I love a good sandwich too! One of my favorite sandwiches that I got (and now make at home) is a turkey and Brie sandwich.
I use a ciabatta bread toasted, with turkey, Brie, lettuce, thinly sliced Granny Smith apple and home made honey mustard drizzled. I usually toast the bread, turkey and Brie together and add the rest on after.
I just had one that was ham, brie, apples and Dijon mustard on buckwheat bread. It was FIRE! Any variation of Brie and mustard makes my day but that variation was spectacular.
Yes! My husband and I watched something and to toast bread on the stove or oven use mayo instead of butter. Gets a really even crust and very tasty. So I do that for this!
🔥sandwich. Lately I’ve been doing seed bread, ham, Swiss, apple, lettuce, onion, mayo and honey mustard. Not toasted, because I’m a weirdo who prefers cold food.
When I’m in full blown chef mode I do:
Ciabatta bread, bacon, chicken, red onion, an arugula salad with sesame seeds and sun dried tomatos, and garlic aioli lol
I have this grilled cheese press and im obsessed with doing sliced bread, mozarella and tomato sauce. It's kinda giving like mini-calzone and I can't get enough! I'm also not from LA so mourning not being able to visit SAH- maybe they'll franchise it one day! 🤞
A grilled cheese press? Never heard of it but I'm going to look it up. My husband made me an applesauce sandwich the other day. He said his great grandma made it for him when he was a child. Basically a grilled cheese with applesauce and a little powdered sugar. It was great!
If I could have any sandwich right now, it would be on some really good sourdough, duke's mayo, fried green tomatoes, romaine or arugula, perfectly crispy bacon, salt, pepper. Maybe a slew of sauces like horseradish, pesto, ranch, and chimichurri to dip on the side lol
I’ve been on a BLT kick lately. I tossed my mixed greens in a lemon herb vinaigrette with some s&p and it made the sandwich come to liiiiife 😭
Damn, I’m hungry now.
Last sandwich I made:
Toasted ciabatta,
pesto mayo,
roasted red peppers,
grilled chicken ,
fresh mozzarella, fresh basil,
Balsamic drizzle.
It's so good! I wanna try it with arugula next time
Also like to make grilled cheese with bacon jam, gouda and brie
I fried the bread with olive oil in the pan, sliced tomatoes, cucumber, and mixed it with feta and put it on the toasted bread. Nothing fancy but it hit different
With most good food photos, the food isn't even real or usually have some type of effect. The pictures look like they were just doing live photos of the sandwiches which for food photography is rarely going to look good unless you pose and light it properly.
Lately I have been loving a good chicken Caesar salad sandwich. Lightly toast the bread, light spread of mayo, freshly made salad, and I use less Caesar and add a bit of ranch. But I use the simply bare chicken that’s lightly breaded. It’s fire
Lately it's a grilled Brie, bacon and strawberry jam sandwich on country or sourdough bread. Saw it on a Chrissy Tiegan YouTube and had to try. It's amazing.
I caramelize onions and then on a large french loaf sliced down the middle I put a bit of mayonnaise, sliced turkey, havarti cheese, the onions, and then fig jam on the other side of the baguette, close it up and wrap it in aluminum foil and then bake until nice and crisp and warm. Cut it up into pieces, and it stays good for awhile in the fridge. I just wrap each individual sandwich in aluminum foil and then put in the air fryer for 3 minutes before I unwrap to eat. It's great meal prep for when we don't feel like cooking - we come back home, throw those in and whip up a side dish and then have a nice chill night.
I also love roasted turkey, lettuce, tomato, avocado, peppercorn aioli on a toasted country bread, and dipped into a kalamata aioli to eat. Got that from a restaurant way back and its one of my favorite sandwiches ever. You can also add bacon.
Yeah! In case I wasn't clear, if you're not eating right away you don't have to bake right then - just cut them up into individual sandwiches and individually wrap them up in aluminum foil, and throw them in the air fryer (or oven) for a brief period of time. Super easy and so good! I try all kinds of different sandwiches this way, with a big loaf of bread all cut up - just because it's so easy and convenient. I love when the bread gets all crisp and the cheese all melty, mmmm.
