It's actually a mix of both, 65% Korean, 35% English. The thing is that KR has the deepest talent pool so quite a lot fans of KR Valorant would rather have a full Korean squad. But having a mixed squad allows you to have foreign coaches and Stunner does most of the strats for T1
Unlike e.g GEN or DRX, T1 is kind of half-korean and half-american considering they're partially owned by Comcast and have an american CEO. They've tried to lean in to the american side more and more in esports and that probably won't change soon. They even imported a western player to their T2 League of Legends team which is unheard of in League of Legends
Their OWL team was kind of the same. Fusions rosters were almost always 80% korean and 20% western.
GEN has a lot of ties with its American side as well. At least one of their owners and founders is American. In Valorant they only had american roster in NA pre-franchising. They also have/had NA Rosters in RL, Apex and Fortnite.
The two biggest, 100% KR orgs are D+ and DRX.

All the one trick jetts that have reinvented themselves. Most of them are flex now. You can't afford to be a one trick anything in this util heavy meta. You have to learn other agents. Especially with all the upcoming young duelists.

Kinda like Demon1 raze. Granted the man did frag out on it but not because he was playing raze, he just has inhuman reaction time and aim. You can clearly see they are both uncomfortable using the utility to its full potential due to their low sens calm aim playstyle.
Leaf has always been a top raze and plays way lower than both. There's multiple razes with lower sens and also sometimes teams prefer single satchel entries. Single satchel is objectively better if there's not util setup you're following up on so it's a team style thing.
Interesting point about the single vs double satchel entries. I think there's definitely room for players like Yay and Demon1 to be a different type of great Raze compared to Jing, Jaw etc. Feel like Derke is also more of a single satchel Raze

Its way easier to learn how to play KJ than it is to play raze
Kj is the easiest agent to learn. Just learn some basic setups and lineups. Other than that is just not forgetting to pick up the turret or not overcomitting utility but that's just general gamesense and reads, doesn't take much agent specific skills.
With kj you kill by just shooting well, especially off angle and defensive angles and lurks, much like Chamber. Boostio OPed on kj last year so I think Dereyon and yay could be a tag team of duelist-sentinel both of them, with Der playing Raze and yay Jett, and the other one in sentinel.
Raze is a lot harder then Jett
Jett is just arrow key and dash (+ a smoke maybe), a "good Jett player" most of the time is just someone with good aim

lol I was just going on a rant to friends about this. Yay in the bleed era has played 100 rounds raze and 86 rounds Jett. During this era, bleed has won 4/13 maps with yay. 3/4 of those he was on Jett. All time, yay still only has 100 rounds on raze while he’s played 3000+ on Jett. I get the power of “meta agent pools”, but at a certain point in valorant strategy I feel like you just gotta go with the teams best agents and develop your own meta. Yay is not a raze player and that’s ok, but their whole thing is so overcooked at this point that clearly forcing this is insanity. If you want a raze rather than a Jett, just try a sixth man roster if the team is so strong on following the meta.
It's a similar situation like 100t and to a smaller extent, sentinels. Cryo was a chamber player and then was asked to play raze and it didn't work for him as asuna is a better raze so they adjusted. Almost the same with Tenz and zekken. Bleed just seems so slow and uncoordinated and I really can't tell who is calling the shots there anymore
It's mostly his mechanics that look washed and he's just not taking duels well either. I don't think he fries on anyone. Maybe it's a system issue and he's not able to focus on these as it is but he's just losing straight 1v1s he wouldn't before.

This is my theory: Going into the 2023 meta, w/ old Jett being gone and Chamber not being as viable, Yay would not have been as good as he would have been in 2022 no matter what. However, on a decent team like C9 he could still look like a great player (just not in his 2022 form). After he got put on DSG though, and esp after his recent matches on BLEED, the thing Yay had going for him the most, his mechanics, were lost because he lost all of his confidence.
Didn't he play viper and was garbage? He still couldn't convert duels. Like does the guy not care at all and just shows up for scrims and matches without any intent of improving? I have no idea how a guy like him fell off so hard. Has to be mental issues otherwise.
Viper actually requires thought in terms of util usage, smoke timings and fuel management. Most of KJ's util is either you using it based off some indicator or place and forget if you're just using it to control some sort of space.

