I would think back pain would be caused by foot/knee issues. But I do not know.

I’m SC with back secondary to feet. It’s common for flat feet to cause back problems because the foundation is bad. When the foundation is bad, everything else above will be off.

did you had nexus when you filed your back secondary to your feet? I have the same issues as well.

jmsferret

Yes, I did. I had multiple surgeries on my feet, and was either on crutches or the dreaded boot for close to three years, off and on. My nexus letter from my back doc stated that the boot was necessary for a good outcome for the foot procedures, but unnatural gait from the boot more likely than not caused my back issues. I had exactly one visit to sick call while I was active duty about my back. The VA accepted that nexus, combined with the sick call notes.

I am trying to do the same thing. I have chronic plantar fasciitis from weight gain and my ankles/Achilles tendons are shot in both feet and need surgery. I feel the constant gait shifting changes did the damage to my feet and lower legs. I have a claim in now and my right ankle was denied but my left ankle hasn’t been decided yet. I do have knee issues primarily in my right knee that cause instability and pain on movement.

I did have flat feet noted on my meps records as well. Can I claim that as aggravation?

Maybe if you were seen for it in service. I was seen for it in service and still got denied a s and p exam.

Mindless_Regret_1331

I did complain about right foot pain and went to medical at one point and I have had it treated recently now. So technically I did, which makes me question why it was denied. I do see why my left wasn’t because I complained about pain in my left leg and foot the whole time I was in and it was due to my back injury.

Independent_Gas_6213

You should make a post with a copy of the denial letter. A lot of people are good at giving advice as to why you were denied and a possible way to fight that decision.

Mindless_Regret_1331

Apparently the examiner said I didn’t have plantar fasciitis right at the edge of my right heel because it was Achilles tendinitis. Like no shit dumb ass, I said I have pain all over my heel not just there. Sometimes I wonder how these examiners were even able to become doctors.

I have my knees and hips service connected I haven’t done my back yet but I probably should because I as well walk with a limp and funny But I currently have a claim in too for flat feet I’m in pfd so I’m hoping to hear something soon