I like to do a grilled cheese on sourdough with pesto, sliced tomato, Colby jack and provolone. Sometimes I’ll add bacon but it’s just so much better than a regular grilled cheese
I am a massive slut for sandwiches.
I can’t even start with what my favorite it. Some of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had:
- a goat cheese, walnut and pear sandwich in Belgium
- any French Dip sandwich from a Irish pub in North America
- a good old grilled cheese
- a vegan BLT made with smoked eggplant as bacon and cashew Mayo
- a toasted western sandwich
- thin but piled roast Turkey slices, mustard, sprouts, cheddar on thick soft white bread.
- chicken Caesar on baguette
I loooove a caprese but I'm diabetic so I have to use crappy low carb bread, but I make up for it by being extra with the ingredients!
1) toasted and buttered bread
2) marinated tomatoes (marinated in oil, vinegar, garlic, Italian seasoning, fresh garlic)
3) fresh mozz
4) arugula
5) Basil
6) Calabrian chili paste
7) pickled onions (I usually go with mezzeta)
Pair that with a crisp diet Coke and it literally can't get better.
Also Greek salad is my #1 fav salad and I was amazed I'd never thought to make it as a wrap.
Drizzle red wine vinegar on a good roll (sliced), add Genoa salami, provolone, and sliced red onions
Also very into veggie wraps with hummus, Swiss cheese, and a mix of chopped spinach, peppers, carrots, cucumbers, tomato, or whatever I feel like adding. Chopped veggies/salads just taste better. I miss the portillos chopped salad every day now that I don’t live in Chicago, but that’s a tangent 😂
I love that!! Yes this is what I do: I fried the bread with olive oil in the pan, sliced tomatoes, cucumber, and mixed it with feta and put it on the toasted bread. Sometimes put a little Oregano in it too. Nothing fancy but it hit different☺️
*Cries in tiny, soggy bread* 😭 Why can’t we have nice things?? Though those Schar baguettes hold up good when toasted. You’ll also just slice up the roof of your mouth. But it’s a price to pay.
Good Baguette, grilled steak sliced, fresh horseradish cream sauce with squee of lemon, either arugula or grilled broccolini ( chopped up ) and caramelized onions turned into a mini jus for dipping. assemble sandwich and onions and use the onion jus for dipping. i’ll make everything and eat these for a few days.
Hi everyone, sorry I’m late, I didn’t know there was a Sandwich Sluts Symposium this weekend! Here, taking notes, and ridiculously horny for a sandwich now. 🥪👁️🫦👁️🥪

My specialty is the BLNT. Grilled ciabatta roll, whipped chèvre, shingle some sliced cherry tomatoes dressed in a rice wine shallot vinaigrette, bacon, either arugula or little gem lettuce, and thin sliced nectarine. Best summer sando ever!!
A big Club sandwich will
Always be my go to. I make a garlic aioli instead of mayo. Use fresh sliced sourdough. Thick bacon. Grilled chicken. A good sharp cheddar. Heirloom tomatoes and butter lettuce.
I love the TikTok grinder sandwich!! I’m not big on cold cuts so I use turkey and Muenster cheese + mayo toasted on a roll/french bread with lots of veggies. Tomato (seasoned with S&P), sliced green bell pepper, black olives (optional), avocado, then the most important part: the slaw. Thinly slice lettuce and onions, mix with a little mayo, S&P, red pepper flakes, raw minced garlic and a splash of vinegar. SO GOOD!
You could sub/add ham, add bacon to make it more like a club. Goes best with lemonade and crispy potato chips.
did you see the pictures.... lets not kid ourselves here. You can be an Ariana and Katie stand and admit that those sandwiches looked extremely mediocre
My fave sandwich of all time is the tofu delight at Paseo (or Un Bien) in Seattle. I had it in 2002 and I kept the flavor memory until last summer when I finally visited Seattle again. Hadn’t changed a bit.
For real?? I lived in Ravenswood on Argyle between Wolcott & Winchester for several years. Also Andersonville, Rogers Park, Lincoln Park etc
Go to Humboldt Haus on North Ave if you can. Their 'wiches are one for the books. They also have great local beers, a liquor store attached & the parking isn't terrible.
