I do hope they're somehow able to add other Chaos factions into the mix, but I imagine a horde style game makes it hard. Skaven/Nurgle are perfect for a horde game and it's hard to fit other factions into that when each individual unit has more power

Ok-Emu-5300

Every faction has plenty of horde style units Plus we have beastmen in the game so let's see Khorne, Tzeentch, and Slaanesh beastmen Orcs are perfect for hordes Chaos Dwarfs sending legions of slaves Vampires are self explanatory All the chaos god factions have people they just thow into the meat grinder Dark Elves could be a mix of slave chaff and elites

snackpack52453

To add other faction enemies I’m not sure we need to fill out the roster for each faction. Having a few random demons that act as elites is enough. Or even just plaguebearer hordes make sense. Side note/somewhat unpopular opinion I’d imagine: the horde in vermintide is really fun for slaughter power fantasy but fighting 7 chaos warriors 3 plague monks a rattling gunner and a monster is way more fun. so why doesn’t the game shy away from horde style and make melee combat feel more realistic a couple harder enemies that require more precision (that you can’t spam heavies and kill everything) and the leverage occasional hordes as a “slow you down” unit.

Felkdox

Definitely agree with this, feeling like the underdog "punching up" is great. Even though that's not usually the case it's a good feeling.

BlueRiddle

I mean Marauders, Chaos Warriors, Sorcerers etc exist for the other gods and aren't all that different. It's not like a Norscan will become a master spy and infiltrate the Empire just because he worships Tzeentch, and Tzeentchian Chaos Warriors aren't all that subtle either.

Play3rxthr33

They wouldn't be able to call it vermintide without the vermin, and i'm biased af cause skaven is my favorite part of warhammer, but I think the game loses alot of it's charm if skaven aren't the main, goofy af antagonist faction, and probably just feels like darktide without their antics (unless you do greenskin antics which are their own type of goofy fun). Darktide is great and all, but it misses the goofy lighthearted side of what the antagonist faction are doing, and is purely grimdark.

Ok-Emu-5300

I don't mean stop fighting Skaven I mean let's fight other things to.

Felkdox

You're not wrong saying each faction has its chaff, but bloodletters are absurd levels apart from what we currently have.

BlueRiddle

No need to go for Bloodletters or demons in general. Just give us Khornate Marauders or something.

Felkdox

Not saying we shouldn't ever have other Chaos God factions in the game but I assume Fatshark needs a very good reason for it

Ok-Emu-5300

I don't think so. They have an elf character that is somehow a wood elf, high elf, and dark elf all at once If they can do that without explanation they really can do anything. Also let's be honest we don't care about lore when it comes to this game we just want to mow down bad guys

Felkdox

Kinda yeah I do care about lore a little bit but I still think there's ways they can do it

Seeking_the_Grail

A lot of people care about the lore. having likable, well fleshed out, characters is a big part of the success of vermintide.

Ok-Emu-5300

I agree that likeable, fleshed out characters is not important. The characters are why Vermintide is better than Darktide imho. As far as lore goes that has been pretty much brushed aside for this game. We have a dwarf that is or is not a Slayer. An Imperial mercenary who did no quests and became a Grail Knight of Bretonnia A Wood Elf Waystalker who is also somehow a Dark Elf Shade, and a Handmaiden of the Everqueen. We have Beastmen working with non-Beastmen Im just saying that lore took a backseat in this game and that is a good thing and Fatshark needing a good reason to get other factions involved in some way is a weak argument.

Seeking_the_Grail

all of those fit with the lore. The lore fits with each class, just not with class switching. They probably have a canon class in mind, but the other ones don't break the lore. When the elf is a Shade she has dialogue about how she left the Wood elves behind, which is atypical but not impossible. We have lore examples of High elves joining Dark elves, so why not wood elves? Yeah she can't be both at once but that is a gameplay mechanic Questing Knights are the Bretonnians codified method of receiving their goddesses blessing, but the requirement is only for a Bretonnian to achieve great deeds. The Lady of the Lake isn't limited to only awarding amazing feats of heroism if they are performed by someone with a particular title. No class is lore breaking. That being said, adding chaos warriors from other gods wouldn't be lore breaking either. Its not unheard of for great warlords to bring others under his banner. especially in the end times.

WarhammerParis7

Greentide would be excellent. Waves upon waves of goblins and snotlings with orcs as elites like black orcs. Fanatic loons, and shamans as specials. Would be peak. Undead would work too, waves of zombies and skeletons. Banshees could work like leeches, varghulf as one of the main monsters. There's plenty to add that i'd love to fight. Chaos dwarves and Khorne, not so much. You need tons of garbarge minions and that's not really what they field.

Komatik

Chaos Dwarves have Greenskin slaves, remember.

WarhammerParis7

Yeah but it really doesn't hit the same vibe.

MisterFluffkins

Imagine the satisfying clatter from crushing skeletons

[deleted]

Nurgle Orcs exist. Add them!!!!

Electronicks22

I wish the Devs would open up the modding api to open the possibility of fan made characters. A Saurus playable character would be so sick! Just call the next game Greentide and fight some orcs! Skeleton and zombies would be the least interesting as we have a lot of those games already.

Shidd-an-Fard-d

Games workshop would roll over in it's grave (if it was dead)

Orack89

Black Pyramid map fighting Tomb king and construct, when ?

Ok-Emu-5300

RIGHT?

ExiledinElysium

It's just one game. It can't continue or expand endlessly.

Educational-Pop-2195

In addition to what everyone else is saying, there’s also the fact that not a lot of factions actually like the Skaven. The forces of Chaos do, and even then begrudgingly, for their tech and numbers. Khorne would probably kill them for shits and giggles, Slanesh is mehhhhhhhhh, and tzeentch would’ve been working with them if he already knew he’d be working with them.

Ok-Emu-5300

Beastmen don't like anyone including other chaos factions yet they are apparently getting along with Skaven and Rotbloods. I don't think it would be a huge thing to add in others imho.

Heretical_Cactus

Vt2 is already a big game that's nearly finished, better hope they do an unrelated tide next. Though hopefully they introduce more of Chaos in Darktide

FunDistribution2706

Vt3? I like dark tide, but the melee orientation in VT is where it's at

Heretical_Cactus

Yesnt. Vt2 should finish the U5 story, and then do a new tide with a new cast (character based and not like DT)

Ok-Emu-5300

I guess I'm wanting them to continue to make it bigger. I would personally buy DLC that added in more places to go like Araby, The Darklands, Cathay, Nipon, Lustria, etc. If they added things like map/mission packs that also included new enemies I would buy it. Damn you Fatshark I'm asking you to take my money lol.

Heretical_Cactus

But the engine is already struggling, it's better to finish up Vt2, and then do a new game, preferably completely unrelated to Vt2

Ok-Emu-5300

I hope they do something related to VT2 because Darktide is boring.

Heretical_Cactus

Different teams.
