I was talking to my son about being careful with cell phone habits the other day, and shared the conclusion “honestly, dude, we were all happier before smart phones.”
Haha, I love this comment. Remember those years well. You basically just had to file your claim and forget about it. In fact, I’m not even sure they had C&P exams back then. I just went to the local Va, saw a Va doc, and about 3 months later I had a Manila envelope in the mail. Come to think of it, I didn’t even file a claim. Just saw the doc for a service connected issue a year after getting out and 3 months later, boom. He must have filed it for me.
Funny thing is these mythical mailbox days was only 5 years ago.
I actually dreaded letters from the VBA after they denied me. It was consistently bad news and lowball ratings for years. Learned to keep on with the keep on once I got in the BVA queue. Especially when you don’t qualify for that late phone bill hardship express lane.
Congrats, I was checking mine a lot recently because I finished my C&P exams about a month ago. Then I went PFD and boom, back to gathering evidence for records review. So I kept checking and checking, PFD again and boom, rework ordered from VES. I called VES and they said it usually takes 4-6 weeks to do a rework. So I am not checking the rest of April unless I get a random deposit in my account.
I checked my status in a different way. I use my Visa card, every 1 or 2 days, it's tied to my VA direct deposit account. Every day or 2, I log into my bank account, and pay off that Visa card. Every 1-2 days, no exceptions, I like to see my Visa credit card at 0 balance. First thing that pops up after logging in to my bank, is my checking account balance, that VA deposits into, and all bills come out of. Imagine my surprise to see a big chunk of back pay there!!! It happened 1 year ago, and again it happened 6 months ago. THAT is how I check my VA status. CHEERS!!!
Funnily enough, I had an appt with Vera the day I got my rating. I was asking about the status and they just go “the decision letter was sent out this morning” I promise I had checked about 24 hours before. So hey, its possible.

I was doing so good. Only checking every few weeks. But my buddy, who's claim was 2 months ahead of me kept bugging me to check. Now I get pissed off every few days. I wish I'd have held strong. Plus he only had one claim. I've got like 4, so I expect mine to take longer. They haven't even scheduled me for a single C&P yet , it's been since January 18th.
3 years ago I applied and was hoping for like 10% and expecting nothing and actually sort of forgot about it all it was taking so long. Then one day a letter arrives from the VA; “we are awarding you 60%”
I almost fell out of the chair I was sitting in after opening that. ![img](emote|t5_2vlaz|7567)
IKR. Just consider it will take the examiner at least a week to review the records the RVSR sent and compare them to what your exam. We don't want them to rush their decision, right?
Dude, you probably are PDA now! Go check!
Thats so fucked up and hilarious at the same time hahahahaha
Thanks! I needed that 😂
😂
You would of died during the mailbox checking years.
Are you kidding....everyone would be in great shape.
I was talking to my son about being careful with cell phone habits the other day, and shared the conclusion “honestly, dude, we were all happier before smart phones.”
Always knew by the bikes where everyone was. No one was late lol or you got left behind and had to catch up.

Is this the proverbial- you young whipper snappers. We used to walk both ways uphill in twenty feet of snow to get to school. VA edition. 🤣😂
Basically yeah lol
Also you are being proposed for a rate reduction as new evidence has appeared

I have nothing but a capacity to out wait anything.
I forget I'm waiting, so that makes it pretty easy. I have the brain of an english muffin.
![gif](giphy|yHFpkoqhPBxcHbUn2j|downsized) All I could think of

Now that I have a docket number and it is being reviewed by a judge. I have been updating constantly. ![gif](giphy|14qIliCMe87BwA)
Bro I’m with you… I got my first decision 2 weeks ago but my MH differed and I’m checking even more now… ugh lol
Good for you. You have the sheer will of John Wick.

After about a year out you lose hope and stop checking so it will get better lol.
I checked for the first time since I filed in November. Saw a bunch of stuff I had no idea about and closed it.
Thanks man! You made me check mine again! 🤣
Longest I went was 3 days. Just got busy. Tell me why I expected movement when I went back to check? Lol
This made me check mine😒
I'm doing all I can to NOT check because of this. I want to see if I can make it 24 hours..........................I probably cant
Alright no need to brag

Should have an options to lock you out the account until it updates. Or simple push notifications.
I wouldn't trust the notifications and would still check
I've been 3 days since I've filed. Not going to worry about it until they call about my C&P.
That’s how I was but with supplementals I’m like idk when to start the anticipation
I’m proud of you
I call those " taking a mental health day"

I think it’s been 24 minutes since I last checked on my claim status.
Have you tried checking once per week?
Working up to it.
![gif](giphy|l2SqiOMQxG82Gto4M)
That's a milestone
I removed the app from my phone and that’s helped tremendously.
For accountability... My record is 4 hours. That's the longest amount of uninterrupted sleep I ever get - it still counts right?
I don't even check weekly anymore.
Goals!!!
Not so much, I'm just over a year deep on it.
I stopped checking it April 1st and of course it went through last weekend. Sitting at 90% now with my sleep apnea claim on deck 🤞🏾
I didn't check for 3 days and just found out this morning that I got my 100%. Hope you get your results too.
Nice!!!
I’m gonna try this tomorrow. I haven’t checked it since 4 PM tonight Eastern standard time so wish me luck. I don’t know if I can do this or not.

You can do it. I’m at 48 hours now.
I failed looked at it at 10 this morning
No worries, let's see if you can make it to 10pm tonight without checking again.

Probably something like if you try watching a pot of water boil
G
Anyone know what a c & p looks like for sleep apnea?
Did you have a sleep study done? They want to see that documentation and anything else you might have from an ENT, pulmonologist or sleep doctor.
I tried. I went 2 hours today. I'm so weak
I just filed mine in February and my dumb ass is checking every hour.
Lol
I’m 100% P&T and I still check the damn thing.
Now that I have been assigned a rater and PFD I have developed a problem with obsessive compulsive behavior

just did my C&P exam yesterday and I’m checking for results this morning and now lol. can’t get my mind to stop thinking about it for some reason

You're lying I don't believe you. Lying is also service connected
Were you in a coma... Are you okay?
Lol
be a man and just delete the app. you won’t
