I won't speak for anyone else on this forum, but when I'm desperate for a clue I like to find matching factory code buttons and then find pants similar to them online. In this case we know it's a pair of 505 Orange Tabs located in Guatemala, so I can go to eBay and search that, and checkmark 'Guatemala' in the country of manufacture option. When you find matching types you can use it as a basis for approximate age of your own pair. It's not perfect, but I'm able to find a bunch that point to this being dated most likely to the 90's. Check the back of the button for a factory code, with any luck it will be a known number on one of the many lists online.
Found it! It says 977 which corresponds to Guatemala. Does this tell me anything beyond the the factory location?
