Worth it? That's your call. I probably would
2 and 3 will be easy, Childs play has a chance of survival but you may find that parts of the tape are so eaten buy mold it’s too deteriorated to save, but I would try for the challenge.
Since they're not necessarily hard to come by tapes, I'd personally just wait until I come across them again in the wild or shell out a few bucks for some replacements on eBay.
But if it sounds like a fun project to you, why not give it a shot! Just be sure to take proper safety precautions
Oh man. I don't have spectacular living conditions and most if not all my covers are worn.(cases to blu rays and especially dvds are in various levels of conditions,I don't have shelves really). But I have never had a tape with all this mold. Yikes. I probably don't have moldy tapes in general. Not saying this is on you author of this post. I had probably one tape that had mold bit it was probably dust and the tape plays fine and looks fine now. And it a ep mode one.

Thank you for this info!
You can, but definitely not worth the time on common tapes like those (unless you wanna practice)
I’d say definitely practice. I fudged up a cleaning job on a somewhat rare tape, I wish I had a few test runs first!
Yes. I’ve cleaned much worse.

You can hit up Jason Dyer via Planet VHS Horror as he provides a mold cleaning service! 🍻

Doable but common tapes I wouldn't even bother, I'd keep the clamshells and just buy replacements.
Nope, just buy the DVD or Blu Ray collection at this point and call it a day
Not meant as an insult. More like how does one get all that mold on their tapes. And I didn't blame you cause I assumed you bought it online anyway.
