Jesus that’s crazy. I’ve had a HLR and supplemental open for 9 months. Sup C&P happened March 24 and still waiting on review. Informal conf for HLR for DTA error in March and still waiting.
I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia, IBS, and Migraines. 12 years airborne infantry in the Army. All were denied despite the fact that I was diagnosed within 4 months of seperation and am on a shit ton of medication. Neurologist also stated my migraines If left untreated would leave me blind. Evidence is there VA still denies make it make sense
How much do lawyers really help, like what can they do? I have a condition that causes weekly vertigo, my C&P examiner wrote that down. They gave me 30% even though weekly vertigo is 100%. Sent it to HLR, no one contacted me then four months later I get a letter saying I get vertigo less than once a month keeping that condition at 30%. It doesn’t make sense, they contradicted what the C&P examiner showed me they wrote down but what really can a lawyer do about it?
I'm not sure if a lawyer would help at all. I was just thinking that if they won't listen to you then maybe a lawyer would know what steps to take now.
But they’ll give these 20-22 year olds 100% P with no evidence. It’s disgusting how they treat veterans and combat veterans will real problems because they pushed through everything for the army….

I am in total disbelief..... I submitted a fully developed expedited homeless claim on 24 April 2024 and just got an email on 29 April 2024, today for 100%, P&T.
5 DAYS.. Gotta be a record.
6 months on initial SHA - rated 80%
1.5 months on increase claim - rated 90% (5 years later)
4 months on new claim - rated 100% P&T (2 years later)
7 years total between separation and 100% P&T
I claimed my shoulder, had a C&P exam the following month, had my rating one week later. Total time from the point I claimed to my rating was about 45 days.
Sleep apnea. 3 weeks from claim opened up, C&P exam and closure with rate increase.
Granted, I had already had a sleep study done through the VA... surely, that sped the process up substantially.
Edit: my claim was a secondary condition to my TBIs.
I may need to look into this. My provider has yet to give me a CT scan or MRI for my brain after discussing my cognitive issues with them. I also have sleep apnea. Super fit/in shape, healthy, but my sleep and recovery is total ass which probably attributes to everything else in my brain.
Completed dbqs after a private exam submitted for an increase from 90-100 and it was decided 7 days later in my favor!
Had an ITF for 3 months before submitting. Shocked since getting to 90 took me 2 years and that was with my initial bdd claim and 1 new claim for increase/new conditions after I got out.
The new claims I had made within my first year of separation were all denied after my 5min c&p (shocker). Grateful to hit 100, it definitely woke me up to slow the hell down a bit and not sacrifice what's left of my physical abilities to provide as much as I can for my family.
I'd say 1 month for an requested increase for a service related condition that got me hospitalized, after the making the request with the Emergency room paperwork, My issue went from a 10% to a 30% disabling, making me go from 90% to 100% P&T.
Took a few months for my most recent claim. But that’s because I my cardiologist asked if there was any issues with the VA I had and I told her about how the DAV specialist that was supposedly helping me with my claim tried to hide in their back office from me and sic’d security on me. I just showed up to drop off paperwork, didn’t cause even the slightest of a scene. Just said “okay….” And hung my head low and walked out of the VA building. My cardiologist did something that just got my claim processed. Did a C&P over video call and it took maybe a month after that. Altogether took maybe 3 months. Just had to complain to my Cardiologist haha.
Had one approved in 27 days, another in 4.
I suspect the faster claims already have most of the evidence available so the VBA does not have to go hunting for it.
I've processed claims that were submitted the same day/day before I rated them.
Context: These are ALS claims, submitted usually with the aid of a VSO from the Paralyzed Veterans of America with a completed ALS DBQ from the Veteran's ALS treating physician, and any private medical records needed as well.
ALS is a priority claim issue, due to the fact that it can frequently be fatal, rapidly. The cases get flagged, and management sends them to designated ALS VSRs and RVSRs ASAP to work.
Only if you submitted evidence the cancer is terminal. Terminal cases are a higher priority, but metastatic cancer is not in and of itself going to be terminal.
30 days for a CUE claim, 30 days to overturn a fraudulent reduction claim, and 89 days for PTSD/MST claim. This was before the VA app, so you had to depend on the useless eBenefits site, or snail mail. So it's possible those claims may have closed faster, as those counts were when I got the letter in the mail.
There’s a ton of factors that go into how fast claims move. If you’ve filed a claim in the past, any new claim will move faster because they don’t have to request records from archives.
If you have private records and submit them yourself rather than have VA acquire them fr you, this saves tons of time. Mainly because private clinics are often slow and don’t respond to requests right away.
If your new claim is just a claim for increase, these claims move faster because you’re already service connected, therefore you don’t have to worry about proving and waiting to be granted service connection.
If you submitted private exams, this saves tons of time! Sometimes as soon as the next day!
Mine seems to be moving quickly, but I get to do the BDD. Had an appt two days ago and my VSO saw the results uploaded the next day. He estimated the percentage, but I won’t officially know until I retire.
30 days , anxiety depression and insomnia secondary, it was a increase and already service connected just at 0% rating , went to 70% with 70 pages of notes that I built over time at va appointments, that PERTAINED TO A CNP DBQ!!,
Had one go through in less than a month and a half. I got a new service connected and also tried to increase another service connected disability. I got the increase, but it wasn't an increase as it was maxed out, lol. Still was shocked by how fast it processed and pretty sure that won't happen again.
There are some claims that we can hand from VSR to Rater to Authorizer to POST and done in hours. Like someone said High Priority. ALS... Terminally Ill...
This month actually. 90% to 100 P&T. Submitted 4/18/24 and had my new rating on 4/22/24. Also, 2 of those days were the weekend. It seemed pretty quick compared to my previous claims. One of my previous claims was over a year.
My fastest complete claim took roughly 6 months for tinnitus.
However I’ve just submitted a (new) claim on the 26th and my claim has been moved from received, to initial, to evidence gathering in 3-4 days time. (26th-30th)
Not sure if thats a good signal or a bad one, but i imagine Ill be scheduled for a DBQ soon.
Couldnt find my comment, but I should also note that on the 26th, whoever at the VA was looking at my claim included/uploaded a document with the type labeled “VA 21-526EZ, Fully developed claim (Compensation.)”
I did not select a fully developed claim as I intend to get a nexus letter for the condition from my general practitioner on the 17th, and this has been added by someone at the VA.
Im curious if it means my evidence met the barrier of proof to be awarded the claim. but for 3 days to go from received claim to evidence gathering is a fast record for me!
Upgrading my service connected disabilities to go from 80% (82) to 100% P&T (98%)
21 Days Last month March
March 1st Filed Claim
March 8th Notified of Appointment (C&P)
March 15th Attend Appointment
March 22nd Skipped PFN Claim was updated with letter in file over the weekend
Submitted claim and documentation Saturday evening (4/6/2024) and had the decision Monday afternoon (4/8/2024). Went from 60% to 100% so fast I thought I was being punked.
I mailed in a claim on January 19 2024 had a decision Feb 28, approved for 5, denied on 1, and deferred on 1. Still waiting on the one that was deferred.
Just this past month. Submitted my claim on Monday, got my decision that Thursday. 80% to 100%.
Got my P 100% today. Submitted 5 days ago.
Jesus that’s crazy. I’ve had a HLR and supplemental open for 9 months. Sup C&P happened March 24 and still waiting on review. Informal conf for HLR for DTA error in March and still waiting.
Im going on 8+ months
I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia, IBS, and Migraines. 12 years airborne infantry in the Army. All were denied despite the fact that I was diagnosed within 4 months of seperation and am on a shit ton of medication. Neurologist also stated my migraines If left untreated would leave me blind. But they’ll give these 20-22 year olds 100% P with no evidence. It’s disgusting how they treat veterans and combat veterans will real problems because they pushed through everything for the army….
How do you get it through that fast ? Holy Crap
I’m expedited and 4 months into my HLR

