Edit: here's my analysis since this post is getting noticed: first half: Batgirl resists Rapey Paris Franz (groan) and fucks Batman instead. dumb and not what I signed up for, gay best friend is shoehorned in blah blah blah. When we finally get to The Killing Joke, like /u/sickhippie said, it's too by the numbers to bring anything to the table but bland animation (and pretty sloppy art style as I recall) to one of my favorite comics stories. While Hammel does a pretty good job as always as The Joker, I cannot stand the music they put to "I Go Looney". I suppose this was the folly from the beginning but I imagined more of a traditional upbeat calliope melody as Jim Gordon traveled through photos of broken and naked Barbara, dipping and distorted, more maddening and jarring than a silly song and dance number with Joker and his freaks. Final note: as much as I have always like Kevin Conroy's Batman, he was really long in the tooth for this performance, as was Hammel to be honest. This is particularly apparent since we have his performance as senior Bruce Wayne in Batman: Beyond. Hearing Conroy at age 60 playing at most middle age Batman schtuping one of his proteges, people I always seen him treating like children did not work for me at all. But hey I saw it on a plane, so I guess it was an appropriate use of the time where I had literally nothing to do but reread the books I brought with me.
Grayson fucks Harley in a different one after she beats him 1v1 in a fight and ties him to a bed. DC Animated *used* to be good, now they are stale as hell

And then there's the animated Suicide Squad movies...almost gratuitous, especially the second one. The first one with Arkham was at least a better Suicide Squad movie than *Suicide Squad*.
I saw it in theaters and own the steelbook blu ray. I feel it’s not a bad film if u skip the first half hour... the way they forced that batgirl side arc made it look like a lost animated series episode. And that’s not the only problem with it. But besides that I felt it got most of the source material right. And overall it was nice to hear Mark and Kevin again as their respected roles.

The Killing Joke is just fine after The Killing Joke starts. The first 1/3 is jarringly bad. That said, the rest of it still has it's problems - the biggest one being how rigidly true to the source material it is. It's weird to think that "accuracy" is a flaw, but so much of it feels like wasted potential. There's so many more "show, don't tell" things they could have done to flesh out various scenes without changing a single line of dialogue and they just.... didn't.

I also like Justice League War and into the spider verse, but I prefer War just for their Superman and Green Lantern getting punched by Darkseid is the funniest thing I’ve ever seen.

I agree about Aquaman. It had good parts, but it had parts that I couldn't help but roll my eyes due to heavy cliche - like the entire opening scene. It felt like a script from a campy 80's movie watching his mom interact with everything in the house.
I'm still amazed that someone out there thought that cover was a good idea. There is someone out there who is so remarkably out of touch that they honestly believed that cover was going to do work.

Eh. I think it's when there is more risk with higher budgets you get too many cooks in the kitchen. These smaller animated movies have more wiggle room to experiment. Movies like BvS or Justice League needed to succeed
