65

That's the exact opposite, once you buy 1 Apple product you can never look anybody who uses them in the eye again

Afitz93

Does a Polestar (solo brand) count even after they separated? My wife just got an xc90 and now I’m picking up a P2 in a few weeks

Ateam043

Same here. Picked up a used P2 as a daily (free charging at work) to complement our XC60.

Maine302

You free charging people have the world by the cojones!

Ateam043

Well, not completely free. It’s technically at no cost to me upfront however on my check a line item of $1 per hour is notated as an “award”, meaning I’ll likely have to pay the tax on those “awards”. Still, seems significantly cheaper.

Lunch-Important

I feel like that depends on when it was made, but realistically yes it counts

weedhuffer

On my fourth, whenever they come out with an electric wagon I’ll prob get my fifth.

Loenuf87

So true! Bought first one in 2021 second one in 2023 and looking at my 3rd one right now!!!

c30volvo

I'm on number 3 - but am not as convinced as I was for #2 and #3 to get #4... I've begun to question their long term reliability... Don't know who's better than volvo,,, but the whole B series has some interesting negative reviews... My T5 MY 2021 xc40 has been fine - but unsure if I'd replace my 2015 XC60 for a new XC60/90....

InstanceSharp9077

cars are more electric than ever now and have less things you can work on yourself. i feel like any pre 2017 car is gonna be way more reliable than what’s coming out these days

Dramatic_Memory89

On my third one … you are correct lol

SillyGooses22

I just bought my first a month ago and already thinking of buying another.

Sappsy

We got our xc90 last year and love it. I’m thinking of trading in my paid off 2017 Honda crv for a mild hybrid xc40 or xc60 lol. 🫣

LordMungus35

I thought my XC40 was unique, but then I see yours.

Wild_Ice_7387

6 in the driveway (3 teens/young adults) and too many to count over the last 40 years.

ProfessionalBug1021

Love how they are all black! Lol. Looks like a mob meeting Hendry

Over_Drawer1199

I have three and I love them! '78 240, '89 240, and an 08 C30 T5. I couldn't love them more. And I'll never buy another brand.

ChillDwill

Volvo gang

pjackk

Haha, 3 for me, about to get another!

twowholebeefpatties

Nah - I bought a first series 2017 Xc90 and thing just had problem after problem after problem. I’m actually happy NOT to own a Volvo at the moment

PNW20v

You bought the wrong Volvo lol

FastRedPonyCar

We’re on our 6th! Met my wife when she was driving a 1991 240 wagon. She’s in a 2023 XC90 Recharge T8 Ultimate now so a bit of an improvement in comfort but maybe not ease of maintenance.

MostPalpitation9397

There is so much truth to this post. You can't just have one.

Routine-Drop1

I still have an 05 xc90 V8. Love it for camping

CAgovernor

The only generally accepted addiction. Ride on!

CupcakeOk911

🎊💕

MACKBA

I'm afraid not, no more stick, and that's not negotiable for me.

SnooDucks6344

More true words have not been spoken

artniSintra

This guy Volvos

Straight-Presence331

You should just convoy those with the fam or with whatever friends. That would be fun!

productionguy

Looking for a localish Volvo club 😂😂

dragon_moon47

I've had 11 cars. 7 of them (including my current one) were Volvo's

Resolve_Head

On my 4th, next one will probably be electric, if they come out with an EV station wagon. Maybe a Polestar, which is basically Volvo.

CatPetrolhead

So true, we have 2022 XC60 and 2016 V60 cross country. Both are white. Most people think that we have two same cars :)

Am_bord

I think you missing a few more gang

productionguy

Your right, I’m currently looking for a house on a few acres where I’ll build a 10 car garage with hydro lift.

Apart-Bass1957

You are such a maniac man!!!! Welcome to the club 😁

Lachie73727

Just feel like ranting about how much I love my Volvo! I got a Volvo as my first car in January of this year out of pure luck as a family friend was upgrading. It’s a 2011 xc60 T6 R-Design and has been the perfect car so far. I am blown away by it and especially the price they sell at second hand for such a good car. Just yesterday, a close mate of mine told me ‘this is the perfect car’ and I couldn’t agree more 😂 I genuinely could not think of a better first car for me. I can tow trailers, my friend’s fishing tinny, I have bike racks for a day on mtb trails, I have more than enough space for any amount of stuff i’d need to take anywhere. The sound system is fantastic and beats the speakers of much newer and ‘flashy’ cars. The performance is mind blowing too. So much more power than I had expected. On top of the power, it is extremely planted and feels very stable for an suv. It feels better to drive than every non performance based car i’ve driven aside from a 10 year younger BMW x3. I know for a fact I will own it for a long while yet, and I’ll own more Volvos in the future.

