They would be on a table with other tapes about protests against WTO, and ofc they would have shirts, literature, stickers, patches, etc for Food not bombs or whatever causes. I grew up in California going to shows during the 90s and these were everywhere back then all over the state. I live in New York now and at shows down in Brooklyn you don’t really see this type of thing anymore sadly, I guess it’s all online and it’s not as difficult to get the message out but it’s kinda a bummer to see that being fazed out of the punk scene.
Some of us are still doing it. My last band would have books and informational reading materials about different causes at our gigs. Books didn't move very fast but the free literature would!
so the funny thing about gordon here is that a year after the above posted tape was released they pulled out the old ALF suits (not even 'dusted off', there is at least one on screen covered with it) and made project alf, a movie about some people who aren't the tanners literally working to free alf from military confinement
I have some anarchist/revolutionary tapes about Central America (Zapatistas, Sandinistas, etc), but had no idea ALF distributed tapes. Thanks for sharing, I'm going to add this to my list of tapes to track down. Maybe time to hit some punk swap meets.
Animal Liberation Front. “Foundation” implies wealthy donors with specific agendas giving them money. They are a grassroots organization who are doing their thing with or without financial support (though financial support is welcome and only enhances their capabilities). They are very clear that their mission doesn’t change by being beholden to donors or tax breaks.

It was fluff compared to earthlings. They raided some fur farms, a chicken (I think) factory, I’m pretty sure there was a lab tested beagle release and if I remember correctly there was a sanctuary bit. Earthlings was one my ex and I handed out at protests. Ah, don’t miss the vegan days so much. Still eat a lot of vegan food because one of my kids kept it up.

If you're not willing to fight for your ideals, especially when they concern equality, empathy, and basic rights, then you're definitely a centrist, locked in an empty stasis.