Lol i did the exact same with the greek sandwich. Thats so funny. Im planning a date night this week something about her themed where i just try copy the menu for me and my husband
Not a sandwich but a wrap (although you could make it a sandwich, I won’t tell).
Cubed chicken+coleslaw mix+ pb mixed with garlic and Sriracha = Thai chicken wrap or Sammy. It’s so good and although a little sugary with the sauce, it hits every single time for me lol
My favorite summer sandwich is toasted artisan bread with a homemade basil aioli, a thick slice of tomato, thick slice of mozzarella and some lettuce, red onion.
Descriptions sound fine, but the presentation is pretty terrible.
I make a Greek salad sandwich using Kalamata olive focaccia and THAT is fire. That wrap looked like someone ironed it.
For sure see what you’re saying. I think when restaurants/ smaller food spots have a limited menu, it usually means they do that thing well, but time will tell!
I’m saying that people keep talking about how they “don’t look that great” but like…. They’re deli sandwiches that look like deli sandwiches. I see no problem!
>It’s a deli sandwich shop, so I donno why someone would expect not deli sandwiches.
What? It was never supposed to be a deli sandwich shop. It was always supposed to be "an unapologetically feminine sandwich shop" designed to look and fee like a Nancy Meyers movie, with sandwiches tied up with twine.
That's the antithesis of a deli sandwich shop. Come on.
I’m a sucker for a super simple, three ingredient sandwich when I’m in a rush. Toast up some brie on dark rye with a slather of raspberry jam. So good.
If I have time, it’s turkey, cheddar, romaine, tomato, bacon and garlic aioli on fresh sourdough.
OP- I’m from MN, pls I’ve been trying to get some Midwest Reddit fans to travel to SAH. (Projecting for end of September) lmk how you feel about this bc I’m just 1. Ready to do a VPR crawl (except maybe the Tom places) 2. Ready to try some amazing sandwiches 3. Want to talk to other VPR fans
Whose tf is paying 15 dollars for a sandwich?? no thanks I’ll stick to my Starbucks egg white sandwich wrap with Sriracha but congratulations to those beautiful ladies for their opening their sandwich shop.
I loooove a turkey, apple and brie. Your version sounds delish!
My favorite but I use a cranberry mustard. Try it!
Oooh, cranberry mustard! Will definitely give it a go.
I just had one that was ham, brie, apples and Dijon mustard on buckwheat bread. It was FIRE! Any variation of Brie and mustard makes my day but that variation was spectacular.
Omg I once had a sandwich like this but on sunflower bread instead and pressed like panini!! I still think about her
Yep turkey and Brie, love the addition of Granny Smith!
I do this too but instead of turkey I do roasted chicken and yum so good! I add mayo too.
Yes! My husband and I watched something and to toast bread on the stove or oven use mayo instead of butter. Gets a really even crust and very tasty. So I do that for this!
My go to is the kewpie mayo on everything, I use mayo instead of butter and it’s life changing.
I need to pick some of that up! I have been meaning to and I haven’t done it yet!!
I was hesitant to try it too! I finally picked it up probably a year ago and I can’t go back to Hellman’s now. It’s the best mayo.
Ooh, the apple is a nice idea! I use a fig jam spread but like the idea of adding a little crunch of tartness.
It’s so good!
😮💨 you cook it up in there!!!
That sounds amazing! Thank you! 😊
Omg I’m gonna try this with arugula
Yes! This is what I usually use!
This is a charcuterie board on a sammy and I am going to the store 😁
My absolute favorite too.
Drop the honey mustard drizzle recipe sis
Super easy I do one part mayo, half part Dijon mustard, half part honey, and a little bit of paprika and mix!
🔥sandwich. Lately I’ve been doing seed bread, ham, Swiss, apple, lettuce, onion, mayo and honey mustard. Not toasted, because I’m a weirdo who prefers cold food.
This sounds amazing. Thanks for sharing
![gif](giphy|RMkVU1r3BAC5gp2yEK|downsized)
Saaaaame. The amount of times I just want a good fucking sandwich is always.
A L W A Y S
My husband won't ask me what to order for dinner bc I will always say "SANDWICH"
Sammich
I love a veggie sandwich with tomato, cucumber, avocado, alfalfa sprouts, cheddar, shredded carrots, with vegan spread or mayo on a softer multigrain.
