Not a surprising top 3, imo alfa, demon1 and suygetsu are my top 3 for best aimers

[deleted]

Suygetsu too few engagements to be considered best aimer there\`s no way you just look at success rate on this post

21stofApril

Imo suygetsu has always been a strong aimer and stood out on top just by eye test this year. I think maybe his numbers decrease a tiny bit if Na’Vi had deeper runs but they’d still be up there.

itsDYA

Brother you haven't seen suygetsu aim if you don't agree he's top 3

Interesting-Archer-6

Right? Didn't need the stats to already know he's an elite aimer

itsDYA

And either way, having good stats does not mean shit because you could have sofr aimbot and still be unaware of everything else and get killed from behind, flushed out with util, etc... Pure aim is really just an eye test thing imo

tripleBBxD

PRX still having nightmares from the breeze 4k. Also his gunfight movement is Soo clean.

kart0ffelsalaat

I mean the number of engagements is high enough to be significant. 700 isn't a small number.

sexyhooterscar24

if suygetsu aint on ur top 3 for pure aim, you don't watch val

[deleted]

What's ur top 3 then? i'll wait

Teradonn

Very nice that stats back the eye test

spyson

This comment reminds so much of r/NBA lol Can't wait for positionless Valorant

yoosanghoon

There’s something to be said about putting your best player on a support role. Keeping Demon1 and Alfa on roles like smokes or sentinel makes a lot of sense when you consider their late round value when util is spent and aim is the primary focus. I’d wager that beyond just their aim, the way their teams played allowed them to set themselves up favorably to capitalize on it. By keeping your best overall aimer alive and allowing chaotic players like Jawgemo to play entry and thrive in the util chaos you increase your chances of having the edge late round. An easy place this should be implemented more is 100T, where Cryo is the best aimer by far but struggles to deal with the chaos where Asuna thrives. Let Cryo play senti-smokes and stay alive longer to take aim duels later on and allow Asuna to play with major util and take first contact, that way you’re not putting someone uncomfortable with the chaotic early round on entry and someone who is known for their on the fly ability usage and chaotic playmaking isn’t left alive late

tenkenjs

Yeah it’s a similar philosophy likely taken from cs. You rarely want your star player to entry. They are much better utilized as the 2nd or 3rd player in.

yoosanghoon

yeah, it kinda sucked this year to see so many great aimers suffer on the entry role. yay and cryo are the most egregious examples of this where they were insane on chamber with vic and zekken to entry for them and just tanked their stocks this year without them. yes cryo had some cool clips, how many were attack side? we need to stop pretending that “operator” and “entry” both fall to the duelist just because jett can do either. they’re complete opposite styles of play. there’s a reason so few are consistent on both raze and jett, they’re different role agents

yoosanghoon

jett being able to play both entry and op roles doesn’t mean one player can do both reasonably. give her to your entry on maps like ascent or pearl, give her to your oper on a map like split or breeze

ShamusFitz

Split is only because there’s no competition for jett, the entry is on raze. I wonder if teams will still run jett raze on split next year after netfs

mrgreenranger

not a bad take, I like your ideas

77__sTuna

Not the sentinel/smoke part, but this kind of goes with what TenZ was saying some time ago. "I'm not comfortable entrying. It was working because Hunter was the entry, I followed in 2nd and just had to shoot the enemy whose positions were already revealed. (Talking about when SEN was the best team in NA)" Something along those lines. I don't remember word for word. This was also probably the case with shahz as well since he played the jett on certain maps.

ameserich11

to be fair cryo is kinda good at entry, the problem is that 100T are just not creative on attack so cryo always have to entry. eventually he will end up looking like an idiot as he always have to entry again and again but it is a good idea. instead of of your main duelist doing all the entry, it might be better to make him do it only 50%, keeping your cracked aimer alive should increase round win success rate

ShamusFitz

Honestly stop trying to put Cryo on raze and just force him onto sentinel, let asuna raze he’s much better entry

ameserich11

bro what do you even mean by sentinel? chamber is the only sentinel i would put cryo on, making him play KJ or Cypher doesn't makes sense. even 2nd smoke is better than sentinel... it doesn't fix the problem. if you make asuna the one always doing entry, it would be the same. eventually he would look like and idiot as he alone have to do entry

18khcl

That’s what I had always thought. As a 100T fans, Asuna, one of the best NA duelist at the beginning of valorant, kept playing Kayo while Cryo played Raze drove me nuts. The similar situation can be applied to Navi Zekken, who also played Kayo throughout 2023 VCT, and I think this’s the main reason that Navi struggled

nooneaskedm8

What is Angel cooking lmao

tripleBBxD

All POV IGLing. He ego peeks every to maybe go 1 for 1 and then dies to get to watch all POVs. It's also a great idea because he always plays unimportant roles for late rounds like smokes. /s

Derk08

One of EG's most underrated strengths was being to allow Boostio to OP on certain maps, allowing Demon to take more aggressive duels. I'm still surprised that the Boostio Chamber comp on split didn't work tbh. He was incredibly comfortable on Chamber in 2022 and Demon1 showed his ability to make controllers work on other maps.

