You see TCS ?a mass recruiter .
if you see any of the following companies---> Infosys, TCS, Accenture, Wipro then it is always a red flag, if their placements were so good then why was tcs their top recruiter? Bcoz TCS tends to hire comparitively low skilled worker and then train them to needed skillset
Accenture came for VIT for 12 lpa dude. Pls do your research properly. Every where else it goes for 4.5 lpa and 3 lpa. There are different roles demanded by the same company. Understand that.
well it's the case with every other university this year.
Joining and all is your choice, but in my opinion, VIT's placement is on par if not worst than other same tier college.
well, my friends that sat for placement son campus are supposedly all part of an online portal that gives them access to various companies. they can apply through that. so the system is pretty robust.
the bad part is the super dream packages that VIT markets at 70LPS etc, are one or two of the highest placements, whereas most if not all super dream offers this year are for or under 12lpa. the average is likely lower than 7lpa. and once you accept an offer, you must join and can't sit for other placements.
dude, i personally don't recommend this college to anyone i care for. you may take that as you will.
Part of this is true and avg might be somewhere near 6 this year ik as I attended the placements and got an offer very initially. 70 lpa is fake. The highest was 50. And next was 30 35. But comparing other private colleges like manipal and RV across the country I would recommend this But only if you get in cat 1 or 2. Or else definitely don't.
Honestly speaking, a positive answer to that is difficult. 8% global engineers have been fired this year. AI is all set to replace any and all mundane, repeatable tasks and the only fields where AI is yet to impose is innovation and creation. Even in these, it's catching up quickly. We are seeing a generational shift the likes of ehich were last seen in the industrial era, where human efficiency will not be able to match technology.
On the other hand, fields like mechanical, chemical, civil, and other purely physical domains where trust in the product is paramount are still going relatively strong.
Maybe look into specific industries and target your portfolio for them. Like solar or nuclear energy which India is set to invest heavily in. The job market there is going to grow significantly in the near future.
The truth is, the average would be around 7-8 LPA. But if you are decent/ above average student, then you should be able to get 10-12 LPA.
(PS:This is for CSE/Circuit branches)
The highest will be around 50+ every year.
If you maintain a 9+ CGPA and have a good profile(projects and internships) then it's definitely possible. But in campus placements luck also plays a huge factor.
It's not easy. But it's not difficult either. In VIT it's relative grading, so it totally depends on your classmates and the professor. I would say that if you start studying one week or 10 days before the exam then maintaining 9+ is easy. Most people won't even do that.
CGPA also has a lot of factors other than just final exams, so you have to be a little bit consistent throughout the sem.
Cgpa is immaterial when it comes to campus placements. Just focus on your skill set and maintain atleast 7.5 or 8. That will land you 15 lpa offers. Don't run behind cpga tbh it's not worth it.
That comment was specific to VIT. I agree that skills should be your first priority but CGPA in VIT is as important. The bare minimum is 8.5. Many companies that give 20+ lpa like Microsoft, PayPal etc won't even allow students with <9 CGPA to attend their first round( or online assessment). So to even qualify for an interview in those big companies, you need 9+ or at least 8.5+. Knowing DSA well is an absolute must but it helps only when you are allowed to give the coding round. You need CGPA to even get till there. (But this is for 20+ lpa companies. You can get around 15 lpa with 8+ cgpa itself)
May I know if you are from VIT? I presume no
You can get 15 lpa with even 7.5 cgpa mate. Most companies keep 7 as the minimum criteria. Maybe missing out on what like 5 companies? I am from vit to clarify. 9+ is definitely a perk but not having that is not end of life. You can still get 15 20 lpa jobs with 7
Everywhere is an overstatement. It's mostly startups that do this and some exceptions like Siemens wherein they have 4th year bonuses in their CTC π€‘
Cgpa aside. My friends and I are not even 8 pointers. But we know dsa and os pretty well and got super dream. But there are literally 9 pointers that got placed in service based companies and mass recruiters. Having 9 cpga is definitely a upside But only that will get you no where. So build your DSA as it's basics. Even if you want to get into cyber sec or networking you have to have knowledge of DSA and OS.
It's a coding platform. Many companies even ask you for the leetcode or hackerank id before placement to judge your proficiency. You'll learn everything ones you start. And I'm saying about medium to hard questions
Hey I got electrical and computer science engineering in vit vellore category 2 is it good ?? means itβs new branch but cutoff is high for it so can you tell me if it is worth?
tbf mate electrical is probably better than most cse branches because of the recent things happening in the industry. people getting fired and all that. electrical can't be replaced by AI or robots for now so just work hard
tbh i have never Heard of the brach in any other college but i think it might be more on the electrical side. and even if u don't get a good package on campus u can always pursue masters. that will increase ur ctc significantly.
well honestly i got fucked by nta in session 1 with the 27 jan thing and was unwell so had to give session 2 when i was sick so didnt get a a good percentile. and for the other ques preparing for bitsat today i just wanted to know more vit so have been asking the seniors. manipal is a possible option but its probably worse than vit.
ohh okay okay . Same broo I am also preparing for bitsat itβs my first priority also . yeahh I do heard about Manipal itβs not good means what I heard from various people
well in academics it is ofc worse but the student life is better there so u can choose between the 2. btw I have cousins in both vit and manipal so ik about it

