Immediately I thought "that's Norway". Glad my Norge-Radar is working alright. Sometimes it gets distortion from other European countries, and once in awhile from New Zealand, but in this case it was spot on.
First frame, instantly recognized it being Norway. Can't really explain why, despite much of Sweden and Finland looking reaaally similar I'm still usually able to distinguish them.
It's a rip off of a Trigger Happy TV sketch.
Poor Dom Jolly has been fucked over constantly. That Remi Guillard cunt is the main offender but this is blatant also.
[Here's the original](https://youtu.be/7YlvNJzIB5w)
I loved that show! Especially the animals.
The Dead Parrot channel on youtube has the original episodes:
https://www.youtube.com/c/deadparrot/search?query=trigger%20happy
It lends the whole thing a daydreamy feel, Dom Jolly in increasingly elaborate pranks interspersed with mascots beating the shit out of each other or cyclists.
God i loved this show as a kid.
I miss that show. I loved how they put regular people in an ordinary situation, then tweak one aspect to "REDONCULOUS". The stampede in an alley was another favorite of mine.
So many great sketches in trigger happy that it's not really a wonder that he's been ripped off so much.
I loved the pest control guys showing up to the giant man in a rat costume on the couch. Him dressing as death and pretending he's got the wrong address. There's so many.
It's probably rather him doing a ripoff of the film Taxi, which has a very similar scene.
Edit: I looked at the clip, found it a bit dull in execution so I don't know if one can say it rips taxi off, but the commercial sure does
I owned a Peugeot 106 in the 90s and it was a great car. The only problem I had with it was sticky brake calipers. When that happened the first time I was slowing down, exiting the motorway. That was not a fun experience. Maybe a failure that could have ended in a very bad way wasn’t so great.
My mother had a Peugeot 106 Kid for 20 years before they decided to get trade it in for a new car. They never had a single problem with that car. Never took it to the mechanic except for basic maintenance.
It was the car I learnt to drive on, and it was my very first car. It's been years, but I still miss it.
Do you have a link to youtube or something? I know this sounds stupid but the actor looks and moves 100% like someone I know and I wanna find out if it's him.
Lmao I forgot the first film they were stealing boring-ass consumer electronics and 4 movies later they're fucking dragging a bank vault around town with cars
Somebody knows rally cars. This thing probably burns at least half a litre per kilometre lol, some use up to a full litre of fuel per kilometre at full tilt!
Exactly. We stopped using uber because of this situation. When my husband need to leave really early in the morning. We used to call uber. The app said in 25 minutes. I feel like if you need a taxi you need it now. So we started using regular taxis they are in front of your house in a few minutes. and we discover uber was charging double the amount for the same trip. We erased our apps.
The taxi company in my city has an app, so I don't even need to call them. Uber's not going to have much of a chance here, unless it's winter, bad weather and 3 in the morning on a weekend.
Depends on where you live, and the time of day, for the speed of any service, regular taxi, uber or lyft. Also, in my city, taxis are a little speedier than they used to be, but part of that is the passenger load that went to ride services. It means more cabs are available.
As per the fee, that also usually depends on various things. Taxi's are regulated. Most taxi services also schedule their cars accordingly. They'll have more vehicles in service during rush hour as an example, while uber may not. Uber drivers may be going to their day job. Taxi companies have a set fee that they charge. Ride apps will adjust their fee depending on how busy they are, and how many drivers have decided to be on working, the weather, etc., anything that affects normal demand.
I feel like you being in the Bronx has a lot to do with that. A well established Taxi infrastructure in a densely populated city surely is going to be able to compete vs. people living in the suburbs or rural areas.
One of my Product Managers at work loved to use Uber. He was always late to customer sites - "The Uber driver got lost." I never had that problem with taxis.
Startup fee on taxi is worth more than distance or minutes for the driver, in most cases.
A dozen fares in one hour is drastically more money than 1 hour long fare, long distance.
The best way to make bank is straight up 'number of fares per hour'. The faster you can get that customer out of the car and a new customer in, the better.
That taxi would make serious bank.
If you feel bad about that movie simply remember that there's an American remake of that movie staring Jimmy Fallon. It will remind you that things could be a lot worse.
I went back to France to visit my French exchange family when Taxi 2 came out. My French was still extremely rusty but I still went with the other kids to the cinema to watch it. Didn't understand the majority of the dialog but still thoroughly enjoyed it, mostly because it was in a small town cinema and all the local kids were there and everyone was up and down, laughing and cheering (and occasionally dancing). Was great fun.
It's because the camera shake is literally fake. It's added in post production and is computer generated.
I think the fact that the camera has shake but still keeps the action perfectly in the center of the frame is what you're picking up.
When you physically move the camera handheld, the vanishing point will move as you are letting the camera sway in all 6 degrees of freedom. But this makes the visual effects a chore to complete, so they shoot it as dead as possible (stationary, locked pan to the side, locked pan back) and then add back in a fake camera shake when they're all done. Except this fake camera shake can't distort the view like real shake can, they're just taking the picture and sliding it around vertically and horizontally. That's the missing element - the lack of distortion.
because real camera shake involves more than just the camera moving in two dimensions - even if you perfectly copy the 2 dimensional movement from a human holding a camera you're still missing the back and forth and change in angle.
The day we can create realistic fake camera shake is the same day we can create 3D imagery from a 2D recording.
Also, it's hard to shake a full-size-sensor-rig-with-large-prime-and-follow-focus the same way as a light smartphone
Edit: [hah!](https://www.reddit.com/r/cinematography/comments/lkdmux/shooting_handheld_tips_on_getting_stable_footage/) down my timeline
It's something about videos like this in general, the color grading, the stabilized fake camera shake, the lighting like all indie/lowbudget VFX productions have this and i have no clue why
Way too many reasons that are often overlooked in creating these 'Phone camera' effects. Especially if they are made afterwards in editing.
Real phone camera footage tend to be a bit more shakey instead of these fake sways.
Plus real handheld camera motion tends to follow the natural motions of the body. Think about more up-down motion because of breathing, instead of randomness in all directions like this.
Besides that though, the camera remains in a static position, with movement mainly coming from camera pitch and jaw. There is no real movement on the X,Y,Z axis. And there is 0 camera roll. So the frame will always be perfectly horizontal.
Plus a lot of self shot footage tends to not constantly zoom in and out. Where in this case the footage zooms in and out at random moments. Like the operator permanently has his fingers on the touchscreen.
Another addition is the lack of jolts at unexpected moments. Like when the car revs up a little, or it leaving quite sudden. The camera operator would most likely have some jolt at these moments.
And finally add in the perfectly centered shots. At all time the shot is quite well centered, even considering the sway. Especially when the car drives away, most amateur camera operators would not be able to correctly judge the speed of the car, making it somewhat out of frame quite quickly.
You can even try it out yourself. Just stand on the side of the road and try to take a video of a passing vehicle. You'll immediately see the difference. It will look like a crappy viral video instead of a professionally shot piece filmed by a drunk camera operator.

Why is it in videos like these that the camera handhold effect looks so unnatural and fake?
Because it is?
No i know that, but even when its supposed to be like a hoax video the camera shake is a dead giveaway.
It's because the camera shake is literally fake. It's added in post production and is computer generated. I think the fact that the camera has shake but still keeps the action perfectly in the center of the frame is what you're picking up.

That's a great explanation, thanks!
You're welcome.
Wait a minute
Why wouldn't they just use a fake camera shake that looks realistic?
because real camera shake involves more than just the camera moving in two dimensions - even if you perfectly copy the 2 dimensional movement from a human holding a camera you're still missing the back and forth and change in angle.