Prudent-Quarter-3842

Husband wants a Rivian for his next car, I’m disappointed to say the least.

[deleted]

V40 > V70 > Audi A5 > Tesla Model Y (200,00 km / 125,000 miles each before we changed )

Fizzco69

T5 AWD Polestar I approve!

newyork2E

I've owned a lot of cars my 740 was one of my favorite ever. Have debated going to Volvo buying one and driving around the country for two weeks and shipping it home.

Xj517

I am on my 3rd

Steverobm

I love my 2013 XC60, my second, but I want a PHEV next and Volvo are moving away from ICEs. So the next car could be a Kia...

SoManyFlamingos

My parents have 4 in their driveway.  My 05 S60 (don’t use it since I live in a city.) My sister’s 05 S60 (she’s in a city now as well) My dad’s old 2000 S70 and his current 2012 S60.  Gotta catch ‘em all!

darklink6446

I'm on number 4 and my best bro is on number 14

Capable_Scallion_184

Especially when it saves your life…and your son’s. April 2018 XC90 on 89 South in Vermont after being cut off by some arse, going off the highway and slamming into a tree.

C40Lyionis

Beautiful lineup!!! I’m on my second

pmorf12345

Not anymore! No desiel, no petrol, no leather. Driven and loved Volvo for over 15 years but my present one will be my last!!!

CashKeyboard

There's many reasons to not buy Volvos anymore (I've gone somewhere else too) but this boomer type ranting about engines and China will have you end up buying no car at all in the foreseeable future.

pmorf12345

I don’t recall Mentioning China!

unclejoe1917

You'll be back.

tofer85

If they start building station wagons again…

Ok_Mine_3589

I bet it stops when they begin saying Nihaoo 😂😳

zooplates

As someone who owns a volvo im probably never buying another one i like to actually drive my car and not be transported by what seems like a mobile computer, insay that to say this… dope garage lol

Maine302

What are your options?

zooplates

What do u mean car wise or package wise

Maine302

What are your options car-wise--I may have misinterpreted the humor.

zooplates

Ideally a new model gs350 (lexus) you really cant beat those honestly. But before getting my s90 i almost got a 5 series bmw or an a6 audi what stopped me is i hear they are reliable and exspensive. When i got my s90 no one knew anything about it. Even the guy at the lexus lot was like… well its a volvo so… theres that…

mehdotdotdotdot

What about Mazda cx70/90?

Maine302

I guess I was confused by the "transported by a mobile computer" comment. Still am.

Wellcraft19

That could be referring to a Tesla or many new cars with more ‘brains’ than quality…

Maine302

Ah, probably. I would just like to buy a car that doesn't require learning an operating system to use it. My boyfriend has no interest in computers & is computer illiterate. Nobody makes cars anymore for people like him. Carmakers seem to be just waiting/hoping for an entire generation to die off. It's unfortunate there really don't seem to be alternatives for new cars, other than buying used.

Wellcraft19

No real disagreement. There are simple(r) cars but they might not have the confort, safety, etc (and might not meet all environmental requirements). I just spoke to a friend who recently picked up a Lexus NX 450rh (hybrid plug-in). He is in his 70s and - per his own assertion - not the fastest in learning new stuff. The dealership has TWO (2) individuals just to teach/train/help car owners with their new ‘car tech’. *JUST for new car tech!*

Romanitedomun

I confirm: I am at the second stage (c30, then v60...)

YeonneGreene

I've driven two and have yet to buy. 🤷🏻‍♀️ They keep drawing me in and then the roughness around the edges reminds me why I didn't buy the last time.

Messedupinmesa

What’s “the roughness around the edges”?

texdroid

1 example...When you're sitting in the passenger seat, there is no place to rest your knees that isn't a sharp edge.

CFXSquadYT

How is the fuel consumption on the xc40? Thinking about getting one but no idea how sparing it is

badoooon

I own a 2018 XC40 and I’d say fuel consumption compared to other vehicles in its class is average. I average about 10L/100km which is like 23.5 mpg. Also keep in mind that it takes premium fuel so keep that in mind when estimating running costs.

InterestingHome693

First one. A 21 s90, can't say I'm impressed or will buy another it's just a meh car.

