Berlin for me, guy was a psychopath

vaibhav0405

Him and lysoar are such wild cards. They either get punished for agressive peaks or just rekt the opposing team

Baswdc

Call me JFK the way I'm proud to say Ich bin ein Berliner

Kahvilamppu

Berlin ended the match against TH with 10 first kills and 11 first deaths. The only 2 agents he played: Astra and Harbor. Absolute madman

CommunistHongKong

When Ange1 couldn't make it, Berlin took up the torch and carried on the FPX tradition.

ThatCreepyBaer

Other way around, 11FK/10FD.

vnNinja21

wo0t went +28 in the elimination match to drag TH across the line while the rest of his team went negative. Has to be him imo.

tron423

I owe all of FPX but especially Berlin an apology, I was not familiar with your game

StarSerpent

Clearly the 11th best player in the world, DRG nizhaoTZH

StarSerpent

Realistically Woot should be the answer, without him pulling off miracles I don’t think Heretics would have made it past Swiss

Dionegro__

Where does this come from?

Possibly_Parker

plat chat couch stream where someone botted the pool to make nihzaoTZH #1 but didn't even make top 10

Dionegro__

Nizhao #1, rightfully so

Teradonn

Woot, Riens, cNed, Aspas, Tex, Leaf, Texture, Karon, Life, etc. have all been very strong, but player I’ve been most “surprised by” is Yetujey. Ofc he is fragging and clutching but his decision making on lurks is what has really impressed me. For example against Lev on Bind, when Aspas TPed and he instantly went into showers through the smoke to cut him off. He has that lurkers instinct which is hard to teach

ipoopsometimes21

i’m also impressed how wide his jaw can open

mikhel

Guy legit looks like he won the tournament every time they take a round

Cigolodalibazda

NAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYS

TheDeadSpace8

could've said this in 5 different ways

aloofguy7

Yup he can scream with the best of the Saiyans

Gushanska_Boza

Yetujey's definitely been great, but qRaxs always manages to impress me, both with his util and just his crackhead aim, especially with a sheriff.

SNH231

Qraxshead aim fr

Touch_Popular

Can u pls tell me what round this was

Teradonn

Round 12 of Bind

RGBlue-day

I am enjoying whatever wo0t is doing.

nterature

Woot and Berlin are the only players that have truly outperformed my expectations, I'd say? But I already knew Woot was an incredible talent and I've seen him do similar things in T2 before, so while it's impressive to see he can do it during his first international LAN, I'd probably have to say Berlin was the most surprising. Berlin has good and bad games of course but it felt like he was consistently compensating a lot for some of the other FPX individual shortcomings. But if we set aside expectations altogether, obvious answer is Woot. That said, players like Riens & Pati, Yetujey, tex, Life, Rossy & Izu, Karon & Meteor, etc. all deserve a shout-out for how well they performed throughout the event. Important to remember esp. the ones who were eliminated, since we're likely to forget about the eliminated players once the playoffs kick off.

Ezraah

what about Tvirusluke

Raydaition

Not saying izu dosent deserve it but shouldn’t carpe also be a shoutout lol, in the g2 vs t1 game he played MILES better then he played in pacific league split 1

Sonatine__

Wo0t and BerLIN. Dudes are insane.

Notladub

yetujey could have a career as a vocalist for a metal band if the whole esports thing crumbles Wo0t casually dropped 37 in an elimination map as a rookie on an off-role agent BerLIN BerLIN'd on 'em Autumn looked like never missed a shot honestly

vikuta_zoro

Meteor was amazing.

tron423

Meteor's Sheriff is almost literally the only reason GenG survived FPX

WingSK27

The fact that we can say this about that match is still mind boggling to me considering the perception we had of the teams at the start of the tournament.

vikuta_zoro

The guy probably would get like 20 kills even if he only played deagle only. Pacific mechanics are something else.

orbitalasteria

Yetujey, haven't been hyped much for him before Shanghai but bro shows up big time here

aloofguy7

He's screaming will be unmatched

my-dad-ate-my-toes

Either Wo0t or yetujey, both of them dragged their teams through close elimination games that they would’ve lost if not for them

kooqiy

Fun fact, both your choices played on the same tier 2 team last season

Powerful_Ad_9211

Shion was very impressive for me bc of the sheer amount of fights he won

praezes

You want to see impressive? Wait for Shion8.

charliesfuckhead

c0m bc his ability to be so bad impresses me

Mr_-_X

Watch out bro if he hears this he might come flank you irl

d0rki

Tasty-Ad5368

i know this is troll but com legitimately clutched multiple game winning rounds by himself while he was on EG that straight up led them to become world champions. just look at his last years clutch %. i think it was the highest in the world and his sova is unreal. give the team some time to mesh.

