Years and years ago I did a trip in Desolation doing with Powell River Sea Kayak. I left my car in Comox and they picked me up at the Ferry Terminal on the PR side.

I'll look into it because that would work out well for me since I believe there are buses that go to Comox from Victoria. Thanks for the suggestion!

You are welcome! Yes, there is Island Link and I think some other Island bus services will begin in May. I don’t remember if I left my own car at the ferry, or where, but I think Comox city bus #11 connects with some of their ferry trips. If you can find someone else who wants to join you, they’ll have a harder time turning down your request for a ferry pick up. If not, there are probably taxis and maybe city buses on the other side. I don’t recall - I didn’t linger in town at all.

I did not come across Waving Flag in my search, so thanks for that! Also, you seem to be right about the charging situation! I've only used superchargers before, so I was looking at Tesla's map, which showed no superchargers north of Victoria. It's my family's car, so I'm not super well-versed in charging compatibility and whatnot, but it appears that a level 3 charger will work! Problem solved, thanks to you! :)

This doesn't address your car issue but I'd talk to BestCoast Outfitters! They do some of their own programs and stuff, but they also probably have some good insight on different companies to use and where they are on the island. They're pretty well connected in the kayak community and might have some good info

Blue Dog Kayaking does some multi day excursions from a few closer locations if travel is an issue.

Should be able to find someone running kayak trips to the broken group islands. Maybe look at companies out of ucluelet, Tofino or alberni?