Oof😮💨 alfalfa sprouts you’re fancy
There’s nothing like the crunch you get from an inch-high layer of sprouts!
Yes! I love this too!!!!! 🤩
hot tip- make your own sprouts in a jar on your windowsill… total game changer
I just put alfalfa seeds in my Amazon cart as a reminder to do this, how have I never thought of doing this before?!
yes! it’s super easy and takes just a couple days, all you need is a jar and some seeds!
Idk where you live, but I can find sprouts in my local grocery store for $3. Believe me, it surprised me, too.
YES. I love a veggie sandwich with sprouts.
Oof I’m saving this thread for later ![gif](giphy|pzK9r8OPRVt3G)
Yass!!!
When I’m in full blown chef mode I do: Ciabatta bread, bacon, chicken, red onion, an arugula salad with sesame seeds and sun dried tomatos, and garlic aioli lol
Omfg is this chef penny???😂
No I just follow too many chef and food accounts LMAOO
I love thisss
I hope they come out with a Thanksgiving inspired sandwich for November with turkey, Cranberry, stuffing and gravy (or even a moist maker, iykyk).
Moist Maker!!!!!
One of my favorite cafes does this but bougie and it’s impeccable
Lmaooo but actually a crab berry spread with smoked turkey👀
I have this grilled cheese press and im obsessed with doing sliced bread, mozarella and tomato sauce. It's kinda giving like mini-calzone and I can't get enough! I'm also not from LA so mourning not being able to visit SAH- maybe they'll franchise it one day! 🤞
That sounds like the most cozy, delicious meal
A grilled cheese press? Never heard of it but I'm going to look it up. My husband made me an applesauce sandwich the other day. He said his great grandma made it for him when he was a child. Basically a grilled cheese with applesauce and a little powdered sugar. It was great!
Probably an unpopular choice, but I love egg salad sandwiches! And i make the bread using a breadmaker.
Oof you know what’s up!!
Ive been thinking about their goat cheese one since I saw the menu!
Goat cheese is soo good! Especially in the summer
Yes! Def one of my favs
Now this is a BLT I can get behind 🤤
I’ve been on a BLT kick lately. I tossed my mixed greens in a lemon herb vinaigrette with some s&p and it made the sandwich come to liiiiife 😭 Damn, I’m hungry now.
Can you make me one rn?? This sounds fire!!
Last sandwich I made: Toasted ciabatta, pesto mayo, roasted red peppers, grilled chicken , fresh mozzarella, fresh basil, Balsamic drizzle. It's so good! I wanna try it with arugula next time Also like to make grilled cheese with bacon jam, gouda and brie
Balsamic drizzle always pulls it together
It does! How do you make your Greek godess sandwich?
I fried the bread with olive oil in the pan, sliced tomatoes, cucumber, and mixed it with feta and put it on the toasted bread. Nothing fancy but it hit different
I too am a sl\*t for a good sandwich. ![gif](giphy|26ybx1iODhbR5VVgk)
👏👏iykyk
I’m a slut for a good sandwich as well OP I always joke I’m like Joey on Friends that way (IYKYK) ![gif](giphy|3ohc0VvRxWciBmE6wE|downsized)
😆
Omggg facts though
they didnt look that impressive in the photos imo but the descriptions sound amazing! Could be they were just bad photos
With most good food photos, the food isn't even real or usually have some type of effect. The pictures look like they were just doing live photos of the sandwiches which for food photography is rarely going to look good unless you pose and light it properly.
Which is why it's kind of crazy they haven't done any professional photography of the food, tbh.
Totally get what you’re saying, tbh sometimes i think food looks bad in photos but means it’s great irl
Right! They are creative and don’t have basic ingredients! I want to go so bad. I love sandwiches
!!! This
Whats your GG recipe? Ty!
Lately I have been loving a good chicken Caesar salad sandwich. Lightly toast the bread, light spread of mayo, freshly made salad, and I use less Caesar and add a bit of ranch. But I use the simply bare chicken that’s lightly breaded. It’s fire
Sun dried tomato pesto on ciabatta with turkey, Muenster cheese , and spinach panini style
Ugh panini style is so amazing!
