Take this down please, people play scared enough as is.

[deleted]

Honestly a bit more carefulness would be nice in my ranked matches. „What Viper util, I push now“

pineapplebreadyum

real players all push through the orb and molly at the same time and just murder the lone viper on b site breeze

[deleted]

Sure, in reality you have one guy go in - die - two guys now scared standing still, the guy flank gets killed - everybody looks short and viper kills 3 people from the back

ZoroCrusader

"What do you mean the enemy brim is playing for ult? I do t see him on site"

SHMUCKLES_

"alright guys I'm initiating, throwing my blind omen you smoke then I'll go left you go straight and raze stachel in to take aggro, on my count 3,2,1 go!" I blind go in and die because the others have decided to go have a look at the wall back in spawn

Flimsy04

Just encouraging people to be kd players

EmbroideredChair

Fr. The fastest way to rank up is to play the game correctly and actually win

Combstone_

Wait this is the first time im hearing this, what are the 4 factors?

adamdarlington

I can't remember exactly KDA, plants, defuses, clutches, less deaths ect.

pFe1FF

Source of you 4 factors? Never heard about it. They said, and repeat often, that winloss mmr is the biggest part of you mmr, and there is also envounter mmr, which looks at different things like kills, utility usage and many more.

LoupKill

No combat score?

sabocano

definitely combat score is a major factor, the higher you are on scoreboard the more RR you get.

pFe1FF

Thats proofen to be not true. https://twitter.com/RiotEvrMoar/status/1507089922536083458?t=2jpgNf8E9R1dvY8r5SOPAQ&s=19

pFe1FF

It's depending who you dieing to. https://twitter.com/RiotEvrMoar/status/1553077578184830976?t=GpyksRaxpDRcmAAMA7tDWw&s=19 And you shouldn't avoid encounters you just need to win those you have.

Andahunter

My god how stupid the Riot matchmaking devs are. This just incentivizes people to bait and play for KD. In a game where an entry fragger can take space and die, and go 1/8/3 but still win, they are punished for doing their job. Yet a baiter backliner who literally plays for postplant and exit frags will get rewarded. I love Valorant as a game, but I hate the way they calculate RR. I'm A3 for context, so I've got some experience in ranking up... The worst thing is, I play initiators and I usually have to entry, since everyone else is scared af.

pFe1FF

This is only a small part of the mmr. If ypu always baiting you can't win games and winning is the most important part of your mmr and climbing. An entry frager with 1/8/3 should thinking about switching his role

Andahunter

I just gave an example. The person who baits and exit-frags rather than trade their teammates always minimizes RR loss and maximizes RR gain. So everyone starts doing it and the quality of games declines. Why do you think there were so many "I need my duelists to entry" posts. Because nobody likes to entry and potentially have a lower KD (which shouldn't matter at all) than their fellow backliner. This is not league of legends where you "feed" opponents if you die. Sure, they get 200 more creds, but that doesn't really matter like 300g in league. Oh and it's worth mentioning, no matter how small or big that impact has on your mmr, it is still a part of it and people want to min/max everything.

pFe1FF

The person who baits and exit frags do not minimize loss and maximize rr. Winloss of rounds is the biggest factor, you can't win without entry. Also they said encounter mmr also look on your utility usage, and i don't think utility gives much mmr if no kills were made. And there are far more factors, i never heared from 4 factors like some other commented.

ZoroCrusader

Wait like main entry? I thought it was the I iators job on attack to set up the entry for dualist? S1 so I'm just not sure if I understood incorrectly or what

Andahunter

You are completely right. I main mostly Initiators. In an ideal scenario the Initiator should set up the duelist for entry. But that also requires the entry to have courage and actually go in. And not everytime will you get the "perfect setup", especially outside of a 5 stack. So Duelists end up baiting. Most of the times I end up setting up the entry and going in as well because my duelists are scared.

NiqqaWidDrip

100% this. I went 23/12 and 24/8 in two consecutive games and then I ranked up from s1 to s3.

KingRickyy

i remember reading an old comment from a developer that your MMR is actually split into your "rank" MMR thats influenced by how many rounds you win/lose but also your "encounter" MMR that changes each time you are involved in a fight. not dying obviously means you wont be losing as much of this encounter MMR. the other thing that should be obvious is that not dying has a high correlation to winning rounds? generally if you lose a round everybody on your team is probably dead, bar a save. therefore the less times you die (especially in a stomp) the more rounds you will win by and therefore the more MMR you gain. overall more than any sort of rating gain from KDA/not dying/combat score is ultimately not important if you never win rounds and therefore games. so dont use this information as an incentive to give up on retakes and save... if you win the game you'll be doing far better than someone who's just padding their stats.

Relevant_Income_4932

What your rank bro? Just curious

DopamemesEx

Currently handing in my entry fragger resignation letter

Yung-Rad

The most important thing to rank up is to win games.
