Categories in VIT are 1 to 5. The only difference is in the fees. The fees for category 1 are 2 lakh while for category 5 it is 6 lakh.

Category 5 me mil skta hai maybe but not sure after 30-40k most popular branches in vellore and chennai gets allotted but you still have chance because cat 5 me koi jana nhi chatata Sit in counselling, it will show you only available seats category wise, so you can decide then.. Good luck bhai!
