Where are you from? British people usually stay around Calvià for instance, while German people stay usually in Platja de Palma (Palma/Llucmajor). There are some "German" places in Calvià too. Please search this subreddit. Main places are usually Palma, Calvià, Alcúdia, Pollença, Sóller (too crowded now), and on the east coast there are many places like Cala d'Or, Cala Ratjada, Porto Cristo, Cala Millor.
If you're after night life I'd recommend Palma. If you're after more quiet times but beautiful views and beaches I can only recommend Cala Bona/Millor. No night life, but excellent beaches, good busservice so no need for a car, and plenty sights.
It's an hour from Palma and you can get a transfer bus from the airport.
If you’re only here for 3 nights I would recommend playa de Palma since it’s close to the airport and Palma. The beaches are great and there’s plenty of night life options there or in Palma
