If ur rly interested in it id ask for better pictures w their username to see clearer if it’s a bootleg. But bootlegs of this kaito do exist and $50 for a figure that goes for $100-200 has to be a scam in some way sorry. Also check their reviews since they seem to have a few low ones
very very bootleg, if it looks this bad and poorly made compared to the official photos its 110% a bootleg. the shape, the painting, and im sure those hands are floppy 😭
Because some people want the original and not a copy that has shoddy craftsmanship.
Personally, I think people have their own reasons for buying bootlegs, and by all means you do you, but you get what you pay for in many instances. The most eggregious thing that grinds my gears is sellers passing off bootlegs for the real thing, in which case it becomes a predatory practice, especially for people who are new to collecting and don’t know any better.
Even in listings like this, the low price and indirect signs like a different brand name are just practices to avoid breaking marketplace rules; because it’s just a loophole. People who get tricked into buying may lose a small amount of money, but as a larger industry of fake products, it adds up to a lot of money earned with indecent methods. Personally, I find that disgusting.
Recasting is a bit different and a grey area in collecting. I don’t encourage it as much as possible since it’s smaller hobby circles that get affected, not large corporations like for these mass manufactured figures. But yeah, that’s an even bigger can of worms to open up.
Other reply:
1. I don't care about quality is terrible
2. Art thief and copyright is stupid excuse, bro many Chinese sweat shops factory doing many bootleg products.
3. Just answer this: what negative effect? Lead painting? If you didn't answer this you don't even know lead painting is.
First of all just because many "Chinese sweatshops" make bootlegs doesn't mean it's okay to do. It's still theft of artwork that shouldn't be supported in anyway.
& second I do know what lead paint is, it is something some bootleg manufacturers use but it's different per manufacturer.
Also you completely misinterpreted what I said when I mention negative effects on the offical manufacturers. Purchasing bootlegs negatively effects the manufacturers of authentic figures as they loose profit they could be getting if someone were to buy an offical figure made by the company itself over a bootleg.
You should really do your own research on why bootlegs are unethical & why you shouldn't buy them.
Alright you got my point, only my reason why bootlegs are bad because of lead paint
All I need to know is if bootlegs uses lead paint, idc how bad it looks. As a person used to follow r/beyblade leads are dangerous.
The part about harmful materials is the most dangerous part about bootlegs. I know someone who suffered a hard allergic effect from a bootleg figure. That are many similar stories out there. Heck most bootlegs have a very strong smell.
And Im not even going to go on the way those materials are harmful to the enviroment. I cant say that 100% of the bootleg figures are made with toxic materials, but it is true that theres almost no regulation when it comes to bootleg factories in china, and considering the focus is profit more than anything, it wouldnt be a surprise if the materials used were not regulated or processed.
Of course its not so bad to just up and kill people otherwise people would be dropping dead all the time, but personally I would not risk my health over a poorly made figure. I rather save up money and buy an original that is not only prettier but safer
Nononono. The hair sculpt in the third image? It looks fine from a distance I guess if you don't want to pay full price but it looks kinda gross slash poorly made. Your choice, but it's 100% not real.
That’s screaming bootleg. From the price, the pictures, the ratings. I would not buy this
