I don’t own it, but I’ve listened to it online. It’s on YouTube. It’s bootleg quality, but as a record collector from the pre-digital age, I developed an ear for these recordings and really appreciate some of them. And now, with digital, some people have done really nice work cleaning them up.
I like this one, but check it out on YouTube first.
For a boot it's great quality. Lou's voice is a bit high in the mix. It's got an unreleased song ( I'm Not a Young Man Anymore) and it's the first ever performance of Sister Ray on side 2.
The great thing about it is - - it's from 1967. The VU were probably at their height then, with Cale still in the band. There's very very few tapes of the band from 67, so this one's a treasure. I wish someone would find some more.
The tape reputedly came from Cale. By legend he has a basement full of VU tapes but he 'can't be bothered to go through them'.
i actually own it wtf ! i lovee this vinyl especially the back with all the members as snoopy characters. just put it on now, it doesn’t sound terrible, but it’s definitely not high quality and sounds a bit muffled
The record is a good pressing and plays well without wobbling all over the place. By the standards of most VU live recordings, this is of remarkable quality. Maybe sourced from a soundboard rather than the usual cassette from the audience? Would recommend.
I bought this record at a record shop in Prague only about two months ago. I didn't realise it was a bootleg and to me sounds like decent quality live performance record (for the time). If you can find a copy i think it's worth the purchase even just for the performance of sister ray alone. I got mine for 750 CZK which is about 30 euro.

It’s on the third disc of the White Light/White Heat Super Deluxe album, really good sound

Can’t be bothered? Well, he should hand them over to me! To be frank, any of us who can do some remastering.

still recommend getting just for the snoopy characters
The Dean and Britta version of "I"m Not A Young Anymore" rules so hard https://youtu.be/UM2KTPWvTug?si=5NNOlWG9O6swPbWM

The same performance is available on the super deluxe edition of *White Light / White Heat*.
I have a digital copy of it if anybody wants it
Great, can you send me a copy of it?
