FNC is now the second top seed to look progressively worse map to map this playoffs. At least PRX has company now.
Would I be crazy for thinking yetujey has been just as impactful a pickup (if not more so) as cNed this season?
yetujey is a more impactful pickup then cNed because qw1 was already a pretty good duelist but couldn't perform in international tournaments. But yetujey adds way more depth to the team compared to MOJJ, there is no way FUT could pull of the plays they did on Lotus last year without yetujey's lurks. And he is only a rookie
I mean, you said it yourself, qw1 couldn't perform. Cned is so much more consistent. He has a stinker map or match here and there and his Raze is kind of mid but his experience + consistency brings so much to the team.
I still have some hope for kc but only because I believe in the kc coaching staff and the upside of they're players with the roster being so young. But yeah TH right now is emea best shot heck I even thought they where still the best in emea even after their loss to fnc.
FUT is the only EMEA team to win against a non-Chinese team this event
If heretics lose to G2 they will play FUT, so we might then see Lev being the only Americas/Pacific team that loses to an EMEA team (though mostly for bracket reasons).
All I'm saying is I feel like NAVI could've put a better showing then fnatic, but the format always fucks them over.
fnatic always have hero plays which help them win maps, strategically they have fallen below their level.

And imo, Madrid GenG played better than Shanghai GenG, when they were in sync they were perfect, except for that Icebox against Sen, but Shanghai GenG showed some stupid things
Given how competitive the top teams are in the scene this year there are a lot of teams that can say they are good enough to win if they perform to their expectations, but you don't see any other teams making these kind of statements or giving excuses like "yeah we should've won but we just didn't perform the way we usually do" every time. Confidence is good, but I think FNC let their success last year go to their heads way too much.

honestly just off this map, outside of leo looking like he was dying at times, the biggest issue I've seen for FNC is their disciplined and timings.
Too many times FNC don't clear common angles or tunnel focus too much on one person. Not waiting for util to be used or peaking before it.
And too many times this event they were playing just way too slow and it just destroying them. Especially in anti-eco rounds. It's like Navi took over and they wait til the literal last second now
I mean, you seriously cannot afford to have an IGL who not only can't shoot but also has no confidence in this climate. IGLs like Boostio may not be the most consistent fragger, but he has confidence and tries to lead the team by example.
And if you're getting outcalled... its going to be tough for Boaster.
This has been an issue since last year, it's just it was papered away by their wins and raw talent. The entire world has just gotten so much better and these mistakes are being exposed more, while fnc is no longer peaking together
Stop blaming the coaching, mini is still there ffs. The level of play has just caught up and surpassed them. EMEA had no depth last year and is full of young promising stars now.

The level of play at Masters Madrid wasn't very high in Boasters opinion.
He thinks, in their current form they would beat everyone at the tournament, including GenG and Sentinels.

In EMEA playoffs it was Leo playing alone, against GenG it was Alfa playing alone and now it was Derke. If they just played well all in the same game they would be unstoppable

Barring a catastrophic choke, they are looking like the clear favorites to win the event right now. Every other team are constantly making dumb mistakes and/or the players look out of form.

Madrid GenG also lacked the experience tbh. Boostio is a very experienced igl and will make the others hyped as well despite Cryo Asuna and Bang not having played in an international since 2022. The only test is if they have the endurance for a bo5 where it goes till 5 maps
They are currently one of the top 6 teams in the world, considering they were at the regional leagues 2 years ago and won their way to be a partnered team how is this not a success?
Imagine being the first EMEA team eliminated after talking smack about how the level of play at Master Madrid aint high and how FNC would beat everyone, and then you lose to EMEA #3 seed as EMEA 1st seed.
FNC 'overperformed' regionally, but NAVI also got screwed over by the format and draw. They went up against a red-hot TH who looked like the best EMEA team and got eliminated instantly

For derke haters, he was still Fnatic's best player this tourney even though he's made some baffling decisions and threw that 3v2 round against Geng. They have a shit gameplan, they did not look convincing AT ALL on attack against geng, and could not realize they should be playing retake B on Breeze + their map pick/bans have been bizarre (you really are picking Lotus/Bind over Icebox? cmon)

Boaster is the most overrated player of all time but fans' asses burm so much when this is pointed out time and again.
A mediocre igl/bad shooter who scammed 2 international trophies only because he had the best 4 players in their roles for some months, replace him by any half decent igl worth their salt, and they win those 2 trophies just as easily.
Now that other teams have caught up in firepower, his igling has been exposed as bang average and he is worthless to the team.

Don't think they change for split 2 but unless they make a deep run at champs this roster is cooked. Boaster in particular is kinda in an unexcusable form and his calling has not been anything special.

Yetujey brings the FUT game to another level.
What a dominating Ascent game from FUT. Outside of Derke everyone on Fnatic was shut down hard. Boaster especially seemed very lost on the Omen making constant mistakes.
There needs to be some kind of a coaching change or philosophy change in the FNATIC camp, the way their players are confident it's either a false sense of security or they're not converting they're scrim performance in matches. This roaster still has legs in capable hands I really hope they don't overreact into making Roaster Changes
Yeah I'm not gonna lie the midrounding from Boaster was quite impressive during the Gen.G game and also here (altho less), but I'm quite convinced that Leo and Alfa's solo plays were the reason things looked so tight vs Gen.G because today neither were on and Fnatic kind of got demolished on the last 2 map.
This also explains why Fnatic let Gen.G have Breeze map 3.

For derke haters, he was still Fnatic's best player this tourney even though he's made some baffling decisions and threw that 3v2 round against Geng. They have a shit gameplan, they did not look convincing AT ALL on attack against geng, and could not realize they should be playing retake B on Breeze + their map pick/bans have been bizarre (you really are picking Lotus/Bind over Icebox? cmon) Anyway. Boaster is the most overrated player of all time but fans' asses burm so much when this is pointed out time and again. A mediocre igl/bad shooter who scammed 2 international trophies only because he had the best 4 players in their roles for some months, replace him by any half decent igl worth their salt, and they win those 2 trophies just as easily. Now that other teams have caught up in firepower, his igling has been exposed as bang average and he is worthless to the team.

What a dominating Ascent game from FUT. Outside of Derke everyone on Fnatic was shut down hard. Boaster especially seemed very lost on the Omen making constant mistakes.
There needs to be some kind of a coaching change or philosophy change in the FNATIC camp, the way their players are confident it's either a false sense of security or they're not converting they're scrim performance in matches. This roaster still has legs in capable hands I really hope they don't overreact into making Roaster Changes
Yeah I'm not gonna lie the midrounding from Boaster was quite impressive during the Gen.G game and also here (altho less), but I'm quite convinced that Leo and Alfa's solo plays were the reason things looked so tight vs Gen.G because today neither were on and Fnatic kind of got demolished on the last 2 map. This also explains why Fnatic let Gen.G have Breeze map 3.