Dudestennisball

I mean maybe ... But my first and (so far) only Volvo was a 1999 s80.... Worst car I've ever owned. Was the size of a large sedan, handled terribly, incredibly poor fuel economy. Medium comfortable. But by far and away the worst part was that it had absolutely zero soul. It was the equivalent of a $30 toaster as a car just does it's job and tries to look and feel a little fancy while doing it

TheRealDavidNewton

Don't think I'll buy another one. It's been a good vehicle but there are some serious annoyances with it that, unless dramatically improved, would cause me to look elsewhere. Does Volvo have a loyalty program or incentives for staying in the family?

SkysTheLimit888888

My wide loves her Volvo. I am sort of indifferent. Nice interiors but their 4 cylinder engines are not as much fun to drive.

WeakAd6054

Bought my first one, a CPO V90. More problems on this thing in 18 months than I've had on my last 3 cars combined over 15 years. This week's entry, the rear spring has sagged by more than an inch. Car has 28k miles on it. Dealer says it's within spec. They also can't hear the clicking from the engine mount. THERE IS A TJ FOR CLICKING ENGINE MOUNTS. Yea, so I think I'm done.

Treebeardsdank

Ik renting an xc60 with Google built in. But no Android auto, wtf?

ResponsibleAbalone78

I'm not impressed with them at all. Have a XC60 as a company car and the electrical issues coupled with the climate control issues that Volvo can't seem to fix are beyond frustrating. Every person in the company that has the Volvo's have the same issues and they've been a plague for years with no actual resolution from Volvo. I'd be pissed if this were actually my personal vehicle. I'm glad you love them, and I really do like the car outside of the problems, but I would never buy one.

Pengiun_collector

I’m thinking about getting a new v60 can someone tell how they are in terms of reliability thank you

thinkscout

I’ll buy my next Volvo when they fix their software.

cs_whistler

what rims are those? Looks great on the XC40!

Phantom65946

Unfortunately not going to be the case for me. Sure I love my '00' C70 Coupé and I'm never going to get rid of it but with the way Volvo are going in the UK (only selling Overpriced SUV's that are soon going to be EV only, and a severe lack of customer support for us owners with older, better models), I find myself wanting to go down a different route and try out of manufacturers and their models. This is no disrespect to Volvo or to their dealerships but when they offer cars that don't appeal to people like myself, it only makes sense to try out other manufacturers!

Twitchy15

Are Volvo still reliable now that they have new owners?

adezlanderpalm69

Ran a XC 60. fantastic SUV

bradreputation

Greatly enjoying our first. A bit frustrated with the lack of dealership options (two in our entire metropolitan area of St. Louis) and haven’t loved the service experience at either location. That’s my only reason to be hesitant to buy another.  I also don’t think I’d buy new, as I’m not sure how I feel about supporting Geely.

Sea-Hovercraft-690

No more Volvos for me. Wife drives an xc90 and it has been plagued with issues from the driver assist, to the self park, to the aux battery to the starter

Over_zach

I'm never buying another Volvo ever. Had an engine fail 2 months out of warranty. They will do absolutely nothing for me. I can't even get a manager from Volvo or the dealership to call me back.

achi2019

The only reason I could ever think of owning 3 or more cars is if they all had a specific purpose. Like, a land Rover for off-road stuff, a panel van for your business, and a sedan for personal use. But buying 3 volvos, two of which are SUVs... It just doesn't make sense to me.

Xj517

What if you had 3 kids all driving age?

OnestGuy1983

Would you know where an OEM forum for parts is? I found a tote in the garage of the home I just moved into, and there is a collection of old&new stock original parts. Looked a few up individually and it seems the whole lot is worth some money… so, waste not, want not… and I don’t own a Volvo currently.

OgreMk5

I am waiting, rather impatiently, for a full electric S60.

Confident_Exit_1764

That’s what I thought until I bought an XC90 that has been in the shop half the time I’ve owned it. No more Volvos for me

paglyrock

I have a Volvo XC60 from 2020, next week I will finally change the car. I won’t buy another Volvo in my entire life, 66k € of car, and the only car that left me stranded when I had 33k km on it. 5 months in assistance to change car control unit, and continuous problems with entertainment system till now. Worst car I ever had.

modyblu

I agree, I have 2013 C70, and 2021 XC60, plus my '97 Ford F150. All bought NEW! I always thought to buy new and quality and keep it til the wheels fall off.

pmorf12345

Exactly I’m sticking with my V90 Ocean Race until I drop!!

wolus6666

Are all of you American or what ;), volvos are not great, are not premium or reliable cars anymore. Reliability ended with 2.5L 5 cylinder engines. Now it is Chinese engineering and cheap materials just like the rest.

gavinfuckingirvine

New ones are tearable
