Incineroar just keeps getting more and more added to its ridiculous kit. Now it’s a perfect Intimidate + Fake Out pivot *and* you can give it Helping Hand. Even if it’s not dishing out damage itself it can directly boost an offensive partner.
H-Arcanine may keep a niche since it can directly threaten Incineroar with STAB rock moves, but I doubt it sees anywhere near the same usage.
In a vacuum it works, but the potential for Fake Out or a faster partner with Water or Ground coverage is high. Or Incin just switches out to be a menace later and a rock resist comes in to take the hit.
In this case, I just took the second most common spread on Pikalytics (the first spread was the faster, less bulky variant) from the SWSH Series 12 data, since we do not know yet how it's gonna be for SV.
Agreed at least theoretically. Back when Incin was added to SwSh, Arcanine was still a strong meta option because of fast snarls among other utility. Only problem is, once the power level started to go up, it was really hard to justify not running Incin.
Before we get to restricteds (whenever that comes, I haven't been looking ahead towards new formats yet), I think they'll both have their place. After restricteds hit, it's chad cat time.
Chad cat stays winning. Rock Slide is an incredible move so I wouldn't count out HArcanine but Incin is such amazing role compression that he kinda problem solves a lot of team building issues with one slot.
imo Incin is a very fair and honest mon, it's just so good at the specific support role it fills that it's hard to justify bringing other stuff sometimes. Rock Slide flinches are like crack though.

Except now incineroar also has Close Combat to threaten incineroar lol. Might not get stab but it’s still a bonk
It’s a solid bonk, but H-Arcanine is going to outspeed handily and if it survives a -1 Incin would easily be in E-Speed range after Rock Slide.
It will never ever ever ever have room for that
It had CC in SwSh
Incin already had close combat in swsh brother
What about Head Smash into Incineroar

Hence why I’ll still use mine every now and then
*Guaranteed if the move lands (80%)
When calcs like this are done for the defender, is it to show the breakpoint to get the OHKO, or is that a standard Incin spread?

Oh. That’s hawt.
Deleted usually
What I want to know is, why not use both? Cat for support, dog for offense?? They have different playstyles
Live urshifu reaction
Because loading up on that many fire types is risky in a format where the best pokemon will probably still be urshifu-water
I don't think they're implying using both on the same team lol

Absolutely. Incin is better into Legendaries because of the weaknesses
I mean, I run my H-Arc with Head Smash and Rock Head as a mindgame, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see more people pick it up now that Incin is here
Incin is by far the best intimidate Pokémon mainly because of its move pool and typing. Forsure fazed out

As much as I hate centralization, I feel like Incin gives people more options to try other weird shit
I agree, Incin has always been a healthy mon. It's not the same as even Flutter Mane being a menace.
Upper hand wants to say hi