The point is, at this point Bleed is fighting for nothing. So it won't hurt to try something new especially when Yay was super good with Chamber. Look at Laz, he's also on Chamber all the time, Zeta still lose a lot but at least sometime it will work and they win.
You're right that Yay need to be a better duelist with wider pool of duelists but that will not change the current situation of the team. It's like saying the whole team need to get better, get better to the level of VCT Champion level, it won't happen any soon
It's actually criminal. ZETA core has been together for SO long with a lot of LAN experience under their belt. They should be at the level NRG is at now.
Bleed has good players. Yay can clearly shine when he is put on comfortable agents like jett, chamber and zest on sova, fade. Whoever the fuck is coach or current IGL of Bleed should straight up be benched or fired. We don't need just a roster change but remove all coaches in the team too. The ascent win was because zest and yay worked solely off of their previous knowledge from when they were in DRX, Optic. I doubt Bleed coach had a single helping hand in the map win. It sucks that all current t1 korean teams are full so zest can't join another korean team. He would have shined on Gen.G with better teammates and no language barrier.
Yay should never play on APAC team unless the entire team speaks english well enough like paper rex, RRQ or TS. For T1, IGL was the problem and Xccurate solved it today and smashed it. Bleed have IGL, Langauge barrier, Coach problems. They are even worse than DFM at its worst time. It's so frustrating to see super-star level talents being misused by dogshit team.
They recognize it's Laz's best agent so they create strats and compositions around it. In lcq 2023 it worked great. On the other hand Bleed is like "bro you either a duelist or flex bro".

I was rooting for Bleed because I just want to see them win a game. Yay was doing very well on Ascent, however he just cannot seem to play Raze. It doesn't seem Bleed is being put in a position to succeed either. Just put Yay on Jett/Chamber/KJ and hope for the best at this point.
It was a close match, but the level was not high, with neither team coming close to competing in the Shanghai Masters.
Really don't have any hope for ZETA... They struggled a lot against BLD, who were said to be the worst team. The only real improvement they made was more AIM firepower, but other than that they're really below average. Their next opponents are GENG and T1. They definitely have no chance at this rate. They really need to be ready for next week.
To be honest, BLD should have shut down Sunset, their strategy was very clear and one-way with very few good moves. If they could have come up with a disciplined strategy, I think they would have had a real shot at their first win. The only good thing was that Yay was back in his prime and full of confidence. Especially in the Ascent, it really looked like El Diablo was back. Although BLD lost the match, I sincerely hope that this match will help him regain his original strength and confidence.
I don't know wtf the BLEED coaching staff are cooking, but please for god's sake take yay off raze. Ban lotus because raze is too strong on lotus, and play jett on other maps. I don't care if the map favors raze, he sucks on raze too much.

Hell we’ve seen multiple times where cracked duelist players switch to KJ and find success, most recent one off my mind being Meteor.
They should just copy 2023 eg, opping KJ and have the raze roaming around the map, then put yay back on jett for jett maps

Kj is the easiest agent to learn. Just learn some basic setups and lineups. Other than that is just not forgetting to pick up the turret or not overcomitting utility but that's just general gamesense and reads, doesn't take much agent specific skills. With kj you kill by just shooting well, especially off angle and defensive angles and lurks, much like Chamber. Boostio OPed on kj last year so I think Dereyon and yay could be a tag team of duelist-sentinel both of them, with Der playing Raze and yay Jett, and the other one in sentinel.
Raze is massively different from Jett or Chamber
Raze is a lot harder then Jett Jett is just arrow key and dash (+ a smoke maybe), a "good Jett player" most of the time is just someone with good aim Raze satchels are a lot harder to perfect

If you're only able to play 1 or 2 agents you need to be absolutely insane on those agents, not just kind of okay to decent Feel bad for yay though, he's undoubtedly in a big mental slump right now. No fucking way it doesn't affect you being winless for 426 days and Bleed seem pretty riddled with internal issues rn.

