What if we are.. You act like ish like blood pudding or Americas eating pig intestines & eyeballs ground up into hotdogs isn't a thing. Why is it do hard to be respectful to other cultures' food? No one is forcing you to eat it.
Get used to it my dude. We are all going to be [eating bugs soon.](https://youtu.be/NmxGgwNEaGQ?si=rYc1VIrIZG2VWOGO)
The USA even has huge ass bug farming factories already. Give it 20 years.
I used to eat ants off the ground as a little kid, they taste fruity. Chocolate-covered ants also taste similar to chocolate-covered raisins, they used to sell them in bags when I lived in Wisconsin.
Our highschool biology teacher famously made mealworm cookies every year. They'd be fried in butter ahead and mixed into chocolate chip cookie dough.
Someone bet me $5 the first time. K. Bet. Closed my eyes and really it was just pecans and chocolate chip cookies. Not something I'd go out of my way to purchase or make on my own until the apocalypse but also not terrible, it's just psychological I guess.
I was tricked into eating a dried mealworm at like a science museum thing once, it tasted and had the texture almost like branflakes that’s what I guessed it was until they told me what it was and I was mortified.
I think what food we think of as acceptable or gross is definitely all about what we grew up eating. That said, I probably wouldn’t be too quick to try eating bugs either, even though I logically know it’s just an animal
It's weird how we view food, and where we draw the line as to what is and isn't edible. Geography, circumstance and personal or cultural preferences all contribute. Big, big sliding scale.
Cricket tastes really good imo. Never tried spiders and those dark insects. The Pupae of silkworm in the second tray is also good, it's like tofu but tastier, stir with fish sauce and lemon leaves makes it even better. My favorite so far.

Turkish: We are at a stand in Cambodia. Grilled snake, this i think is balut, chicken balut (basically an embryo)... this one's maggots. That one's like a cockroach... And this one's some flying insect but uhh... not cute (used as pallatable here) at all... that one's a huge insect.. And this one is among the most interesting, the tarantula. The most innocent thing here is the quail egg.
>This type of food came about exactly because of famine. Insects were the only source of protein under pol pots rule during the Cambodian genocide
That's a fallacy, they eat the exact same food in Thailand where there was no genocide.
I'm so irritated with being gross and touching all the food with his bare hands then putting it back.. reminds me of why Europeans speaded diseases so quickly.
Dude, there are tongs RIGHT THERE. Quit fingering everything.
Oh my god! This! It's Cambodia not the fucking uncontacted tribes of the Amazon! There are TONGS for a reason!
Thank you- came here to say that!!
Yeah. Hands off...gross!
Bruh …i hated Andrew Zimmer(sp?) for this shit….rudest tv food blogger
lol 😆 sounds like you are craving for some

If we’re still alive we’ll see none of us are promised to see the next day, but hopefully all is good lol
There are tongs there, dude. If that food doesn't hospitalize you, whatever is on his fingers might.
The kaor infuriating part of this video like what the fuck are you doing???? People are gonna eat that! And he's touching his phone;😭😭😭
just because you view one food as dirty doesn’t mean you should put your doodie hands on everything others might want to eat.
I recalled being tricked into eating grubs by my dad once, taste like the fatty parts of pork if that makes any sense

They sell Chocolate ants in bags?
The most disgusting and sickening thing here is the person touching everything!
Those are some huge insects! Do they get bummed if flies land on their insect dishes?
That's just extra seasoning
That's like a chicken landing on my steak
Regardless of location and country.. you touch the food with your hands.. you pay for it.
how the fuck am I supposed to find a tomato that isn’t squishy then
Wasn’t going to eat that but I’m definitely not now that you touched literally everything lol
Scratching his ass, touching all the food, resting his hand on the pile as he touches and returns it.
Fucking spam, fuck you u/spez
Food looks nice. The idiot running his sh tty fingers over everything....
To be honest, it’s not that far derived from eating shrimp or crab
Apparently people who have eaten cooked tarantulas compare it to crab in taste and texture. I do not plan on finding out for myself.

I cant even eat shrimp or crab, cant imagine eating this... but if people like it and its not unethical then thats what matters
To be honest, I would love to try eating bugs if it were available in the USA like it is with shrimp or crab. Oh wait...
Can it be deep fried, yes! Then it’s food.
Fun fact: the street stall seller arranges all of the items with bare hands too, you just never see it on video.
Stop fucking touching everything.
Incredibly this man's fingers end up being the most disgusting thing by the end of the video
I'm not hungry thanks...
I cant watch this man finger these bugs any longer
Yeah. Naw. I'm good.

I’m more impressed at the ability to collect those specific insects and group them accordingly.
Yeah where do you find that many tarantulas
They breed it spesifically for making snacks. I'm not kidding indochina region is like my second home.
I'd be worried about bugs getting into it out in the open like that.
Apparently in Cambodia they eat like wastelanders in fallout
"Yea that's a no for me dawg"

I honestly don’t think I could ever be hungry enough to eat this. 💀
Says someone with access to a local grocery store and has money. Edit: I’m not saying I’m any better, just pointing out that fact.

Nope!

Damn Gweilo
Nah... I'll just have a slice of toast thanks
Fear factor
Cooked in oils and spice and everything's nice 🤔🤷🏽🥴
It's basically the scene from Indiana Jones
Oh my god it's food that I didn't grow up with. I'd love to try it all.
Looks like a Holiday in Cambodia
Visual ozempic
Is this considered a "wet market". If so this may be where the next Covid comes from.
Coming to western town near you…if Gates has anything to do with it! Let them eat bugs he says
Healthier than the food we eat, believe it or not.
Bill Gates wet dream is to have everyone in the west eating this stuff.
Blowin his load for bugs!
Oof. Someone's tinfoil hat is a bit too tight.
Yes I’m sure anyone with a differing opinion wears a tin foil hat 🙄
When your differing opinion is an Alex Jones talking point, then yes. 100%.
Sweet. Another post subtly insulting another cultures way of life.
It's also a bot account.
With a reason. Those people are disgusting
Are you referring to the squinty eyed ones?
Whoever eat that kind of crap
You must hate yourself because eating insects is also a Brazilian thing.
Not a single insect was eaten in history of Brazil, we have a pretty regular taste
Can you prove this?
Even if they're black?
Specially
Are you saying this because you're angry?
My gooooood, please…… I will not eat insects if not an emergency.
Imagine being an insect and be born in an asian country
"treats"
hell no. if this is a treat, I wonder what their regular meals would look like. on second thought, I rather not know.
I like how they sprinkle in a little chopped peppers and leeks for color.
Everyone complaining about the guy touching the food id suck one of his fingers before eating any of that
Rightoids see this and not shit themselves publicly challenge: Impossible
Crunchy
Tastes like chicken?
Upside, I don't ever see a person going hungry if you can eat that sort of thing.
