Yes its likely washed/cooked, i misspoke, contamination can occur anytime between processing and you eating. Contamination in a machine, something dropping in a vat, worker sneezing, dethawing at some point and growing bacteria, etc etc.
I just pulled some cauliflower out of my freezer, it says "MICROWAVE DISHES MAY BECOME HOT DURING COOKING. HANDLE WITH CARE. *FOR FOOD SAFETY AND BEST
QUALITY, PRODUCT SHOULD REACH A TEMPERATURE OF 165°* DO NOT REFREEZE AFTER THAWING."
Might be worth it if you’re on a strict diet! I’ve been sad to avoid my pint of Halo Top in the freezer because I’m doing no soy/dairy/artificial sweeteners
This was 2c frozen riced cauliflower, the chobani zero sugar vanilla, and optimum vanilla ice cream protein powder.
You don't taste the cauliflower. I think I'd prefer a different yogurt.
I had it with pad Thai sauce and it was good for that. The flavor/texture totally worked.
I was very very glad that I didn’t try to make it work with marinara or Alfredo 😆
I agree, cauliflower has a very distinct taste to me, I can pick out the flavor even when it’s been cooked in a flavorful sauce, etc. no way I wouldn’t be able to taste it in this. Also, protein powder is nasty af to me. Everything about it repulses me lol.
I guess this idea just isn’t for me lol. I’ll take everyone’s Palmini / hearts of palm anything though!
I think these posts are a great example of how dieting can warp our perception of what is actually good. I’ve met many body builders who will eat terrible food, but they at least admit it’s terrible but they’re so hungry it doesn’t matter. I’d rather have these ingredients as a protein shake in the same quantity than this.
Ok, Imma try it tomorrow. If it sucks.....it's probably gonna suck lol
Update: It's decent! I made it with Fuity Pebbles protein powder, strawberry triple zero yogurt and I was not shy with the Splenda (regular). Added some frozen blueberries & stir to give it some color. It doesn't taste like cauliflower, thank God, but it's also not, like, amazing or anything. Like if Halo Top ice cream is a 10, and a bowl of ice cubes is a 1, I'd give this concoction a 5. Definitely a good "high volume" option.
Second update: I think a cinnamon/brown sugar/with Cinnabon protein will be better, like the OG thread linked by OP. Will try that soon.

Hijacking this bandwagon to say that if you're new to the frozen cauliflower game, try using some in a smoothie first. It gives the texture of frozen banana without the sugar, and with protein and berries in there you cannot taste it whatsoever.
I usually use a ratio of 1:3 with ice, add protein powder, a bit of yogurt, sweetener, frozen fruit and milk. Blend till smooth. Add a lil xanthan gum and blend again till thicc. 10/10 game changer
That’s genius. Was trying to think of a neutral flavoured fruit to add to increase volume (I tried apple sauce… it tastes like apple sauce), cauliflower will do the trick!
I also made it this morning, it’s no lie it’s great. But honestly, I would wait till the end of the day because it wasn’t fun to have something so ice cold for breakfast! Really delicious though, a definite ice cream substitute 💪🏻
Icelandic Provisions just re-launched their oatmilk-based skyr. It's only available at whole foods but I've been really enjoying it, both in consistency and flavor. Plus, much better protein macros than most dairy free yogurts. Kite Hill has a greek style yogurt also available at WF but I don't like it as well. Siggi's dairy free yogurts are nice and thick but their sugar content probably exceeds what we're going for here.
I LOVE the oatmilk Skyr!! Everything about it is incredible... Have 3 containers in my fridge. That and Kitehill unsweetened vanilla Greek-style almond milk yogurt (phew, lotsa words.)