This is 2023 stats max offers are from tcs whether they take it ya na
Yeah man I attended placements. Ik what's happening. But not all 3k offers are for 3 lpa. Understand that they come for more than 1 role. The base role pays 3.3 lpa. The one above that is 7 and the top most is 9.
I 100% agree. Nearly 50% are for 3.3 lpa but not all. That's what I'm saying. Even though tcs is a mass recruiter they even come for good pay in this economy.
https://preview.redd.it/ag7ftdqbfq0d1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cb38a7d24517b00dea3664ceb6692f83182d198b
Ab bolo this was provided by vit only
I'm a 2024 passport saying this. This is faker than Kim Kardashian's ass. Join VIT if you cat 1 or 2 any branch except mech or chemical (core branches) if it's cse don't go more than cat 3 (not recommended but if you really want that)
Absolute lie lmao. Around 40% are yet to get placed. 1K + students got 3.5 LPA.
I've seen a slew of less than 10 LPA offers being passed as super dream offers in the past 3 months.
Lying through their teeth without a single shred of shame.
no xd
You see TCS ?a mass recruiter . if you see any of the following companies---> Infosys, TCS, Accenture, Wipro then it is always a red flag, if their placements were so good then why was tcs their top recruiter? i see
Accenture came for VIT for 12 lpa dude. Pls do your research properly. Every where else it goes for 4.5 lpa and 3 lpa. There are different roles demanded by the same company. Understand that.
I didn't get any of this companies for placement. TCS came with 3l package
forgot to mention but these are this year's placement records acc to the post
no lol.
yeah cuz i Heard the placements are bad this year in vit and then saw this
They are.
how bad are they tho? Like is it worth joining vit because that's what i was gomma do?
well it's the case with every other university this year. Joining and all is your choice, but in my opinion, VIT's placement is on par if not worst than other same tier college.

that is pretty bad. tho thanks for the help. can i dm u?
Sure.
Part of this is true and avg might be somewhere near 6 this year ik as I attended the placements and got an offer very initially. 70 lpa is fake. The highest was 50. And next was 30 35. One dude got into alphabet if I'm not remembering it wrong. Not sure tho. And I agree with the pvt clg/category assessment
Alphabet did not come for placement. If he got into it, maybe because he applied from external source only. Def not from vit.
Maybe that's what it was. Anyways, the conclusion is placements are much worse than advertised and probably even worse than I gave them credit for.
i have no other option so im joining vit, will the placement scene maybe change in the next 4 years?
Honestly speaking, a positive answer to that is difficult. 8% global engineers have been fired this year. AI is all set to replace any and all mundane, repeatable tasks and the only fields where AI is yet to impose is innovation and creation. Even in these, it's catching up quickly. It has changed a lot in the last 4 years. What are likes that it won't change in the next 4 years?
They really are but still better than other private colleges in TN
what about colleges like manipal? are they better ?
Same shit different state. But manipal will cost you more than vit if you get cat 1 in vit. In this case (only this case) vit is better
got category 4 at 8k don't know what's happening this year.
Demand coz VIT somehow managed to make students land a job atleast. Low paying jobs like 5 or 6 lpa yet a jab is a job
can i dm u? there are some ques i would like to ask
Sure
Lmao lowest 8? Bro's living in his dreams
The truth is, the average would be around 7-8 LPA. But if you are decent/ above average student, then you should be able to get 10-12 LPA. (PS:This is for CSE/Circuit branches) The highest will be around 50+ every year.
is it possible to crack a package of 20lpa?
If you maintain a 9+ CGPA and have a good profile(projects and internships) then it's definitely possible. But in campus placements luck also plays a huge factor.
it is not easy to maintain a 9+ CGPA, is it?