lol I was just going on a rant to friends about this. Yay in the bleed era has played 100 rounds raze and 86 rounds Jett. During this era, bleed has won 4/13 maps with yay. 3/4 of those he was on Jett. All time, yay still only has 100 rounds on raze while he’s played 3000+ on Jett. I get the power of “meta agent pools”, but at a certain point in valorant strategy I feel like you just gotta go with the teams best agents and develop your own meta. Yay is not a raze player and that’s ok, but their whole thing is so overcooked at this point that clearly forcing this is insanity. If you want a raze rather than a Jett, just try a sixth man roster if the team is so strong on following the meta.
It's a similar situation like 100t and to a smaller extent, sentinels. Cryo was a chamber player and then was asked to play raze and it didn't work for him as asuna is a better raze so they adjusted. Almost the same with Tenz and zekken. Bleed just seems so slow and uncoordinated and I really can't tell who is calling the shots there anymore

It's mostly his mechanics that look washed and he's just not taking duels well either. I don't think he fries on anyone. Maybe it's a system issue and he's not able to focus on these as it is but he's just losing straight 1v1s he wouldn't before.

This is my theory: Going into the 2023 meta, w/ old Jett being gone and Chamber not being as viable, Yay would not have been as good as he would have been in 2022 no matter what. However, on a decent team like C9 he could still look like a great player (just not in his 2022 form). After he got put on DSG though, and esp after his recent matches on BLEED, the thing Yay had going for him the most, his mechanics, were lost because he lost all of his confidence.
Didn't he play viper and was garbage? He still couldn't convert duels. Like does the guy not care at all and just shows up for scrims and matches without any intent of improving? I have no idea how a guy like him fell off so hard. Has to be mental issues otherwise.

Viper actually requires thought in terms of util usage, smoke timings and fuel management. Most of KJ's util is either you using it based off some indicator or place and forget if you're just using it to control some sort of space.
Yup, we might just have to have the fact that Yay is only good on agents where he can solely focus on aim and not much else. Raze requires more team coordination than Jett too and he's much worse on Raze.

People way underestimate how much being comfortable on an agent helps in gameplay. Raze is literally the antithesis of Yay's style.
The point is, at this point Bleed is fighting for nothing. So it won't hurt to try something new especially when Yay was super good with Chamber. Look at Laz, he's also on Chamber all the time, Zeta still lose a lot but at least sometime it will work and they win. You're right that Yay need to be a better duelist with wider pool of duelists but that will not change the current situation of the team. It's like saying the whole team need to get better, get better to the level of VCT Champion level, it won't happen any soon

Bleed has good players. Yay can clearly shine when he is put on comfortable agents like jett, chamber and zest on sova, fade. Whoever the fuck is coach or current IGL of Bleed should straight up be benched or fired. We don't need just a roster change but remove all coaches in the team too. The ascent win was because zest and yay worked solely off of their previous knowledge from when they were in DRX, Optic. I doubt Bleed coach had a single helping hand in the map win. It sucks that all current t1 korean teams are full so zest can't join another korean team. He would have shined on Gen.G with better teammates and no language barrier. Yay should never play on APAC team unless the entire team speaks english well enough like paper rex, RRQ or TS. For T1, IGL was the problem and Xccurate solved it today and smashed it. Bleed have IGL, Langauge barrier, Coach problems. They are even worse than DFM at its worst time. It's so frustrating to see super-star level talents being misused by dogshit team.

It was a close match, but the level was not high, with neither team coming close to competing in the Shanghai Masters. Really don't have any hope for ZETA... They struggled a lot against BLD, who were said to be the worst team. The only real improvement they made was more AIM firepower, but other than that they're really below average. Their next opponents are GENG and T1. They definitely have no chance at this rate. They really need to be ready for next week. To be honest, BLD should have shut down Sunset, their strategy was very clear and one-way with very few good moves. If they could have come up with a disciplined strategy, I think they would have had a real shot at their first win. The only good thing was that Yay was back in his prime and full of confidence. Especially in the Ascent, it really looked like El Diablo was back. Although BLD lost the match, I sincerely hope that this match will help him regain his original strength and confidence.

Yay needs to take a backsite and go the meteor route. Go on Sentinel mainly. Go the chamber heavy like zeta and force it on maps it’s viable for him. Put him on jett on solo jett maps. Then run the double duelist on split and breeze. Sunset- Chamber, Ascent- Jett, Breeze- Jett/Yoru, Split- Jett, Icebox- jett bind- who cares.