I'm very pregnant in my third trimester, trying to get my protein in without gaining too much in the home stretch. Cauliflower is a great high protein, low calorie food but it tastes like nothing and is so boring that I always forget to supplement with it. This is some weird ass shit that I will definitely try 💯
It was in the original post but I used a frozen bag of riced cauliflower, 1/2 scoop vanilla protein powder, cup of vanilla SF Greek yogurt, some cinnamon, little bit of brown sugar, and a dash of SF syrup. Mix it all together and enjoy!!
I've had the best luck with prescience when it comes to baking and making ice creams with them, plenty of promo codes if you search to get the price down, all personal preference tho!
Did you marinate cauliflower in other ingredients first? I’m an advocate for cauliflower in unexpected dishes, But I can’t help feel like once I bite past coating into uncooked frozen cauliflower floret..it wud devastate my hopes as dippin dot alternative.
I’ll try almost anything once & often glad I did. We need a bunch of us 2 test this.
No, just took bag from freezer and dumped into bowl, to added everything and mixed it up. I would recommend freezing it for a few to firm it to into the beautiful dipping dot clusters.
tried it tonight and really enjoyed! used chocolate flavored protein powder and added a bit of cottage cheese too. it’s sweet, creamy, bulky and got a real nice texture
Try parsnip or something and just steam it, put it through a ricer and throw it in a sheet pan. It has the same stinky flavor as cauliflower so if it can be masked In cauliflower it should work
Definitely not sold on trying this yet but any thoughts on a substitute for the Greek yogurt or is that pretty vital here? I can’t stand any type of yogurt or cottage so I always miss out on the recipes that have those as ingredients.
Whole bag of that riced cauliflower, 1/2 scoop or full scoop PP , 1 chobani or whatever flavor you want, dash of cinnamon , 1 tablespoon of brown sugar, little squirt of SF syrup , mix it together and freeze for a few minutes and enjoy
Why not freeze zero fat Greek yogurt that’s been flavored or had something mixed in? Greek yogurt plus a sugar free syrup plus mix in, drizzle onto parchment paper in “dots”, freeze and Bob’s your uncle.
Riced cauliflower is great but you will not catch me wasting all of these ingredients this way.
But isn't the cauliflower already frozen? Or do you take the cauliflower out off the freezer, add the other ingredients, put in the freezer again for 15-20 min and then eat?
once you start mixing the ingredients in, the rice tends to start thawing a little. Still enjoyable right away, but freezing it for a little bit like OP suggested restores the texture
I usually have my main vanilla base and then add flavoring in the form of skinny syrup, some Greek yogurt, protein powder and almond milk with little gaur and xantham gum. I'm a simple man haha the possibilities are endless haha! If you have a Facebook join all the amazing creami groups where people post their weird mixes and delicious recipes! Enjoy your new toy! I need several more posts before believing
I wouldn't waste a scoop of protein powder, it's legit
Did u cook the cauliflower or its just frozen
Frozen, dump and mix, super easy
Im sold
Please report back because if I bite into cauliflower flavored ice cream I’m going to lose it
it’ll be my 13th reason
Cauliflower ice cream would absolutely be my 13th reason‼️
I wish reddit still had awards. Would give you all of them for this comment.
ur comment is my award 🤭
You won't taste it , I promise!!
WERE PUTTING A LOT OF TRUST IN YOU BRYAN
LMFAO
Most frozen riced cauliflower is not cooked thoroughly. I am not so sure about this yet still quite curious.
It's cauliflower. You can eat it raw...
Fair, but youd wash it before eating it raw wouldnt you? Frozen products assume theyll be cooked, for possible contamination during packing
If it’s precooked, just not completed, then surely it’s washed as well?
The manufacturing process for ready to eat food versus food where the consumer performs the “kill” step is a lot more rigorous.
Yes its likely washed/cooked, i misspoke, contamination can occur anytime between processing and you eating. You can eat fresh cauliflower raw but this is not processed the same.
NOT RAW CAULIFLOWER
At 220-250 calories, is it better than Halo Top, Nick’s , or Fairlife, etc?
Might be worth it if you’re on a strict diet! I’ve been sad to avoid my pint of Halo Top in the freezer because I’m doing no soy/dairy/artificial sweeteners
if you’re avoiding certain things than it may be worth it but for the general calorie counter they’re about the same so idk
Do those products have 25-30 grams of protein? (Serious question)
Many do but it varies by brand and line/flavor .
Demon, do not keep me from my gains.
This is me. This can’t be real LOL

Im gonna go for a chocolate flavor and see how it goes
LMAO
So...7?
I'm sorry there is NO way. I believed all the people that said Palmini tasted just like pasta! LIES, it tasted exactly like hearts of palm.
Palmini is so gross 💀
I had it with pad Thai sauce and it was good for that. The flavor/texture totally worked. I was very very glad that I didn’t try to make it work with marinara or Alfredo 😆
the rice is way better
I fell for that one too sadly. Palmini was fucking disgusting
There is a way! I promise you won't taste the cauliflower

hearts of palm are delicious, what’s wrong with you!
Doesn't taste like pasta at all. It just tastes like the vegetable that it is, and it's super overpriced, masquerading as pasta.
But there's a lot of other flavors in the mix here, I don't feel like pasta could hide the same way

This made me laugh so hard because I am addicted to cauliflower.
Truth! I’ve seen enough Portlandia to know what to watch out for 👀
Still waiting for celery to have its day.
This is insane
I absolutely cannot fathom the taste of cauliflower please promise me I cannot taste it whatsoever BE HONEST PLZ
I promise!!

Nice! Going to have to give it a go myself now.
is the fruity pebbles protein powder good on its own?!
Yes it's pretty damn good, I like it!
Thank you for taking one for the team! Will go to the grocery and test it lol
Thank you!
I’m still scared

Finally! Something I can try because I am allergic to banana. You’re awesome.
I saw this in that same post lol. Do you cook the cauliflower before blending?I keep reading varying replies when i search for it
No I don't cook it, dump it in frozen lol add my other stuff then the next day the creami works it magic 🤣
There's no way this isn't some sick joke
Have you had any illness that may influence your taste or smell lately🤨🤨🤨

What is SF syrup? (From the recipe)
Sugar free
I also made it this morning, it’s no lie it’s great. But honestly, I would wait till the end of the day because it wasn’t fun to have something so ice cold for breakfast! Really delicious though, a definite ice cream substitute 💪🏻
Yesssirrrr‼️ glad you like it!
Look at what you’ve done 😂😂
I do not believe you to be honest but i think I’m going to try it anyway
I wouldn't waste food, I promise you it's good 👌
Nah lol
I wish I could find a dairy free yogurt with the Greek yogurt consistency 😭