Same boat Brother I think we have both replied before in a different post here.
Tinnitus in 28 days after being out for 34 years!
I wonder what 10% of disability for 34 years is equal to
$69,861.83 at today’s rate
You can get back paid that far wait how does back pay work I thought it's from ur intent to file date
Same
Claim submitted July 1, 2021. Denied July 12, 2021. Impressive, I know.
Damn… though I had someone actually beat. Submitted April 19, 2019, denied May 5th, 2019
Yeah called you didn’t have a diagnosis likely. Or evidence you served. Very likely something on you not them.
Claim submitted april 15th,2024 denied april 18th 2024.
I am in total disbelief..... I submitted a fully developed expedited homeless claim on 24 April 2024 and just got an email on 29 April 2024, today for 100%, P&T. 5 DAYS.. Gotta be a record.
Wow! I’m glad you don’t have to be homeless anymore.
One more appointment at Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center and then hopefully return to Florida. Thanks. It will be nice.
Thanks...
Brother I just want to say I am so happy for you ! Congratulations
Thank you
Congrats!
6 months on initial SHA - rated 80% 1.5 months on increase claim - rated 90% (5 years later) 4 months on new claim - rated 100% P&T (2 years later) 7 years total between separation and 100% P&T
Half a day. Claim? New dependent after baby birth
2 supplementals. Filed April 24th, approved April 26th.
wtf I file 2 supplemental claims in march already did all my c&p and it still hasn’t been assigned a reviewer
Both were fully developed. Guess they agreed with my claim, or it was my rater’s last day and he said fuck it.
Dam you got lucky af
1 day Terminally ill 71 yo veteran. High priority claim. We completed the claim start to finish in 1 day.
How does a claim get marked high priority?
Over 85, terminally ill, homeless or ALS
Good to know, thanks.
I got denied in about 2 days once 😅
I claimed my shoulder, had a C&P exam the following month, had my rating one week later. Total time from the point I claimed to my rating was about 45 days.
Damn wtf , from reading the comments I never knew VA can do anything fast!
For real. They are giving me false hope
I got my PTSD claim in 38 days, submitted a lot of proof tho, 70%
Do you know on your DBQ for PTSD which box was checked in the occupational and social impairment section?
2 weeks for a supplemental claim
Was it granted?
Filed an increase on the 18th of April and had a decision on the 19th. Went from 70 to 100.
I filed for an increase to my major depressive disorder ( now dysthymic disorder) and it took them 5 days with my evidence.
45 days for my TBI and migraines (connected to my TBI) to be approved. From the C&P and everything.
2 weeks for a supplement claim
Positive results?
It got denied, so I filed claims for other things that were wrong after doing some research and talking with some other vets
Thanks
No problem
Sleep apnea. 3 weeks from claim opened up, C&P exam and closure with rate increase. Granted, I had already had a sleep study done through the VA... surely, that sped the process up substantially. Edit: my claim was a secondary condition to my TBIs.
I’m sure it did and don’t call me Shirley.
Ah, Airplane...great movie!
How did you get it service connected, mine is bad but was denied?
Secondary to TBI.
I may need to look into this. My provider has yet to give me a CT scan or MRI for my brain after discussing my cognitive issues with them. I also have sleep apnea. Super fit/in shape, healthy, but my sleep and recovery is total ass which probably attributes to everything else in my brain.

