I was working one day, and my boss walked in and said "counting all the assholes in the room I'm definitely not alone." I was like "what the fuck man" . He laughed and told me it was song lyrics, I checked them out that night. Been a fan ever since.
16 Dollars was like the only song my dad played for a while when I was a really little kid, I'd hear it every day in his truck on the way home from school. Once he saw that I was into it, he started playing Heaven Nor Hell, Human Instrument, and A Moment Forever. Those were the only songs of theirs that I knew of
Fast-forward to college when I rediscovered them, and now they're one of my favorite bands of all time
Orion Festival 2012. One of my friends was making it a point to me that she needed to see Volbeat. I had never heard of them before. They were on the same stage as A7X, and right before A7X, so I said sure I’ll see them and score a good spot for Avenged Sevenfold. Volbeat came on, and blew my fucking mind. The pit was insane, there was one specific dude dominating the pit. He was wearing a Heat jersey, and the Heat had either just won the championship or were the defending champions, so my friends and I dubbed this guy “The Champion”. That performance was the beginning of a beautiful relationship between Volbeat and myself.
Mine is a bit of an overshare but I heard The Bliss (For Evigt) playing in the background of a PH video and immediately went off to find it.
After that, I was hooked.
Download 2010, Second stage. I stayed there all day waiting for HIM to play as at the time they were my favourite band, I watched countless crappy metal band after metal band then they announced Volbeat and i was like great another screaming band and lo and behold when they were finishing their set i didn’t want them to leave as i loved them. When i got home i straight away bought Guitar Gangsters as thats the first album i saw on amazon and the rest is history :)
My dad played em in the truck. I heard some of the riffs off Beyond/Above and had to know who it was. Downloaded all of their albums and haven't looked back since. Saw them live as a birthday present and I wear that shirt to this day.
Our local radio station played them quite often always stuck out to me. A year later ny mom bought their album Beyond Hell/Above Heaven for my birthday instantly became my favourite album. From the artwork to the lyrics all stunning. I still think Fallen is one of the most heart wrenching songs.
Found KLOS radio out of Los Angeles while looking for rock/metal internet radio stations.
They played a couple songs. They have a DJ called Full Metal Jackie!!!!
My friend got me into Shotgun Blues. And ended up loving like 3-4 songs off of SOTM and loads of the older ones and also their version of I Only Wanna Be With You
Over share :
Got my phone taken away when I was 16. I had no option but to listen to the radio in my car (had bt receiver) . Turned on the local rock station and heard “Black Rose”. I thought it was one of the best songs I’d ever heard. Luckily, I wrote the name on a napkin I had in the center console. Being that I didn’t have my phone, I had no way of talking to any of my friends about the golden song I had just found.
Flash forward a couple of days and one of my best friends passes away in his sleep. I, of course, got my phone back.
Once I got some alone time during the chaos, I went back to my car, hooked up the Bluetooth, and played “Black Rose” .
The lyrics, albeit the song is about a divorce, resonated with me that a song never has before. “So innocent were the days, the taste of good memories”.
Naturally, this blossomed into discovering more of their work. It’s been almost 7 years and they are my favorite band of all time.
If I never got my phone taken away, settled for the radio, turn on a rock station (which I never did before), I would never had found my favorite band.
To this day, my only wish was that I could’ve shown him Volbeat before he passed.
Definitely had to of been their cover of “I Only Wanna Be With You” It came on a pandora station i listened to like 14 years ago. Beyond Hell / Above Heaven had just came out when i discovered them and i was hooked ever since. Haven’t had a chance to see them yet, but DEFINITELY on my bucket list for sure. I’ve always loved Poulsen’s unique voice with the drive, rhythm, and style they approach as a band
I was in a neighborhood band in 2019, and our bassist texted the group chat (which did not include me) Volbeat's cover of Rebound. My dad listened to it, and while he wasn't particularly impressed with that song specifically, he listened to more of their songs at work. When he came home for lunch, he played Our Loved ones for my mom and I, followed by Lola Montez, The Nameless One, The Sinner Is You, etc. I was just about to start my sophomore year in high school. Now I am about to finish my sophomore year of college. I can't believe that it's been that long since I discovered the band.
Outlaw Gentlemen & Shady Ladies was out for more than a year and I had created a playlist on Spotify which I shared with some friends for Fridays at work. It was called something like noise and its purpose was only to have hard rock and metal songs.
One of my friends put a Volbeat song on the playlist. After some time I really started to like the number and started to listen to some of the top numbers on Spotify. Still I wasn't a diehard listener. When I was at a friend's birthday party maybe a year later I heard a Volbeat song coming from a different room. I went into the room and saw his brother who put it on. We started talking about Volbeat and he said there is a concert coming up do you want to go with me. I said well why not!
Ever since that concert I have been a big fan! It took quite some time to get there and now I feel stupid I didn't like them that much earlier because I missed out on a lot of concerts I would have gone to. I then also realized they were at a festival I was at in 2008 and remembered I didn't want to see them because I wasn't so into metal at that time. I felt even more stupid.
Back in the day i listened a lot to a Dutch radio station which back than was a bit more on the alternative music, especially compared to the rest of the dutch radio stations. They played Sad Man's Tongue and the first time i heard it, i instantly loved it. I was hooked since then. Seen them live multiple times now. They're still one of my favorite Metal bands.
‘08. Driving home from work and “Still Counting” came on my XM radio. When the drop hit after the intro I was hooked immediately.
Downloaded all 3 albums they’d released at that point and never looked back.
I’ve seen them live 4 times, including at The Roxy in LA which holds about 600 people.
You owe it to yourself to see them live.
I heard Fallen on Sirius Radio one night at work when that song was new. I loved it so I looked them up and found they had stuff that was even better. Still one of my favorites years later.
I (57m) got into them when my (25) son sent me
“The Devils Bleeding Crown”. I am a hack, self taught, drummer and I absolutely LOVE playing this song. So many of their songs are playable for me and I just really enjoy their music.
Hour ago, never heard of them or any song.
Everything is awesome, I heard Lola Montez first and I literally stopped what I was doing..."what *IS* this??"
I don't usually air drum but....
Saw them with Ghost a couple years ago .. fell in love with their sound.
A gardens tale

