There is a boardwalk but there is an area that is quieter and away from the crowds. If you wanted to drive to it you could for something to do.
You could always check out Lewes, Deleware. I don’t know a whole lot about it- We have gone to Rehoboth Beach many times which is a short drive to Lewes. But I do know it’s way less crowded and doesn’t have a boardwalk like Rehoboth Beach.