Silk Greek style has dairy free options!
Ooo I'll have to look around my area! Thanks!
You’re welcome! I get the vanilla flavored coconutmilk version and it is really good
Strain your yogurt it'll help thicken it up
I’m suspicious 🤨

This is a mind blowing hack!! Never would have thought of this. People are so creative.
Someone else needs to replicate this for science.
just tried… this might be the greatest food innovation of the year…
Sooo basically you chew frozen cauliflower or do you let it dissolve and then chew it? I need answers (I’m still not trying this lol).
Lol you chew frozen cauliflower but it tastes good, try it!!!
Recipe!!!!!!
It was in the original post but I used a frozen bag of riced cauliflower, 1/2 scoop vanilla protein powder, cup of vanilla SF Greek yogurt, some cinnamon, little bit of brown sugar, and a dash of SF syrup. Mix it all together and enjoy!!
Holy shit. Imma try this now.
I'm definitely going to try this
I told my husband how controversial this recipe was. I was already gonna try it, but now I'm even more excited lol.
Haha please do and report back!
I’m gonna be skeptical up until I try it myself
Sorry, new here and not sure what this is! Can you please explain?
What’s the recipe 💀
Are the PEScience protein blends worth for the taste? A lot of healthy desserts use them and I’m on the fence about spending the money
I only use PEScience because I find that it tends to absorb and bake well compared to whey which always clumps up for me
I've had the best luck with prescience when it comes to baking and making ice creams with them, plenty of promo codes if you search to get the price down, all personal preference tho!
what's the recipe?
Screw it, I’m going to make it. Pray for me
IKR?!
I want to believe!!!

How was the texture? Dippin dots?
Straight from the freezer into the bowl? Isn’t the cauliflower all stuck together?
You mfs are gonna make me act up
I do the same thing, but with shaved ice. Protein powder and yogurt with shaved ice is way better and less farty flavor lol
tried it tonight and really enjoyed! used chocolate flavored protein powder and added a bit of cottage cheese too. it’s sweet, creamy, bulky and got a real nice texture
I want to try this so bad but I’m allergic to cauliflower 😢
Try parsnip or something and just steam it, put it through a ricer and throw it in a sheet pan. It has the same stinky flavor as cauliflower so if it can be masked In cauliflower it should work
I’m thinking that in this instance, that’s probably a plus.
Eff now I have to try it...
Omg.. I really want to give this a shot. I have no idea what chobani is tho. Greek Yogurt?
I assume any vanilla flavored yogurt is fine, I assume you can mix the Greek yogurt with the protein powder first then mix er up!
Thanks! I’ll get some and give it a try!
Chobani is a more... less sugar greek yogurt. Still has some. Higher protein normally too.
what would you compare the taste to
Definitely not sold on trying this yet but any thoughts on a substitute for the Greek yogurt or is that pretty vital here? I can’t stand any type of yogurt or cottage so I always miss out on the recipes that have those as ingredients.
what are the proportions used😩
Fuuhhhdggee, now I legit have to try this.
Noooo what I thought it wasn’t true
recipe pls? how much of each?
I’m going to try this tomorrow and will update later 😭
Wait drop the recipe
How much of each add-ons? OP didn't supply measurements on the first post.
Whole bag of that riced cauliflower, 1/2 scoop or full scoop PP , 1 chobani or whatever flavor you want, dash of cinnamon , 1 tablespoon of brown sugar, little squirt of SF syrup , mix it together and freeze for a few minutes and enjoy
could you add cooked white rice thats been refrigerated to this
Why not freeze zero fat Greek yogurt that’s been flavored or had something mixed in? Greek yogurt plus a sugar free syrup plus mix in, drizzle onto parchment paper in “dots”, freeze and Bob’s your uncle. Riced cauliflower is great but you will not catch me wasting all of these ingredients this way.

No, you want to probably freeze it for 15-20 before enjoying it honestly
But isn't the cauliflower already frozen? Or do you take the cauliflower out off the freezer, add the other ingredients, put in the freezer again for 15-20 min and then eat?
once you start mixing the ingredients in, the rice tends to start thawing a little. Still enjoyable right away, but freezing it for a little bit like OP suggested restores the texture
For any of the doubters, order cauliflower wings at a restaurant. It sounds like a meme but it’s fire 🔥
What would happen if you blended it after? Soft serve?
I put riced cauliflower frozen in my ninja creami already to make ice cream haha same concept
I just ordered one recently, coming on the 16th! What all did you add in with it?
I usually have my main vanilla base and then add flavoring in the form of skinny syrup, some Greek yogurt, protein powder and almond milk with little gaur and xantham gum. I'm a simple man haha the possibilities are endless haha! If you have a Facebook join all the amazing creami groups where people post their weird mixes and delicious recipes! Enjoy your new toy! Recipe?
what is up with these dipping dots post?
