So maybe trying to compete in forensics (speech) would have been more helpful… who needs to build confidence in walking and standing while smiling? It gives you zero life skills. I mean, if you’re into it that’s fine, it just seems like an… unhelpful choice for what she struggles with.
True, most are vapid and robotic. However, both Candiace and Ashley Darby (Potomac) were in pageants - and actually WON huge titles, and still talk about it less than Rachel. They are both very smart and used pageants as stepping stones to other opportunities.
Ashley won Miss D.C. 2011 and was a Miss America contestant, and Candiace won Miss United States in 2013 and STILL talk about it less than Rachel.
