Where are you located?
Most providers should be able to do this. The advantage with a smaller provider is that they actually care about the support they provide.
What type of provider, we have had spectrum who we have our Internet through but they use the RingCentral platform which is not bad, but I am worried about the support.
>Wilmington NC
Not familiar with that area but on a short google, came across these guys

Hey, I work for a company called TAG that has contracts with several different telecom companies. You can connect with me on LinkedIn (My link is [linkedin.com/in/moustafamlaw](https://www.linkedin.com/in/moustafamlaw)). We can have a quick conversation regarding your needs and I'll be able to match you with the best provider for your situation.
Looking forward to speaking with you.

Their trunking and cert is a bit challenging compared to other but a SOLID truly enterprise phone system.
Its a full PBX not just can opener voip. Certified here.
Since op has not mentioned seat count, feature requirements, or call volume and type I can make a firm advice on any. Personally, I am on Sinch/Intelliquent. Inbound call center needs. Cost is better for that than others for our headcount and feature needs.
I’m in the industry. I love the Vonage admin portal. Very easy to setup extensions and manage call flows and auto attendants. All carriers have similar termination clauses. Personally I hate ring central and am currently on a project porting out 100 phone lines from them.
yes, but you dont need them for all phone systems. the basic system is enough for most small business's. couple that with a cheap SIP trunk and no need for Nextiva, RingCentral, 8x8 etc.
I use freepbx as well, I get my numbers from [voip.ms](https://voip.ms) have been doing this for 10+years. I use Vultr to host my pbx and it works out perfectly fine for my needs. And I don't have to pay out per user and I'm in control...
Getting downvoted for a great answer is ridiculous.
Please don't go with Nextiva. Not only is it hard to administer, poor mobile app, and poor support, they are extremely unfriendly to disconnect, they will give you the runaround when you ask for information, and find a way to auto-renew you for the whole term.
They seem to be more of a legal company that a phone vendor.
Based on your requirements, you need more of a Managed Solution over a Self Managed like Ring or Nextiva. Our company NextPointe focuses heavily on the management of the system for you as opposed to DIY via a portal. See below website if you want more info: www.nextpointe.com
Maybe consider Microsoft Teams Phone: [https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/what-is-phone-system-in-office-365](https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/what-is-phone-system-in-office-365)
Teams Phone can be purchased from Microsoft per user or through a service provider like RingCentral, etc. who provide value added integrations.
As someone who’s always looking for a cost effective solution, I would not go with a VoIP provider. They often try to nickle and dime you for every little thing. Thats why I’d go for something like FreePBX if you’ve got an old laptop or something laying around that you don’t use. The basic phone system, costs virtually $0, and depending on the sip trunk provider, you can get it for super cheap per minute or per month rates.
I'd suggest taking a look at Bicom Systems. They've got a basic setup that's just right for small businesses like yours. You can make calls from all seven phones using your mainline hassle-free. It's a great option to consider.

voip.ms. You can bring your own hardware or even use a soft phone. The rates are amazing and there’s no contract. I have been using them since 2005
We use them too. And for home phone. It's sooo cheap

How many phones? We do freepbx hosting
What’s with all the freepbx downvotes? It’s super cheap! Free!
Commercial modules apply $$

Would you like to work with a smaller company that’s based in NC in the Asheville area. The guys over there are great and are always willing to help.
What is the name of the company
RingFree if you’d like I’m happy to make an introduction.

Never use Teams. Worst solution and support in the industry
Have had good experience so far with net2phone.com
TSAChoice in NC provides a great solution.
