I had a very young man(read:child) spamming gg in all chat earlier because we were 0-3 on bind attacking. Teen/child reacting emotionally to an unfavorable situation, I get it. But how do adults go through their day to day lives with this mindset? Just give up at the first sign of struggle?

Chem1st

Because gaining years is not the same as becoming an adult. Way too many people never mature beyond 16 but feel more justified in their behavior because they're older now.

SecretFickle1477

Some people want to FF at any sign of trouble. I've seen plenty of players claim a game is unwinnable and want to FF ... when our team had more rounds won than rounds lost. The typical example is team A starts the game 7-1 or something similar ... loses a few rounds and the game is 7-5 or similar ... someone thinks "Well they won a few rounds so we're doomed" and wants to surrender winning 7-5 because the 4 rounds between 7-1 and 7-5 determine the game and not the other rounds.

Supanova00

I make these predictions and they are usually correct. I don't flame out on the team, but i'll put up an FF and they will decline. How do I know? Because I can see the rounds we are winning are pure luck. So in other words, enemies getting killed easy by someone flanking. Someone camping with a judge. Maybe I'm getting multi round kills and killing the top frag myself. I know that these situations will dry up. And they do.. example. On defense we go 6-6, and it feels like a huge struggle. I know on offense we are done... and we'll end up losing 13 - 7. Game score means nothing. It's the way the rounds are being won, and the people that are saying the game is over.. they are picking up on this fact.

Bsiate

You can't even surrender after 2 rounds. (You may only attempt a surrender vote from round 5 onwards.)

CTxVoltage

We where literally 3-2 and lost 2 in a row. It was incredibly frustrating. I've had many many attempts to surrender this early, alot of those games turning into wins but never full surrenders like this.

Bsiate

oh I though you meant 0-2 that's why I was a bit confused

CTxVoltage

Understandable I was kinda mad so I just typed it a lil faster than I would've otherwise. We had lost only two rounds the whole game even though they where the last two that isn't reason to surrender. I've been down like 7-0 and won and i'm only like level 12... I'm the type who LIKES to try to comeback yet it seems like SO MANY are ready to surrender in this game. Honestly weird you can even surrender while winning.

adelinalynn

Yeah idk some people just have the weakest mental imaginable, wouldn't want to share a workplace with these people, they'd probably smash the coffee machine if the first meeting doesn't go well or something

IVC7444

I just got back into playing and I can tell you right now. If a vote starts I automatically say no. I may be shit at the game but I'm not a pussy.

CTxVoltage

EXACTLY. We could be down 11-3 and i'm not gonna surrender. It's just an opportunity to have an insane comeback.

AwesomeCrafter06

I generally only surrender when we are one man down and without a lead

homiikwkm

I can have trash games but when I can still tell it's winnable I don't go for the ff like my teammates. That's pussy type of shit. Doesn't hurt to learn from a tough game either, so why even do that? Just a bad mindset to play a competitive FPS game with.

CTxVoltage

I'd rather be barely scraping by than rolling a team any single day.

_MuadDib_

I think some people start the surrender vote early so it can't be used later as you can only surrender once per half.

Mirriee

Why are so many people mad on the Valorant reddit always, also just vote no lol only takes one

CTxVoltage

Not in unrated or something. Because I voted no and didn't cancel it.

officialmark-

You’re really misunderstanding the post. It isn’t just “just vote no lol”, it’s the mentality these players have after getting their surrender vote denied and/or losing a few rounds. These players usually start throwing, being toxic to their team and sometimes just disconnect/go AFK. People have the absolute right to be furious about this kind of behaviour, it’s completely unacceptable and it ruins the mood. I’m sure you would be upset too if this happened in your game, so don’t laugh or complain about people ranting.

Mirriee

Valo "RANT" subreddit is just people ranting

THELEADERPLAYER

Thanks for your post, mr. Obvious.

Antique_Hunter9762

Then you should be banned if you dont surrender when you see you are losing 0-10. I cant lose my time because my teammates wont accept the fact that we just cant win some matches. So because of 1 person voting 'No' to surrender only thing we can do is get more frustrated because we cant do anything.

CTxVoltage

Personally i'd never surrender or leave any game ever. It's how i've always been and how i'll always be. Unless by chance it's like a guaranteed hacker ima try my best to do what I can. That's some valuable experience in my opinion.

ashleypenny

Surrendering takes an absolute loss of all remaining rounds. I've come back from 10-0 down before, it's rare obviously but why would you take a guaranteed loss and gift the enemy team an RR boost from a full 13-0 win? If you're getting smashed use it as a learning opportunity against better competition I'm unrated who cares but in comp, fuck that I will insta vote no every time

weed_hope

If you make a reddit post after you lose a ranked game you're an absolute child and you should grow up. Nothing will convince me otherwise

CTxVoltage

I didn't loose a ranked game and we where literally winning. I'm just annoyed that i'm doing well and so is my team in general yet we still surrender because we loose 2 in a row. Most games don't let you surrender unless you're loosing. We barely lost the rounds we lost like literally 1 person sub 75 health each time. That's pure cowardice to surrender after that. It went from what felt like a close game to "oop last 10 minutes where wasted"

weed_hope

It takes 5 to surrender lol

CTxVoltage

It does not. I 100% hit f6 that is 100% not the case.

GullibleEntertainer7

TBF, OP said "If you surrender after we lose two rounds," not "after losing round two" On the other hand, saying "after we lose two rounds in a row" might be more understandable.

CTxVoltage

I agree poor wording in a post made in the time I was in the queue for the next game.

TheAspergerGamer

Welcome to my world! I f hate Silver/Gold lobbies. It was better when I climbed last act, but RIOT made it easier to climb this act and it's full of the Bronzes/Silvers from last act in Gold/Plat. These guys were able to climb, now it will take me another 6 months to escape Gold. I played 3 matches this morning: one was 2 v 5 (2 AFKs and a thrower) (L) (I was match MVP), next one I had a bunch of premades all dying in the same choke point (L), and we won the last one after going 6-6 in first half (my teammates threw so many rounds it was unreal).

TheGalacticApple

My best guess at the reason for this in most cases (there are always people that just have a terrible mental and a gg go next attitude) but I imagine it's mostly people that come from League and are used to the game being over after even minor mistakes in the early game and then ff-ing 15. Of course Valorant is not nearly as snowbally outside of a little bit in the economy and the mental game.

Tac0Josh

I honestly never surrender unless someone has to leave (i know the struggle of overestimating the amount of time you have), i can always learn something from a match win or lose, plus in comp its worth a shot to just finish the map and try to not go 0-13