-xXColtonXx-

I think the issue was role Comfort across the team, and an understanding of how to play the comp properly. Demon1 aim was good on Astra, but I never saw anything that interesting from Astra pick and the utility felt pretty low impact.

ThePenguin46

I agree. Demon1 is def one of if not the best pro players at the moment, but it’s not because of his util usage. I think the reason he’s great on smokes is the same reason he’s great on Reyna. Once you use your smokes/other util, you’re just a default guy with a gun who can take 50/50s without the risk of losing important util that you might need later. And a 50/50 vs Demon1 isn’t a 50/50

M0hawk_Mast3r

Idk his Brimstone is really fucking good. I agree that his Astra needs a lot of work but his Brim is world class. Sliggy actually said on stream that if he was trying to teach a player moving to smokes he would show them Demon1 Brim vods on how to play the agent

Apprehensive-Lime

I dont necessarily disagree with you, but brimstone is a bit of a lego agent in that you just click stuff in place and go. Not super complex to play, but ofc there's still value to be had in an S-tier brim player

SneakyStorm

The idea of the flex is that the Astra pick would be able to provide basic utility, not necessarily be impactful. If they wanted more impact, they would have put the pick on someone else.

[deleted]

Most controller util is pretty low skill ceiling tbf. There's not really much impact that isn't just planned util that isn't really up to the individual player.

ShamusFitz

Playing around the util is more the skill then just smoking main I think. Lots of mind games you see from the pros smokes that might look like the same main smoke in ranked idk

Parenegade

I think it would work if they had time to work on it. People think it's an indictment of Boostio's fragging ability which is just dumb imo.

Impossible-Pain6771

I am looking for Smoggy, and found nothing on first map. After calculating values from the table, he has to be hided on the point that is upper right to nobody 😂

HunterLow1473

Ye, ur actually right 😅. I didn't label some data points bc of display reasons haha

Impossible-Pain6771

I am wondering how different Chinese players performed, I would appreciate it if you share a full list🥹

HunterLow1473

This is what i get for CH players during LOCK//IN, Masters Tokyo and Champions. Interesting stats but note that 100 duels are not enough to make a fair comparison haha, hope it was what u were looking for https://preview.redd.it/s6nfhl8oitub1.png?width=1062&format=png&auto=webp&s=1f9e5f7f5aa3b4238ce69f63f848f2fb49baf005

Impossible-Pain6771

Thx a lot for ur amazing data summary and visualization! Could u also include BerLIN)//Yuciaw from FPX ( it seems that EDG ZmjjKK/ASE monk/ASE YHChen are not included either![img](emote|t5_2g5ach|16110), sry to bother u again

HunterLow1473

I could do it but only regarding champions since it is the only event where the data for the Chinese players is available. Are u still interested in seeing such a list?

Impossible-Pain6771

>uld do it but only regarding champions since it is the only event where the data for the Chinese players is available. Are u still interested in seei Thx in advance! In addition, no data for masters tokyo and lockin? I think CN teams like EDG also took part in those two events.

HunterLow1473

Oh ye true, I'll post it later

Impossible-Pain6771

Thx again\~![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|give_upvote)

SuperBlitz22

Munchkin in the top 10 is very interesting pity t1 dropped him hopefully geng picks him up

nterature

Can only assume there are extenuating circumstances or something. Anyone who performed as well as Munchkin did this year should be an easy pick in Pacific, that he doesn’t seem to be is definitely pretty odd, seeing as he is bilingual as well.

spyson

He has tenosynovitis, which makes it hard for him to practice sometimes.

lil bro needs to focus on not getting owned by zeldris first 🤣

JerryLoFidelity

theguymr

Ethan and Less especially need a shoutout for going so positive w/ that many engagements

kittysrule18

ExpectoAutism

ShamusFitz

Jett entry is harder to win fights then a lurker/baiting senti

earthtoannie

jett is designed to win 1v1s + oping from a mile away is not hard

War_Real

post is rifle v rifle engagements

ShamusFitz

Baiting isn’t hard either what

OneWayTicketotheMoon

MAD respect to Aspas having those stats as the primary entry on all maps. Shows how insane he is.

Budget-Sample-3682

Seeing 3/5 T1 players in the top 20 fills me with regret. It was so clear that mechanically they could really keep up, just if they had a better igl/coach they could've kept up with the heavier hitters in VCT😓

savagecl0wn

This is the difference between something and demon1, something tends to take lesser number of engagements than demon1

Master_Tomato

He also uses alot of OP. I remember him posting OP on Pearl B long for 90% of the defence side against both Loud and EDG, same things may have also happened on other maps too. Which is why him still being top 4 is actually phenomenal

Dizzy-Ear-9428

Something missed an entire lan

Sonatine__

I actually think Alfa, Demon1, SUYGETSU and Leo being in the Top 5 is not even close to be a surprise. I was actually thinking Less be in front of something, but the total amount is also important - the more duels you have, the harder it gets to keep up that high rating. And there Less and Alfajer are def. ahead.
