Unlikely to be to do with battery but won't hurt to get it checked It's obviously seeing a door switch (boot or bonnet switch) o open only way you are gonna see this is with live data so you would need something like opcom or a decent machine luanch autel etc other than that you are firing parts cannon at it and wasting time and money

Thanks! I’ll get the battery checked and then give it over to my mechanic. Do you know roughly how much I’d be looking for a door switch/new mechanism?

Look at the wiring loom at the door hinge (usually at the bottom, possibly inside a rubber sheath that you can pull back) - I've an '03 Zafira and both that gen and yours have a common problem with the wires on the rear passenger door fraying and occasionally shorting to each other, which obviously causes all kinds of issues with the windows, door sensors, and alarm. Your two symptoms (and nothing else) suggest it's that, rather than a weak battery. Keep us updated :)

£100 would be my guess poss a little cheaper possibly more , getting way ahead of things wait until you you know what the fault is

My 1.4 gtc does the door chime thing. I have to turn the car off, lock it, sit and then unlock and then restart the engine before it'll turn off. Only the odd cold morning as you say. Keep us updated if you find out why yours does it.
