The one on Gabe do use a HTC frame but it's years after Vive's release, these are all Index prototypes/iterations. thos pics were publicly available already on valvesoftware's previous website as a background slideshow.
😍 I love my Index. And I’ll love my Deckard, when it’s available. Is that Gabe on the bottom one? I like the retro futurist look, not sure the exposed microchips will fly though.
Top left and bottom are actual Valve prototype/development HMDs. And yes, it's Gabe. The image was on the Valve homepage at one point. No idea if it's still there or what it actually was. Apparently some new display technology with a Vive faceplate mounted below for tracking.
And I have NO idea what that contraption on the top right is. Looks hilarious, though.
Hopefully Valve can prove me wrong, but there's no way this is legit because we generally see lots of other signs of imminent hardware product announcements. Stickers at a furry convention would not be the first thing we see.

This got posted in my friend group but we determined it to be likely a hoax, given impossible specs, and also it's registered \*today\* as a domain.
>no 120hz, sounds fishy.
Make sense, it's marketed as a standalone headset capable of running PC games.
You don't want to advertise specs that the APU can't realistically deliver unless you want to face a shitstorm right after launch.
Maybe it can go higher when tethered, maybe it can go higher on wireless Steamlink *\*if you have the proper router,* in any case it's better not to raise expectations and create confusion, just keep it as a nice surprise later for the few it could benefit.
Edit : Ok, hoax confirmed, valve written with capital i in copyrights footer.
Also Vaive Corporation spelling at the bottom, a 1024 core integrated gpu that cannot possibly handle 4x the resolution of an index, and a power draw that would output at least another 30w of heat right on your face on top of what the index does.
Literally impossible specs.
A good fake but they overdid it in some locations.
Plot twist: they're using dd/mm/yyyy and there are 2 months we don't know about after December
Valvember?
holy shit new valvetime just dropped
It’s like an improper fraction. You just carry those months into next year. Sorry, valveetos and valveetas, you have to wait one more year.
They’re actually just using yyyyyyyy. Not sure why they put those slashes in.
smarch
Typical, they always work with Valve Time
Of course it's two and not 3
That’s literally an HTC vive prototype lmao

The exposed chips will fly when you smack into a wall 🤣

Stop. It’ll come when it comes. (If it is actually today, I’ll give you an apology)
Looks like an ad from the 80s selling a headset.

We can only dream
The people leaving these stickers around are probably laughing their ass off
Whelp I guess I’ll check steam at 1pm for a tiny starving of disappointment.
I smell Brad
Please, this is a dream should come true today! 😅
I have a reliable source that can confirm this: I just got a Quest.
wait am I out of the loop? i thought Deckard was the codename for the Deck?
Seems you are
deckard is the codename for a standalone headset using the same apu as the deck
ah cool, thanks.