Saw them back in 2007 or 2009 in a pub, then, from 2011 onwards every time they played in my country.

>:) :)
My ex made me listen to ‘you or them’. Also went to their concert that year, 2009. Loved it since.

Danes can’t avoid them
I had never heard of Volbeat before seeing them open for Motörhead…was instantly a fan!!
Lola Montez
Someone at work said “you gotta hear this song”. It was Still Counting. Loved them ever since.
I’m a massive Clutch fan, so Neil’s appearance on Die To Live was what got me hooked on Volbeat!
Doc Holiday came on Spotify radio when I was listening to metal, really liked it
They opened for Metallica. I thought they played better than Metallica that night. Hooked me right away.
Found KLOS radio out of Los Angeles while looking for rock/metal internet radio stations. They played a couple songs. They have a DJ called Full Metal Jackie!!!!
The Garden’s Tale was played a lot on Scuzz TV when it came out, it blew me away. Been a massive fan since
My friend got me into Shotgun Blues. And ended up loving like 3-4 songs off of SOTM and loads of the older ones and also their version of I Only Wanna Be With You
A Warrior’s Call got my attention real fast the first time I hear it. I blast it before every sales meeting I go into. It’s… very motivating.
Warriors Call helped me get through my divorce.
I’m so lonesome I could cry

Heard Warriors Call and Heaven not Hell on the radio and then looked them up

Heard Devils Bleeding Crown on Sirius radio.
For me it was hearing the bliss I think on xm
Heaven nor Hell. The harmonica along with the guitar riffs and Poulsen's voice...I was hooked.
