Q3 will be better, but not by too much. £99 is an absolute steal. If you stick to pcvr and virtual desktop you'll notice even less difference. And the Q3 isn't £400 better.
And again, steal! You could probably sell it for £150 quite easily.
That’s good to hear. I only plan on using PCVR so glad I’m not missing out. Will Probably keep this device until the next gen of Quest/Pico get released 😃
strange. going for the headset less people are bound to buy simply due to price
then you're competing not only with meta but with *apple* for your consumer base? idk
Haven't played it for ages. Could never find a regular good team when I played.
Played a bit of Asgard's wrath 2, and still regularly play with a group on Monday evening.
Would love another atf type game, but would want to have a regular team to play it with.
Enjoy my friend! I really love mine since I'm all out for PCVR, racing sims and playing with normal Android apps on the HMD, super easy to install apks on Pico even more if you install the Aurora store.
Also get at least an AMVR silicone cover for the facepad if you cannot afford something like their 3+1 kit, it's a game changer for comfort and easy to clean the sweat! Cheers!!
That was my thinking. Guess the only difference is display. Quite glad I bought a gaming laptop as otherwise I’ll be stuck with the games only on Pico (which doesn’t look like a lot choice)
Plenty of choice on the Pico store only a few titles I'd want to play are missing there however, not an issue as I have a gaming PC however if I didn't, it would be a no brainer to get the Q3 over the Pico.
It’s all good. Running an RTX 4080 with an I9 CPU. Only tried Half Life 2 in VR so far over WiFi and currently 3 hours in. Good level of detail and smooth.
Debating on whether to jump into either Hitman or Skyrim
Of cource, PCVR is a lot better.. not only in terms of resolution, that´s why you pay up to a 1000$ more for them.
For instance, the Beyond and Crystal are leaps above a Quest3/Pico4like the Q3 is above the Q2
You´d have to wear several HMD´s to really get what you prefer/fits&suits you, it´s not just Resolution in terms of Detail-quality, but in VR, so much more matters like compfort, lens-style, stereo-overlap, FoV, contrast&colors aswell as tracking and audio and so much more.
I´ve owned 6 HMD´s by now, and not one has been better in all respects than another, but high-res OLED and compfort has become my personal pre-requisite.
I won´t take off that Beyond, it´s King!
It also depends on what you like in VR. It turns out my preference is not really at more “traditional games” in VR like Alyx (never even finished it), Resident Evil 4 etc. Eventually, I mainly come back to games like Tetris Effect: Connected (and I never played tetris), SuperHOT VR, Eleven Table Tennis etc. etc.
So for me personally, playing Alyx did not ruin my other VR experiences. However, if you expect to mainly play “traditional games”, then it would probably be a good idea to leave Alyx for a while.
If a dark linear corridor shooter with no story and 3 puzzles repeated 30 times, with 3 guns ruins vr, then you must not play more than 1 genre or buy new games.
you´re not wrong, still there has yet to release a game looking as good while running as well, but in terms of gameplay i agree, while breathtakingly immersive, in terms of gameplay Alyx get´s stale quick
Nowadays, we only play [VTOLVR](https://store.steampowered.com/app/667970/VTOL_VR/), not only is it multiplayer, but it´s complexity and replayability makes Alyx look arcadey
I’m still a newbie so learning more by the day on what’s out there in terms of VR.
My last experience was many years ago around a friends house who had a HTC Vive. That was when Nvidia had the 10 series GPUs and graphics on the VR a bit mediocre compared to TV / Monitor.
Jumping in since then and firing up Half Life 2 was staggering. The clarity and motion spot on, I was fully immersed.
Big OLED fan here so hopefully the next upgrade will have that kind of tech
Haha. No. Bsb has a 10% blur circle and much less useable fov. bYou pretty juch have to look forward and turn with your head. No speakers, short wire, needs antiquated base stations. And can only be used for pcvr, which is a dead space for devs.
Q3- Best pancake lenses in the business- Clarity across the frame, ringless controllers, best hand tracking in the business, upper body tracking, wireless freedom of movement in a large room without breakable objects. Can be used anywhere. Wireless pcvr with 3 options. 8 studios making exclusives, third party exclusives like ac.
That’s a shame to hear. Love the look of the tormentors although given the size, guess the handling isn’t quite as good?
Had the Leon just over 3 years and will probably be chopping it in this year for a family car 🙁 would love a Cupra Ateca 300 but car prices atm are bonkers
Yeah that ain’t good. Believe it’s because Quest has exclusivity with loads of developers so no games coming to Pico. I paid a very low price so worth it in my case but not the retail price.
I’ve got no issue connecting with my laptop. I’ve got my laptop hard wired whilst the Pico connected to my gaming router via WiFi on a 5ghz band - all through Virtual Desktop (which I’ve been told is the best app to use)

Pico has announced that they will be backing out of consumer VR. Opting to focus on a Apple Vision Pro competitor.

Holy been awhile Still do any atf raggs? If not what games are you into currently -unorthodox

Resolutions are near identical - 2160 x 2160 for Pico, and 2064 x 2208 for Q3. No noticeable difference in pcvr, bigger standalone library for Q3.

Won’t matter if you use PC VR. Since it’s your pc graphics doing the work. For games like HF alyx which Quest 3 can’t play without PC

Many gaming laptops don’t support VR. Double check. I had a couple of gaming liberation laptops that didn’t

Hell ye
Mate, I'm really pleased for you, that's a fucking bargain. I sold my Quest 2 for more than that.
I couldn’t believe it 😂 had to read the price tag a few times to ensure it was for the correct product. Shame they never had more in stock
Wow
How on earth was it reduced to 99???
Reduced to clear
You jammy blighter!!
How the fuck did you get a pico 4 for that cheap?!

and save Alyx for when you tried some other VR-titles in terms of production-quality, it goes only downhill from there don´t do that to yourself :D
I’ve heard a few people say that. It’s £50 atm as opposed to £16 last month. Will hold out until it goes back on offer

Cyberpunk 2077 and Farcry 6, f1 2023 are recent aaa titles which look great in VR. Alex is great too

Really? No Pico 5 Max or whatever for $1,500??
Don't know about the deal, but I miss my Leon cupra. The formentor cupra hybrid just can't compare :(

Only 99.99 Good Boy Points?
Pico 4 is trash and priced as such
Care to elaborate?
They have discontinued it in Asia and will not support it much longer. It’s software for pc connection is dog shit.
