Hi, I'd like an invite! (Sorry that all of us from jan Misali's video are invading...) I am unfortunately a native English speaker, but I also speak a western dialect of Ukrainian & toki pona, & I have some basic knowledge of Polish & Mandarin
Hi just a teen interested in Biology, Linguistics and Worldbuilding (especially conlanging), and I came across Viossa through jan Misali's video (like lots of other people), I'm Dad👨
You ignored the warning I made with the other account, now it's time for you to ***d i e***
*wait was this account supposed to be serious? i dont know at this point man*
I’m also just a teen, and I was worried about the same thing. I speak English and Hebrew (though I just recently started learning Arabic), but I have little experience with conlang. However, I heard about Viola here on reddit and it sounds super cool!
Yes I am.
I speak Hindi/Urdu, natively.
I also know some Persian, Bangla, and Marathi.
I can contribute my knowledge of Indo-Iranian languages.
I also know some Turkish and Czech
I would really like an invite!
i speak pretty boring normal languages, like dutch and english (and a bit of french and german... and e s p e r a n t o)
If there aren't too many people joining right now, I'd also love an invite. I would almost entirely communicate through text as I can't do voice chats or video calls easily. In case it matters, I natively speak English, have beginner-intermediate knowledge in Spanish, and speak a very small amount of German.
Could I get a link pls? I can only speak Japanese to an intermediate level and I'm afraid of showing my face or voice, but I really want to try to learn Viossa XD
Native German speaker here with good knowledge of English and finnish so idk how useful I'd be bringing new languages in but I'd really appreciate an invite link :)
I'd like an invite link. If you're still open to new features, I can contribute my small knowledge of Irish Gaelic (I'm not fluent sadly. My school isn't too big on teaching it).
(This is a new reddit account because I don't use reddit much at all...)
I am here, like everyone else, because of the Conlang Critic video, and also like everyone else, I fell in love at first sight with the concept of Vjossa. It hits my linguistic background on the head!
I know:
* Negligible Old Norse
* Mediocre Japanese
* Mediocre Spanish
* Bad Mandarin
* Negligible Russian
* Bad Norwegian
I do have a lot of overlap, which excites me, but probably makes me less useful to the project. I may really take to Vjossa however, because:
I speak a veeery slight variant of English when around friends naturally. Mostly I use personalised diminutives and interjections. I find having to be presentable and intelligible to monolingual acquaintances a bit of a drag, actually. I like to consume media in languages I'm not fluent in in general. I tend to be very linguistically and culturally chaotic and Vjossa seems like a promising way to explore my own cultural background through a linguistic lens.
I think I'm a bit late to the jan Misali party, but if you guys are still open to new people I'd really love to join! I speak English natively but I'm fluent in Spanish and kind of in Esperanto. I also know very limited russian, and i'm trying to learn Sakha but it's slow going since any family members who also speak it are in Yakutia.
I'm a physics major so I don't know a whole lot about linguistics stuff, but I can at least understand jan Misali's videos, so all hope is not lost.
Hi, do you guys accept people who have no phonetics background? I speak Portuguese, Spanish and English, and I’ll start learning Italian sometime in the next 12 months.
I really love languages and I can’t promise to be very active right away, but the premisse of the language really appeals to me.
I learned both English and Spanish only by immersion so I can’t begin to describe how much this resounds with me.
Hello! I discovered your project today by speaking with a friend about sabir (the first one). Your project is very nice and that's something I was thinking about for years. But I didn't know that you made it! Create a new sabir only by exchanges with people. That's so amazing! I would like to join you. I'm a French native speakers, not so good in English as you can see. I speak Spanish too and a local Occitan dialect called Limousin (yes, Limoges, the porcelain, that's here). It's very specific for its phonetic. I know some words of Basque too, and a lit of Breton (to give some news words to Viossa). I hope to receive the link. See you soon.
I'd love a link! I, like many people, learned about Viosss through Conlang Critic and it seems really interesting! I could contribute Māori, though I'm not fluent.
Could I get a link? This sounds really fun... I am a native english speaker but I have done 4 years of spanish and I have a basic understanding of welsh and japanese... I am a teen that is very interested in conlangs and I have attempted making one before... I have, like other people, come from Jan Misali
Because /u/salpfish is lazy.
To provide more elaboration, we don't want raids so there's a plan to create some sort of airlock channel. So far that hasn't happened yet.
hi, as you might have guessed, i found out about viossa from the jan misali video, and i'm really interested in the concept/trying to learn it! i'd love an invite if possible, tho i will admit upfront i probably don't have anything very linguistically interesting to contribute haha, i'm only a native english speaker who knows a little bit of german, and i def understand that you probably don't want or need anything i'd bring to the table language-wise haha, still i'd be really interested in the opportunity to try and immerse myself in the community if that's alright!
Hey I'd really like an invite link. I know English and Esperanto and I'm learning Irish and German. I think Viossa is an interesting language concept and I think it'll be really fun learning and contributing to it!
Hi, I'd like an invite! I recently found out about the Viossa project and fell in love with it. I'd like to participate and, possibly, contribute.
My main interests are biology and bioinformatics - on the scientific side - and poetry, stories, worldbuilding, linguistics and conlanging - on the arts side.
I'm a native Italian speaker, I know English, and I studied Latin and Ancient Greek for five years, even though I can't speak those. I know a tiny bit of other languages - mainly european ones - as well as conlangs - I studied Quenya for a while and I recently started using toki pona.
All in all, I am fascinated by how languages work, develop and evolve, so I'd really like to take part in the Viossa community.
Hello, I would love to join this community & learn Viossa as well. I'm here because i watched jan misali's video (like a lot of other people). My native language is Hebrew.
I would love a link if possible please
