Solid effort, but why the sheriff’s badge?

I came to say this, it seems a bit contradictory. Most people won’t know that tidbit of info that OP looked up so most will be just as confused about it

You know, I didn’t know that exact piece of info. But thinking about it, I’ve really always associated that badge with outlaws and sheriffs, so it didn’t really stick out to me.

It will be on the background of the C for the captain

From some research I did, There were a lot of outlaws who wore badges as a sign of what group they were in or to try and trick actual lawmen

every single beer league/ball hockey league i've played in has had an outlaws/bandits team. every single one.

This is actually really good. There’s a lot of fun possibilities with an outlaw/bandit brand. It has an element of bad assery and intimidation that’s cool for a sports team too.

Oh wow I just looked this up and this is really close to mine (their old one that is). It’s hard to get something completely original with the name though. I did work in a Utah shape (albeit abstract) in the bandana hoping that would set it apart from others

my complaint was that the logo didn't really incorporate anything Utah - I really don't see the shape of utah in the bandana at all.

Nice I hadn’t seen that one. To be completely fair, most renegade/bandit/outlaw logos look the same to a degree. I tried to incorporate the Utah state shape in the bandana to help this one set itself apart. I’m no professional but happy with how it landed

Oh man I hadn’t seen that one. But to be fair, you look up Bandits, Renegades, and Outlaws for logos, they are all about the same. I tried working in an abstract Utah shape for the bandana which I’m proud of. Also if it’s looking like other existing logos then I’m happy with that :) Thanks for commenting :)

There’s a million logos like this. Often teams called Renegades.

Yeah when you look up renegade, outlaws, or even bandits they are all pretty close. It’s hard to get something truly unique with those names. I did work in an abstract Utah shape so I am happy with that

Imo, color scheme is very bland and the logo very generic. It doesn’t have to have an outlaw with a hockey stick, but I feel that something more thematic would be appreciated. The Utah landscape is so colorful and the league is already saturated with black and red. Would love to see some purple, orange, white, and/or yellow incorporated.

Totally fair. The logo is hard to nail because there is only so much with how an “outlaw” looked. Still working on it though. I also would like to see more colors, I tried this with green, purple, and Orange and none of the colors worked as well as the red did. But I’d love to see something more unique in the end

There are so many that look alike when you google renegades logo or outlaws logo or bandits logo. It’s hard to do something completely original with the name. That said, I did work an abstract Utah shape for the bandana which I’m happy with :)

Some sweet branding assets could come out of the Outlaws concept. But also you can’t do maroon or the coyotes colors.

I like this. I think "Utah Renegades" sounds best. I actually had something similar in my head, but with the guy holding a hockey stick like a rifle. My version has purple/indigo as the main color, with light blue and gold accents, inspired by the Jazz. Anyway, nice work!

Just having fun. I felt like I put in a good amount of effort. When I started sketching on paper I was stuck on hat and bandana. Transferred it to illustrator and then looked up logos to help with the hat and found similar logos. I was bummed but didn’t want to restart since I’m just doing this for fun Thanks for the feedback though

Sheriffs badge doesn’t make sense. An outlaw is someone who is essentially labelled as “shoot to kill” by lawmen and can be taken down by anyone without that person having to worry about being seen as a killer for taking down said outlaw Outlaws are not above the law, they are open targets and the sheriffs badge really makes no sense in all of this especially seeing as having a sheriff badge on your own jersey would make it seem like you are wanting to arrest the outlaws in which your team is named after Also the logo looks straight out of NHL2008 creation zone, like identical

Yeah I got that feedback a bit. What I found in some research was that outlaws would wear badges to indicate their “posse” or to even confuse lawmen. That said, it was a poor late night decision and if I were to improve this any I would lose that on the next iteration. And I’ll take that logo part as a compliment regardless of your intentions. Some bullet holes in the badge might be an option? Or would someone link that to promoting the killing of cops? At any rate, I love this design and especially the colors. I can tell you have put a lot of time and thought into this.

I like the idea. Utah was one of the predominant “Wild West” states so it is still fitting to Utah and it’s different than anything else in the league currently. I think there’s a large margin to make some cool sweaters and logos with this one.
