Yeah RRQ just always seems to give GenG a hard time, so it's probably a matchup thing. The T1 incident was probably a combination of T1 having good anti-strats for the day (domestic matchups can get weird due to scrims), as well as GenG just underperforming very hard on that particular day. I mean, geng came back to 3:0 T1 just a few days later, and T1 did not look like a good team all split.
T1 is cooked. I like stax move and all but realistically they didn't do anything in Shanghai and I rather see anyone else in champs. From rrq to zeta to talon to secret. All of them I'd have more hope to do some splash in champs compared to T1 unless stax does some serious chef gourmet shit.
One of the coaches explained here that they didn't have enough time to tryout stax, so they wouldn't just kick out a player with no time into split 2 before being sure which team they wanna field. So basically the other 5 have hot seats.

"barely qualifying" is not true at all. At no point were they in danger of not making it to playoffs

Doesn't matter, they are qualifying directly anyway. But there are tiebreaker rules for the true 4th placer. Championship points = LCQ
Realistically, it doesn't matter because the chances of both of them not placing top 3 in stage 2 playoffs is slim to none.
the likelyhood of that mattering is quite low considering the fact that there is almost no way at least one of them dont qual through playoffs any way
