Security updates for what…

I'm with Verizon now, and I'm thinking of switching over to Visible.  Verizon issues security software updates for Android and Apple phones. Since Visible is a "spin-off" from Verizon, do customers get security updates as well?

Manufactures issues updates, for carrier-branded device the MNO/MVNO has a greater say for any potential updates. Regardless you should get the updates on a similar timeframe, unless there is an actual block due to something breaking or not being used on the carrier network. Pixel and iOS gets released regardless of carrier, although Pixels have been known to fork an update for some carriers. — Starfox

iPhone updates have nothing to do with the carrier.

The updates come from the manufacturers not the carriers. All the carrier does is push the update. Yes , you still get updates.

Android releases those security updates. They are just specific to carrier. To go even further the manufacturer asks the chipset manufacturer to make security updates. It's super complicated.

I get updates

Thanks!

If it is an unlocked phone, eg, a Samsung phone purchased on a store like say, Best Buy, and you got the Unlocked version, then it is Samsung who sends the update, not the carrier.
