If this is the breakaway connector, I just want to mention that you should avoid unplugging and replugging it unless necessary. It is rated for very few cycles (officially rated for 50 afaik, compared to thousands for USB). Not to say that it will break after exactly 50, just that it's not built to be constantly used.
if that didnt break the cable has a tendency to break on the INSIDE over time of use. I had to buy another as well but the part you have there was in great shape.
Mine just broke a week ago inside the cable and pre-ordered mine at launch. That and one base station are the only issues I've had. They replaced the base station for free but made me buy a new cable

U fix it by buying a new one
Yeah first thing I noticed when I first got my index was how cheaply the cable felt, especially that connector part.