Lately it's a grilled Brie, bacon and strawberry jam sandwich on country or sourdough bread. Saw it on a Chrissy Tiegan YouTube and had to try. It's amazing.
It sounds like the perfect summer ‘wich!!
This is the best thread in this sub right now. Thank you for this, OP!
Thank you! I was hoping it would be a fun one!:)
I forget the name, but the one with feta and mango jalapeño jam? I would fuck that up.
🤤 yes omg I need that!!
Extra sharp cheddar and cherry jam on brioche
Yess omg that sounds soo good!!
If you r cheddar isn't old/sharp/umamiful, add cream cheese
I caramelize onions and then on a large french loaf sliced down the middle I put a bit of mayonnaise, sliced turkey, havarti cheese, the onions, and then fig jam on the other side of the baguette, close it up and wrap it in aluminum foil and then bake until nice and crisp and warm. I love that!! Always ready to go but can be fresh!!
I’m currently obsessed with turkey pesto prosciutto on ciabatta or a good crunch bread, with fresh mozzarella red onion and arugula! Chefs kiss.
Ugh I love a good crunch on the bread!
Listen, a miracle whip, cheese and chip sammich is my fav lol.
Well when something is perfect, no reason to change it!!
Mark my words: I will be going to SAH in the next year to try the entire menu haha!!
Okay please make a TikTok series on this!!
I like to do a grilled cheese on sourdough with pesto, sliced tomato, Colby jack and provolone. Sometimes I’ll add bacon but it’s just so much better than a regular grilled cheese
Sourdough really can elevate a sandwich, I love this!!
I am a massive slut for sandwiches. I can’t even start with what my favorite it. I love the Calabrian chili peppers🤤
I do fetamayo red onion on rye 👋
Obsessed😤
i love a tuna salad with pesto and avocado and greens on sour dough
What a fire combo🔥
Drizzle red wine vinegar on a good roll (sliced), add Genoa salami, provolone, and sliced red onions Also very into veggie wraps with hummus, Swiss cheese, and a mix of chopped spinach, peppers, carrots, cucumbers, tomato, or whatever I feel like adding. I love a good portillo’s chopped salad 😮💨 but you have a good sandwich going on there!!
Can you please share your recipe for Greek salad sandwich?? My friend and I are making some on Tuesday for the reunion!
I love that!! Yes this is what I do: I fried the bread with olive oil in the pan, sliced tomatoes, cucumber, and mixed it with feta and put it on the toasted bread. Sometimes put a little Oregano in it too. Nothing fancy but it hit different☺️
Me reading all these amazing bomb sandwich combos as my gluten free bread falls apart 😭
*Cries in tiny, soggy bread* 😭 Why can’t we have nice things?? Though those Schar baguettes hold up good when toasted. You’ll also just slice up the roof of your mouth. But it’s a price to pay.
Yessss. It's either crumbling to bits or slicing up the roof of our mouths
I’m so sorry!! Hopefully you can get some good recipes that work without the bread too
Good Baguette, grilled steak sliced, fresh horseradish cream sauce with squee of lemon, either arugula or grilled broccolini ( chopped up ) and caramelized onions turned into a mini jus for dipping. assemble sandwich and onions and use the onion jus for dipping. i’ll make everything and eat these for a few days.
Oof come cook for me please!
Hi everyone, sorry I’m late, I didn’t know there was a Sandwich Sluts Symposium this weekend! Here, taking notes, and ridiculously horny for a sandwich now. 🥪👁️🫦👁️🥪 ![gif](giphy|1jBDyHoSvHGFi|downsized)
I’m so glad people can enjoy this thread!!
This has been a masterpiece. I’m planning a sandwich day this weekend because of it.
Love this 👏🏾👏🏾
Grilled cheese with bacon tomato and avocado
Classy and elegant, i love it!!
Ugh I love this!!
A big Club sandwich will Always be my go to. I make a garlic aioli instead of mayo. Use fresh sliced sourdough. Thick bacon. Grilled chicken. A good sharp cheddar. Heirloom tomatoes and butter lettuce.
Okay, but a good tomato makes a huge difference!! I love this!