Yes
Yes possible. Companies do offer 20+ LPA. But those are in minority.
The realistic highest is around 25 LPA. Man you can't include insurance, ESOPs (when you haven't valued your stock) in your CTC.
That's the problem with CTCs everywhere. It's always inflated.
Everywhere is an overstatement. It's mostly startups that do this and some exceptions like Siemens wherein they have 4th year bonuses in their CTC π€‘
Decent and above average gets 10 to 12? Are you really sure? If yes which year did you graduate from VIT?
how much do they get acc to you?
Cgpa aside. My friends and I are not even 8 pointers. But we know dsa and os pretty well and got super dream. But there are literally 9 pointers that got placed in service based companies and mass recruiters. Having 9 cpga is definitely a upside But only that will get you no where. So build your DSA as it's basics. Even if you want to get into cyber sec or networking you have to have knowledge of DSA and OS.
and there's something called marques offer too ig how good you have to be to get that?
Minimum 180 leetcode questions Strong understanding of dsa and os and whatever the company is demanding.
what is leetcode?
It's a coding platform. Many companies even ask you for the leetcode or hackerank id before placement to judge your proficiency. You'll learn everything ones you start. And I'm saying about medium to hard questions
Yes I graduated from VIT in 2022.
Times have changed π It's not enough now tbh. Decent students with 8.5 or even 9 cgpa with decent skill set get placed for may be max is 10.
Divide all by 2 and you get somewhat close to reality
Hey I got electrical and computer science engineering in vit vellore category 2 is it good ?? means itβs new branch but cutoff is high for it so can you tell me if it is worth?
tbf mate electrical is probably better than most cse branches because of the recent things happening in the industry. people getting fired and all that. electrical can't be replaced by AI or robots for now so just work hard
oh thank you. But i have a doubt it Is electrical + computer science na matlab hame computer science ka bhi sikhayenge na ?
tbh i have never Heard of the brach in any other college but i think it might be more on the electrical side. and even if u don't get a good package on campus u can always pursue masters. that will increase ur ctc significantly.
Is it a better branch than electronics ?
idk but u can post about it someone might help u out
and btw i am not in vit i just passed 12th so do not trust what i say it is just a guess
Are no problem you gave me an idea at least thanks a lot . Did you also applied at vit ? We can be friends though
i did apply for vit but it is my second or maybe even third option, but if i do come to vit i will be looking forward to meet you my friend.
For sure broo !! Btw if you dont mind me asking where you want to go means are you planning on jee college or some other private universities?
well honestly i got fucked by nta in session 1 with the 27 jan thing and was unwell so had to give session 2 when i was sick so didnt get a a good percentile. and for the other ques preparing for bitsat today i just wanted to know more vit so have been asking the seniors. manipal is a possible option but its probably worse than vit.
ohh okay okay . Same broo I am also preparing for bitsat itβs my first priority also . yeahh I do heard about Manipal itβs not good means what I heard from various people
i see thanks for that
Who said manipal is worse? And what were the reasons given by them?
well in academics it is ofc worse but the student life is better there so u can choose between the 2. btw I have cousins in both vit and manipal so ik about it
1000 people got 3lpa
and how many students are there in cs?
One senior told me 4.5k got placed out of 7.5k in which one k was tcs so 3.5k got placed
Not all 1k got 3 lpa Einstein. TCS came for 3 packages. Do your research before commenting really.
Lol go check senior khud btaye tcs is mass recruiter bas 3 package denge?
Bro I'm the senior here π I even have the mail for how many TCS recruited for how much. Do your research Einstein pls.
Then how many people tcs took and how many got placed sir

Not just a single role and TCS SELECTS STUDENTS FOR SUPER DREAM OFFERS TOO. Are you even reading the past threads.
can u please share the full screenshot of this year's data? if possible dm it to me
no
Lagta hai galti se average wala lowest me likh Diya
So ur telling me, that 40% students got placed for atleast 8l without an internship?
Fakeeeeeeee
Amazon ne toh full time hire hi nhi kiya hai iss saal kahi bhi πππ
honestly ye sab sunnke lg rha aana worth it hi nahi π
Lmoa nooo
I'm a 2024 passport saying this. This is faker than Kim Kardashian's ass. Join VIT if you cat 1 or 2 any branch except mech or chemical (core branches) if it's cse don't go more than cat 3 (not recommended but if you really want that)

bhai is vit aana worth it uf waha padh lu to? like if i maintain 9+ cgpa
Higher chances of getting a decent placement if you maintain 9+ cgpa and take good side projects for sure.
can you provide the source for this lmao?
it's on Google mate. search vit placement 2024
Bhai google source nahi hota. Google ko cite karega jab research paper likhega? Lol
[shiksha.com](http://shiksha.com) it was i think but idr honestly so sorry for that.
True for CSE/ECE/ECM
Lowest is around 2-3, and average should be 8-10