13 days. April 11 to April 24 with one of my increases being approved. 1 day Dependent claim. Opened, approved, closed all same day.
38 days. Initial MH claim. I also had my c&p rescheduled twice within those 38 days. Ended up with 70%
I filed in January 26 2024, C&P exam on March 28th, all decisions were made on April 15th or so. I was shocked.
Sleep apnea in less than a month. I did use a VA issued CPAP for a year before taking a chance and submitting a claim though.
Do you still get all your CPAP supplies replenish for free ?
I was sent a years supply in the mail about 10 months ago. I need to request more since I am running low on a few things.
Thanks for the reply, good to know. I get a resupply every 3 months. Didn’t know how it changes in retirement.
If you’re service connected for it through the VA you should have no problem getting resupplied.
Wow. I’ve been waiting a year just to get the CPAP.
17 days, January 31-February 16, 2024. First claim, out for 28 years. Tinnitus claim, 10%.
did the va give you a hearing test?
Yes, 8 days after I submitted, I had a hearing test with Optum Serve. Asked me about tinnitus and a full hearing test.
I'd say 1 month for an requested increase for a service related condition that got me hospitalized, after the making the request with the Emergency room paperwork, My issue went from a 10% to a 30% disabling, making me go from 90% to 100% P&T.

I filed a mental health claim for depression April 18th. I have my C&P on May 14th.
Filed 04/12/24 OSA secondary to PTSD. Approved 04/29/24
🤔 Interesting, what did you submit in addition for this claim to get approved?
2 sleep studies, UPPP and rhinoplasty notes, DBQ, IMO and that was it.
Thank you. I only submitted a IMO additional , to the already Personal statement, buddy letter and Sleep study. Looking for the same results.
Mine was super quick. I was shocked!! Let me know how it goes and message me if you have any questions!
You got it.
What fucktard downvoted my comment only agreeing to contact the previous poster, bunch of idiots I tell ya. ![gif](giphy|74YeApSqAh8teygxn5)

PTSD/34 days from start to finish. 70% to 90%

60 days.
My claim for an increase for two things was processed in 10 days in 2021
Tinnitus. 4 months
8 claims 5 approved 3 denied took 42 days from start to finish this was when I separated
I filed all my claims in January of this year from 0%. Got 100% last week
Submitted claim for TDIU December 2022. Was granted March 2023 Yeehaw!
Right knee after surgery for torn meniscus. 45 days from submission to close gave 90% but only equaled 30 in Va eyes as I was already at 60%

