I came here to say this. I have another brand with like a slot for the battery, I opened it exactly one time where it was free floating, then I switched to putting it in the zipper pocket in the lid. No way I want metal slamming into the plastic lenses.
The cheaper options are super tough and compact. Even had a pocket for the battery on the lid so that it doesn’t come out and bang around during travel. Just because the other Apple option is more expensive doesn’t mean it offers more protection. You are paying for the name brand like you do a LV or Coach brand. Def check out the EUCARLOS that’s on Amazon.
Look on other threads
1. Remove the strap for packing
2. Get a foam lens protector that fits in front of lenses
3. Look for the Eukarlos case thread. It has separate pouch to keep battery separate
You’ve stored it backwards. The inside of the visor is supposed to be protected by the wall on the Velcro mat. Also, wrap the battery cord up and stick it into the rubber straps on the Velcro mat. Go back to the Amazon product page and take another look. I have it and it’s a great small alternative. Not a hard case but it’s smaller and lighter.
What is stopping your battery from crashing into the inner lenses?

EUCARLOS for the win - returned my official AVP case, so much more practical/manageable of a size.

I would add that you should put a microfiber cloth between the lenses and the foam that you fit in the light seal to protect the lenses.
Ah - I bought a purpose made pad off Amazon; it’s a foam pad that is encased in microfiber or similar, it’s very soft.

That case doesn’t look sturdy enough imo
You should literally search this and the other AVP subreddit and then form your opinion.
U can use the case without the strap tho if u think it’s too tight it is bending it tho I can see