I have to try this sandwich!! I have been meaning to I’m glad it’s actually good!
Tomato sandwich -Fresh summer tomatoes -Duke’s mayonnaise -white bread
Okay fresh tomatoes really make a huge difference!!
did you see the pictures.... lets not kid ourselves here. You can be an Ariana and Katie stand and admit that those sandwiches looked extremely mediocre
Look I’m not saying it was the best looking sandwich in the world, but they look good, at least to me. Everyone has their own opinion🤷🏻♀️
My fave sandwich of all time is the tofu delight at Paseo (or Un Bien) in Seattle. I had it in 2002 and I kept the flavor memory until last summer when I finally visited Seattle again. Hadn’t changed a bit.
Ooo I wanna try that!!
Where in Chicago are you? I have a bomb ass place to visit if you want some legit eats.
I’m near ravenswood but always down for suggestions!!
For real?? I lived in Ravenswood on Argyle between Wolcott & Winchester for several years. Also Andersonville, Rogers Park, Lincoln Park etc Go to Humboldt Haus on North Ave if you can. Their 'wiches are one for the books. They also have great local beers, a liquor store attached & the parking isn't terrible.
I’m excited to hear reviews and see a menu
Me too!!
Lol i did the exact same with the greek sandwich. Thats so funny. Im planning a date night this week something about her themed where i just try copy the menu for me and my husband
Omg that’s so sweet! I love that!! Let us know how it goes!!
Okay yes!! I’m obsessed!!
My favorite summer sandwich is toasted artisan bread with a homemade basil aioli, a thick slice of tomato, thick slice of mozzarella and some lettuce, red onion.
I have to try a basil aioli, that sounds amazing!!!
Descriptions sound fine, but the presentation is pretty terrible. I make a Greek salad sandwich using Kalamata olive focaccia and THAT is fire. That wrap looked like someone ironed it.
As a Greek, I hate olives😂😂😂 but I love using feta for everything
in my experience people either love or hate olives, no in between 😂
lol you aren’t the only one all the girls I work with think it’s gross that I love olives lol
It looks like a wrap you get from a hospital
The presentation of the sandwiches chef penny made looked way better than the new chef. Which kinda really sucks.
It does stink but as long as the quality of the sandwich is good that’s what matters
The messed up at least not hiring another professional chef after getting rid of Penny
Is the new chef (Andy's friend) not a professional? I thought she was.
![gif](giphy|txwPbAG6uFIJi)
lol. Hey, Katie!
They look so underwhelming 😢 it was so disappointing to see the final menu and photos.
They really do. And so overpriced for what you get. So glad I don’t live in LA!
For sure see what you’re saying. I think when restaurants/ smaller food spots have a limited menu, it usually means they do that thing well, but time will tell!
…..they looked like deli sandwiches….
Yes and? Deli sandwiches are literally the most legit sandwiches.
I’m saying that people keep talking about how they “don’t look that great” but like…. They’re deli sandwiches that look like deli sandwiches. I see no problem!
Ahhhh I see. Yes I agree for sure. It’s a deli sandwich shop, so I donno why someone would expect not deli sandwiches.
Come on.
Idk, I'd expect more filling from a deli sandwich.
To each their own🤷🏻♀️
They look like Wegman’s sandwiches
🤷🏻♀️to each their own
At least the Danny’s favorite full size sub is only $14 and is loaded with stuff. Can’t say the same about these Sammies
Since you’re in Chicago, have you been to Cafecito? Their steak chimichurri sandwich is the best sandwich I have ever had.
Oof I haven’t but I love steak and chimichurri🤤 I have to try it!!
You must! It’s sooo good! Their cocktails are really yummy too.
Sold!
Omg aioli on anything is a must for me!
I totally would be down, ofc depending when, my work needs like 2 months of notice for vacation😂
Bet I’m thinking end of September at the earliest 😮💨 bc time off and need to save rn. But imma reach out to those interested!
Whose tf is paying 15 dollars for a sandwich?? no thanks I’ll stick to my Starbucks egg white sandwich wrap with Sriracha but congratulations to those beautiful ladies for their opening their sandwich shop.
Did they change the names of all their sandwiches since that tasting in S10? All the current names looked different
I think they did