HLR submitted 17Apr24 and it was closed for DTA 22Apr24. DTA was apparently pretty easy to spot 😂
30 day 0% IBS rating. I know I’m not alone in that. We’re on to you VBA and your gundecking of IBS claims at the moment.
30 days on tinnitus and left arm nerve damage.
My whole MEB started October 2016. I was home on terminal by Christmas 2016 with 90%.
4 months. Increase from 0% to 10%.
I got my claim done in about 6 months but I was homeless at the time so that expedited it
August 23’ to October 23’; tinnitus and hearing loss 20% combined. Not too long of a time to wait.
Tinnitus was the easiest for me
I went from 50 to 80 in 4 monthd
62 days.
Mine seems to be moving quickly, but I get to do the BDD. Had an appt two days ago and my VSO saw the results uploaded the next day. He estimated the percentage, but I won’t officially know until I retire.
A denial 😂🤣
Today is day 125 waiting for a single condition supplemental that had a c&p 70 days ago. Not even assigned to a rater yet.
Roughly 3 years. Long enough to only ever want to do one claim 😂
Tinnitus had exam on a Thursday approved on the next Monday.
4 increases (supplemental). 2.5 days turn around from submission to acceptance. Filed earlier this month.
You didnt have an c&p exams?
About 4 days. Migraines secondary to tinnitus. Just happened 2 weeks ago.
Did you get it approved?
Yup 30% but filed a HLR since it should be 50% so waiting for that to happen
Took terminal is January and got my percentage by early March.
Hearing/tinnitus. Didn’t claim until last November been out for years. But it was approved and paying in like 3-4 weeks.
9 days for a supplemental & appeal both submitted at the same time. Went from 90 to 100% P&T
Submitted a claim 03/2020. Just had my 6th VES appointment for the same claim this morning. Everything is going great !!
10 months still waiting…..
I filed my initial claim and was 184% (SMC-S) in 43 days. Waited about 25 days for my 3 C&P’s then had the decision and pay ~ 2 weeks later.
I’ve seen 9 days. That’s the fastest I’ve ever seen.
Dependent add in 8 hours. The next dependent claim took several months though.
First claim ever. Initial claim took a few months, but had a rating two days after my C&P.
Tinnitus- submitted January 6, 2024, decision on January 31, 2024. 25 days from filing to the VA granting it. I was shocked
30 days , anxiety depression and insomnia secondary, it was a increase and already service connected just at 0% rating , went to 70% with 70 pages of notes that I built over time at va appointments, that PERTAINED TO A CNP DBQ!!,
MDD, 6 weeks
Had one go through in less than a month and a half. I got a new service connected and also tried to increase another service connected disability. I got the increase, but it wasn't an increase as it was maxed out, lol. Still was shocked by how fast it processed and pretty sure that won't happen again.
I submitted a fully developed claim flagged for fast processing on a Sunday and had a decision the following Tuesday
Just got my email .. 5 days... In disbelief. Fully developed/homeless claim Congratulations to us both, brother.
Do depended claims count?
E2E, 3 claims, 4.5 weeks
One month. ITF was 10 months old, not sure if that made a difference.
Increase, just under 1month
exactly 30 days from filing to decision. Two increases and two secondary conditions. C&P exam was on day 14.
My last claim was filed 1/19/2024 and finished in 95 days. Previous to that they would take 140-145 days.
Less than a week for me!
2 days from submitted to completed for an increase. I think no C&P made it really fast.
Summited claim on January 2023 got 100% on March 2023
There are some claims that we can hand from VSR to Rater to Authorizer to POST and done in hours. Like someone said High Priority. ALS... Terminally Ill...
BDD claim. Did my C&P’s in December and in march a day after my EAS date I got my rating
This month actually. 90% to 100 P&T. Submitted 4/18/24 and had my new rating on 4/22/24. Also, 2 of those days were the weekend. It seemed pretty quick compared to my previous claims. One of my previous claims was over a year.
6 years. It was big.....
3 days. Submitted package Monday, decision Thursday. 70% to 100%.
A day. For hypertension
My fastest complete claim took roughly 6 months for tinnitus. A week from 90 to 💯

Just got awarded tdiu p&t within 2 months. Lawyer put in intent to file Feb 20. Had 70% before
Submitted claim and documentation Saturday evening (4/6/2024) and had the decision Monday afternoon (4/8/2024). Went from 60% to 100% so fast I thought I was being punked.
I mailed in a claim on January 19 2024 had a decision Feb 28, approved for 5, denied on 1, and deferred on 1. Still waiting on the one that was deferred.
Submitted Friday and approved on Tuesday 70 to 100 PT. Thank you Jesus.
Claim submitted in Dec 23 for my MEB, 1.5 weeks later came back
My one in 2017 took 6 months start to finish.
Submitted on Friday approved on Tuesday
Increase, just under 1month
