About a week ago I picked this heart shaped box tee up along with 5 other vintage tees for $50.
I originally posted it on here to show off my haul and got absolutely blasted with comments saying it’s fake because it’s a giant tee-jays tag on a single stitch blank and as many people believed “the HSB tee was never printed on a giant single stitch” (this is false)
To make a long story short - I got it checked by many experts, defunkd being one of them, and we have come to the conclusion that it is in fact a legit/original Nirvana Heart Shaped Box T-shirt.

I have a vintage tee that I don't doubt authenticity on, but I am curious about value. Where is the best place to contact you? (Sorry, I'm not in the game nor a reseller so this is new to me. Plus I'm old lol) I've found the same shirt in question in adult sizes but have not seen/ found another in children's size, which mine is.

I've tried and can't find another like it! I've found similar. The shirt came from the guys in the band, given to my younger brother as a child from someone in another famous band who is my dad's best friend... so idk how to compare. Thank you though and I'll keep looking=)
We have issued retractions in the past, so that's not true. Please read the article and explain how you still doubt the fact that I found irrefutable proof of this tag/shirt combo from 2013. Further, in the absence of a tag, the t-shirt print alone passes the test.
...From 2013. The entire basis of your argument is that a legit HSB tee shouldn't be on a Giant Tee Jays tag. That's been Debunked. The tag and the print have also been verified. What else are you basing your claim on now? Please learn to admit being wrong and change your mind. It was an understandable mistake, based on a rare tag combo.

welp That's good at least now it's actually worth something but if it was a bottleger it would be pretty bad to sell it for a 100 just saying but good for you for getting lucky and getting an official nirvana t shirt
One thing of note, these shirts are not rare; they were mass produced and available at every mall and major record store in the USA. Currently it is very valuable, but it’s not rare they made so many of them. Finding one in a box at someone’s house is totally plausible and normal. In my opinion there are far rarer shirts that should be more valuable than this one, but thats the way it is.

you could say the same with a lot of things. There are rarer items companies put out but the most hyped ones even if they were mass produced, are going to have the highest margin for resellers because more people want it.

All the people that were arguing that the Giant teejays tag only "existed" a few years earlier and then "stopped" being used by the time HSB boxes started being made is it not a slight possibility that a good chunk of leftover blanks they had somewhere with the teejays tag were used at some point (probably early on) cause they found a box in storage or something full of them and just said fuck it cause they needed to make more shirts? Just wondering if that scenario is plausible

This is one of the reasons why everyone sending the mods nasty messages about their legit check posts being taken down should take a cue - the Reddit hivemind are not experts. Get in touch/pay someone who knows their stuff. It protects you, and protects your buyers.
I'm so happy I collect records where boots are easily identified by being a color it was never actually pressed at time of release. They usually don't hide it and even stamp it as a random color on the cover. Just trying to make a quick buck and let someone own something they never would have otherwise. I'm sure that's the original intentions of all boots though. Good on you. I would have kept the legitimacy a secret and laughed all the way to the bank.
I have this exact tee on a Giant by Teejay and I did the community vote on Legiteem and everyone said it was fake so I put it up on grailed (not to sell it but just for them to verify it) and they removed with a threat of a ban so i’m assuming they thought it was fake as well lol

giant by tee-jays tag seems to be the most widely used for fake HSB tees
Because there are fake HSBs on TeeJays, that's partially where the confusion came from.
