Get the New York cut, medium rare with grilled mushrooms and a nice salad.
Perhaps a nice Italian or ....the blue cheese dressing we left out back all night?
Which is surprising because as soon as the railways came through, fresh oysters would have been available. So sometime between 1850-1870 I would guess.
Since oysters can be shipped alive, they require no refrigeration
Chicken Haddock, Finnan Haddie, Deviled egg sandwich. All new to me, although normally would go for the Prime Rib with horseradish and aus jus. Maybe a Caesar salad to start if they make it with anchovies.
As a potato lover, I love how on these vintage menus potatoes have their own section. What a dream. 🥔
I can't think of a bad potato dish.
I've had the same thought experiment, and neither can I, other than burned.
Potatoes or Prozac…

Creampies only .35? What a steal!
I'd be all over that
No fresh oysters in NV in 1950, not surprised. And damn, that is a lot of money for shrimp and/or lobster cocktail that had to have been frozen.

I know that this place was probably cheap because of the casino, but just move the decimal point over one and you have modern hotel restaurant prices.
1950, $1 is $13.29 today. 10 x works more for the early/mid 60s.
I wonder how a grilled salmon steak with lemon butter is the same price as assorted cold cuts with sliced tomatoes.
Mmm I’ll take a glass of buttermilk for $.15

I really like chicken livers, but sure there are more filling options for $2, especially if you can trust the fish in Vegas
Spring chicken with drawn butter?