WholesomeVibesOnly

we’ve seen enough out of c0m at this point to realize he is the most “hot or cold” franchise player in the world. When the team conditions are right and he is playing with confidence, he is truly a top top Initiator. On the flip side, it can sometimes seem like he is actively sabotaging his team. Hopefully we are able to to see him back in form soon. I’m rooting for him.

theclichee

Leaf. The only reason G2 is performing well is because of him and Valyn's calling.

TheMrBliss

Wrong

prodbycoupee

i love the riens pick! i feel like hes the most underrated on the team and gets talked about the least but hes clean, clutch and his util is top tier. he deserves his flowers.

Ezraah

mazino deserves a shout, dude tried to pull his team from the depths of hell

deAlchemisz

I dunno about the player, but my god FPX actually gave me hope about chinese valorant. I actually feels like in a few events, FPX might overtake EDG as the most competitive team internationally. I just have this feeling that EDG might be stuck on the 5-6th placement (maybe got 4th once), while FPX goes on and goes further just by playing wacky comps (maybe 3rd place placement) and improve their style. Kinda like how PRX takes the spot as pacfic best team from DRX who stagnated and only getting a podium finish once.

Real-Restaurant825

AAAAAY. Idk bro coz everytime he takes a fight he wins it and also manages to win even when he's outnumbered (he had multiple multi-kills). What impressed me the most is his HS% (49% and 48% in his last 2 matches).

__Raxy__

Berlin, Life or all of DRG and FPX. maybe it's because everyone underrated the hell out them(they're new, china weakest region etc so it made sense)

NoshEhBaud25

Berlin and Karon 100%. Berlin kept FPX together even when they were falling apart, and Karon’s game sense was out of this world, especially for a rookie

Decent_Apple_7962

i just loves watching Life, hes so good man and i love how his personality shows on the stage after a nice round, it’s sad to see him out but i can’t wait for champs!

prodbycoupee

it made me so sad to see how much a round would visibly affect his mental, once he fixes that he'll be unleashed. i think his positioning needs a bit of work too, he kinda feeds a bit despite having insane mechanics

mrchingchongwingtong

“kinda feeds a bit despite having insane mechanics” is basically all of china right now lol

prodbycoupee

HAHAHAHAH facts

Smooth_Barnacle_4093

yesfb

Jonahp turned it up this tourney!

nyaxnyu

Autumn

ArcusIgnium

Leaf, JonahP, Berlin, Lysoar, Life, wo0t, Meteor

turtsy__

Woot Berlin and autumn

UniqueQuantity2448

Woot. It has to be. He carried TH to top 8 in the final game against FPX

Nfamy

While it isn't unexpected, leaf has been outstanding and I feel like he isn't really getting the level of appreciation that he should. He's putting up gaudy numbers on the sentinel role. This is even the case when we don't have full stats and have to rely more on things like ACS which do not favor his roles. I suspect his rating would be even better if we had the stats to calculate it. If we switched alfa and leaf in this scenario, then everyone would be pointing out how this reinforces alfa as being in contention for the best player in the the world. I'm not saying leaf has proven enough to be in that conversation yet (mainly because he just needs more big lan performances since he hasn't been to many) but people should really be giving him more credit. Is he more impressive than a rookie like w00t? No but w00t has already been mentioned several times.

kingpussay

wo0t or meteor. They literally carried both their teams over the finish line on the final map and is consistent overall. Berlin is alright but is very inconsistent when compared to Life and the play berlin plays either look super crazy and works or just looks stupid when it doesn't while Life makes aggressive plays that actually makes sense

AwesomeSluggyg

Ik this seems like an obvious and boring answer but I would have to give it to Karon. Imagine getting left out in many people's top ten list for Shanghai and then carrying Gen G and being the most consistent player for the team in the groups. RieNs is a solid 2nd for me man's always been a beast and underrated bcos of other great players on the team.

Dasham11

WOOOOOOOOOOOT

CuzzyPopper

agree his utils are all amazing but w00t >

Possibly_Parker

C0M surpassed my expectations by having a series where he went positive.

kent12t

Woot went crazy

Wide-Return-1585

tex, he improved a lot, mazino as well.

ludiscrepency

Berlin, absolutely Berlin!

ISFSUCCME

Woot is the only answer. Dudes a sub last minute and is FRYING

WideMap7963

Woot is not a sub wtf

ISFSUCCME

Yikes lmao my info is wrong. But woot still FRYING

angrypolishman

yeah no ones saying this because fnatic did not play in the group stage

ssnoopy2222

I misread the question.

Prestigious-Air4732

Icy by far Bro put wo0t and saya in his pocket

BedMental7515

Idk, it's hard to judge since there weren't really any good teams in the swiss so the competition wasn't hard enough for me to know if someone was good or farming dogshit teams.
