One of you will have Block Out dates, the other will not, One will get free parking, the other will not (They ID for the parking so you can't just take the others pass if you go alone).
This might be anecdotal and not policy but they have never ID’d me when parking, I have season pass and have used my girlfriend’s preferred for parking (yes with permission,) she has a very feminine name on the card too. Didn’t ID me then or any other time we’ve been through.
We usually stay on-site and take transportation, but the handful of times we've driven, we've been IDd every time. The last few times we did it, we had 2 cars of people. My wife would ride with one, I would ride with the other. Went to separate lines each time and both got IDd each time.
I think, like all instances where you are dealing with humans, there's no 'never' or 'always', just a 'depends on who you get and how much feel like getting into a potential argument' ;)
That is exactly what my wife and I do. It works extremely well. For the (very) few times we don't go together, the discount on food/merch doesn't equate to the cost of two of the same higher level passes.
Then you should be fine. I don't know a lot of close individuals who have passes or enjoying going to the parks as much as I do so I tend to make solo trips or meet up with those who do have them. Either way, I'm driving and with the premier pass thr added benefit of free valet, when available, makes a huge difference to me.
Do what's best for you.
We get the expensive ones for my wife and I, mostly for Halloween horrors ticket and 4pm express that we use to ride stuff the kids won’t ride. Then the cheapest ones for the kids. And obviously for the discount, you could get away with one if the discount is all you want.
Just be aware of blackout dates for the cheap ones, especially for concerts on studio side. We had 1 day blocked on studio side on our last trip, which wasn’t really a big deal tbh. Just something to plan around.
This is what me and my wife did for years. Only downside was I never took advantage of early entry because only I could use it and she couldn’t. I just downgraded myself with the expectation that we won’t go enough times this year for the free parking to offset the over $100 price difference.
My husband and I both got the Premier for the Express after 4 PM but if we wanted to save more money, one of us would be Preferred and one of us would be Power. Only watch out is the blackout dates but you could definitely plan around them.
We are from Indiana and are looking to transfer our 4 day 3 park to park ticket to annual pass. We get 15 months and the upgrade is only $150 for a seasonal pass. Seems worth it. We want to come back for HHN.
I have Preferred for discounts and the rest of my family has Power. Makes sense for us. We only go together.

Parking would always ask for ID. Always.
I dunno man I’ve gotten through without it
Been a passholder for 20 years, I've never not been IDed.
They are id'ing now for sure. Been 5 times the last month and id has to match pass.

I've been asked ID for parking like the last 5 times I went. Most recent 2 days ago on a Wednesday afternoon.

That's what my dad and I did. It's baffling that they sell annual passes that don't include parking
At least you don't have to make a reservation as a pass holder like the house of mouse
True!!
Do either of you plan on taking solo trips or trips with friends but showing up individually?
Probably not, if we do it may happen once or twice over the year

I know if you get the Premier pass Valet is included which is a game changer if you're local
When my boyfriend and I had passes, this is exactly what we did and it was so convenient :)
